I read this other review and had to say something, Jack must be one of those people that have a completely different experience than everyone around them. I completed the MA program recently and it was the best thing I have ever done. I guess some people learn slower Jack but the 5 week classes made it quick and easy. My friend is in the dental program and loves it, she is constantly telling me how much fun she has. I am working as an MA and they helped me get a job. If you want to change your place or better your family, IBMC was great. stop blaming others for your plight. School is what you make of it and it sounds like all you want is other people to do stuff for you. read more

I went in the salon with dyed blonde hair. I asked to go brunette and they said they didn't want to make my hair brown, but they would darken it. After 3 hours my hair was more blonde?? So we spent another 3 hours re-dying it and I ended up leaving with blond hair with RED ROOTS ?? I ended up coming back 3 days later because I was so embarrassed to go out in public. a new student was able to make my hair darker, but I still have red roots. Both times I left the salon I had dye on the back of my scalp that was never rinsed. Sometimes also on my forehead and ears. The students who did my hair were polite, professional, and they were amazing. The issue is in the curriculum or the teaching staff. I'm honestly embarrassed to leave the house. read more

Horrible school.. get brand new teachers that either don't know how to teach or want to teach. They pulled one teacher from the floor area and she said she didn't want to teach she rather be on the floor teaching. The teach I have now is SUPER QUITE!!! EVEN IF ANITHER STUDENT IS MAKING A MISTAKE HE WILL NOT CORRECT HER!!!! What kind of teacher don't correct their students. We were doing a fish tail brand and a student was doing it with three strains of hair and not two. The teacher justed looked at it side ways and made a face and walked away. Another student was doing a full hair curling on her maniqiun when we were only supposed to do half. He never CORRECTED HER!!! I just started in September and so far this is worse than high school. I'm paying 30,000 dollars and these teachers are horrible. You can tell they don't want to be there, they don't care, they don't correct anything. They just have you watch videos and the next day have you do it. No instructions no insight, no pointers. No nothing. I CAN LITERALLY DO THIS AT HOME!!They walk the class room and look at our work see us struggling and say nothing. Not one word. When braiding mine was loose I'm struggling on how to make it tight, do you think the teacher come over to say oh if you hold the hair like this it will make it tighter. No he just looked at mine and walked away. Or when we were curling the manic hair with curlers you would think they would tell us make sure you put a lot alot of gel or it won't stay. We ALL come in the next day to take the curlers out and NONE of the maniquins hair curled. Will this happened to natural hair. Do I have to put a lot of gel on a regular person's hair. I finished my esthetician education here back in February and it was the most poorly planned out program I have ever taken in my life. I have already left a review on this. BUT today I go in to pursue some of the continuing education classes that were included in my tuition. So today (the 14th) through the 16th from 8am-5pm each day I had a chemical peel class that I took a lot of work off for, plans, etc. I get to IBMC this morning and go to the front desk to ask where the class is and they go "Oh I'm sorry that class was cancelled." I go "I wasn't aware, was there an email sent out that I missed" they go "No, the teacher who was supposed to be teaching it doesn't work here anymore" (I know her and I know she was fired) I also know that she worked here for many years and that they had the complete ability to contact her and ask for the list of students taking this class, so that they could reach out to all of us in advance and let us know the class was cancelled. They continued to say that they had no way of knowing the list of students taking this class. That shows how awful the communication skills in this school are. How are you offering a three day class with a list of students signed up for it and only one person in the whole school has this list?? aka the one who was fired. Also, apparently you have no way of contacting the teacher in charge of this class?? Even though she worked here for many years?? None of it makes any sense or is ethical in any way. Although, I can't say I'm too surprised with how unorganized I witnessed this school and staff everyday for months while I was in my program. I do not recommend this business unless you want your time & money wasted. read more

