Great little market right in the heart of Mission Hills. I used to come here as a kid to get Popsicles, so it was really nice coming back years later with my girlfriend. We stopped by in December while dog-sitting in the area and ordered sandwiches. My girlfriend is extremely picky when it comes to food, and even she loved them. Everything tasted fresh, the sandwiches were made well, and the whole place still has that classic neighborhood market feel. It's a combination convenience store (including liquor) and deli counter specializing in Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. I ordered a falafel plate and stuffed grape leaves. They were kind enough to heat the falafel up for me. Everything was delicious, especially the garlic sauce! Prices were really reasonable. Best deal for lunch! Only 6.99 for a deli sandwich and side of potato salad. Their Armenian potato salad costs a bit more but is totally worth it. It's similar to German in that there is no mayo. Love the lemon and herbs! I could eat a bucket of it and even skip the sandwich. They also have a great variety of sides including baba ghanoush, hummus, bean salads, beet salad, and a wide selection of soups. I enjoyed the first half of my Italian sandwich on dark squaw bread with dill pickle spear. But I added some chili crisp when I got home, to punch it up even more. I used to come here years ago just for their dolmas- stuffed grape leaves which are so much better than the ones at grocery chains. Will definitely have to start doing that again! read more

This place is the TRUTH. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I came on a whim this past weekend. In the back there's a food counter and a cooler with chocolate milk in it. I ordered a chicken kabob sandwich and at first I was concerned when she pulled out a supermarket pita from a plastic bag and tossed it in the microwave, along with the actual chicken kabob later on. But I didn't need to worry. The sandwich was incredible and lush. The tzatziki sauce was everything and the kabob was gritty and everything tasted fresh together somehow even though I had visual evidence that it wasn't really. It didn't matter because it was amazing and I can't wait to come back and have it again. You can order the kabobs a la carte and I have no clue what I'll use them for but I will definitely do this next time. Other reviews mention the potato salad - this is the best potato salad you will ever eat in your life. It's smothered in olive oil and lemony and tastes like a giant allium and the potatoes are huge and chunky. After the first bite I knew it was a food that I need in my life forever. The man at the front counter told me to enjoy. I sure did. I got two bottles of chocolate milk also and one's still in my fridge. read more

We have loved everything that we have tried so far - baklava, fresh daily made hummus, chicken salad (my favorite), beet salad, dolma, etc. We had Ibis prepare food for a party and everyone mentioned how delicious it was. A cool neighborhood store. Lots of craft beers, though they could be better organized and they have a decent wine selection. They have lots of items that you'd need in a pinch, but since they're not real well stocked produce-wise, I wouldn't consider them a full grocery store. They do have a nice deli - the roast chicken is my favorite though it's smaller and a bit pricier than the major grocery chains. Still, it's so flavorful that it's well worth it. The deli has lots of Middle Eastern items, but they also turn out a good sandwich. My usual is the Ibis Special with turkey, avo, bacon, cheese. I've never been disappointed by anything I purchased here. This is a family run operation and they're very friendly and helpful. Every neighborhood should have a market like this. read more
