Pata Negra has a spacious dining room and a lovely outdoor garden in the back, and this casual…read morerestaurant is a great place for Spanish tapas. The Variacion de Tapas Grande came with a selection of 10 tapas: marinated olives, sheep cheese, cooked spinach topped with cheese, garlic mushrooms, potatoes, grilled Mediterranean vegetables (zucchini and peppers), curry chicken, lamb stew with plums, chorizo in a red wine sauce, and dates wrapped with bacon, along with mojo picon/verde, aioli, and bread. The tapas were all tasty, though some of them were not particularly authentic (the curry chicken and lamb goulash were definitely unusual).
The Ensalada Sevilla was a green salad of lettuce, dried tomatoes, olives, all tossed in an acidic dressing and topped with sliced grilled chicken breast; and my favorite dish was the Paella de Marisco, yellow saffron rice cooked with mixed seafood including fish, mussels, and shrimp. Again, the paella was not particularly authentic (it was obviously not cooked in a paella pan in a thin layer to form crispy bits) but it was tasty nonetheless. Overall, this was a fun, casual restaurant with friendly service and tasty (though not particularly authentic) Spanish eats.