I had really bad outcome at IBMC this time for hair coloring and I voiced my experience with only empathy. The instructors there don't really help the weak students and make sure they are doing it right and customer has to suffer. Student was so weak that she didn't even know basics which one usually knows even without any training and she was not even new there. I was told she was there from past 1 year when I called them to take the appointment which I really didn't care about always thinking experienced intructors are there. I felt like she was young and needed more help and she would have done better job for sure. Instructor actually tells you that this is what you get for half price and you have signed up for that. Instructor was snooty and racist is my first experience from my first time there but I gave benefit of doubt. All I expected was correction but they refuse to give that too. Receiptionist there supports instructor and says her hair is also grey and not colored, so what....lol (felt like ganging up). I don't understand how can you say that. I feel really bad for student who paid to get trained and was literally struggling the whole time. I told her once she can get help if she wants. She called him once but hesitated to call him again. She didn't even wear gloves while coloring my hair. She didn't even wash my hair correctly. I saw some color in front but thought that was only in front but when I came home and scratch my head few times cause I was feeling itchy. I was shocked to see color in my nails everytime I scratched. Not only that be careful, instructors also bill you in incorrectly while students were honest about pricing. I corrected instructor two times I went there coz I had their price sheet. read more

IBMC at first glance seems like a brand new, fun, family centered, schooling experience, but after you sign the papers, you sold your soul to the devil. Once you start of course everything is fresh and new but after about two hours, or two weeks, or two months even in, the COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM will show its real colors, not only the STAFF AND THE INSTRUCTORS BUT THE DEAN. I went to the FORT COLLINS AND GREELEY program. Not only switching from FOCO to GREELEY because it was closer and more convenient from my home, but because the STAFF AND INSTRUCTORS blow you off like a fly. They don't take anything seriously and are CONSTANTLY rolling through INSTRUCTORS because no one stays. When I went to FOCO the INSTRUCTORS would rather gossip with their favorite group of students then sign our sheet and literally do the job they were hired for. The GREELEY INSTRUCTORS were a little different I wasn't there for very long, which should tell you something. LOTS of drama between INSTRUCTORS AND STAFF, but yet THEY graded us on OUR "professionalism." The last straw was pulled when I FINALLY had my Mom come in as a client to the school, which was very exciting as she had attended this school and same campus when she got a degree there a few years back, having my mom there for the first time since I started school which was like 9 months was really exciting to me. We went to then go talk to the DEAN OF GREELEY and that's truly where I went "wait what is my mom paying for?" My mom had, had a small seizure while driving to come to my school on this day (shes epileptic but it's been dormant for quite a few years) and anyone who's knows anything knows that's unsafe. So I went to talk to the DEAN about some questions/concerns that I had, and I had my mom there so I knew she would fill in all the spots I left out. The DEAN immediately shut it down and told me that she had an interview in FIVE MINUTES and couldn't talk, that's fine okay, whatever. So I tried to talk as fast as I could and get out as much as I could in the time allotted and noy was I not ready for what came next. My DEAN showed her true, unprofessional, lack of skill, and talked to me like another young (teenage girl that has an attitude, you get the picture) girl and told me over and over that what I was talking about all depended on circumstance. She came at me hard and it was astonishing to see it live for the first time, as a young adult. I over came her negative and rude/demanding tone. I came back at her with questions trying to hold back the tears that I was holding back due to the fact that she didn't listen. She didn't hear me, but yet all she told me was "it's all about circumstances." Well this is turning into a bad circumstance... She said she had to get to her meeting and basically shut her door on us. The next day my mom and I had decided it was best that, I unenroll from IBMC. When I had gone in, I had explained some MEDICAL things like therapy and went out on a limb and even told this member of the STAFF about something I don't share. Going to therapy is hard, explaining why is harder but I told him I was in therapy and he tried talk me into just withdrawals for a session and then coming back, but after someone showed me that, as a 19 year old (atm) adults aren't nice or care or even give a f**k about their job, let alone what that entitles at that job, anyone in any profession can lack something, and a fuel to do it in a professional, positive matter, just isn't in some people's books. After I had signed the paperwork to withdrawal, the DEAN caught me there and while I had wished I wouldn't have seen her at all, she chased me to my car and wouldn't take "no you didn't care or listen, or do your job that I pay for by the way when you needed to and now that's your problem, I'm done" as an answer and literally as I paced to my car as fast as I could she somehow kept up and thought that it was once again "professional" to do that. As I told her the last time that she didn't deserve my money as she didn't do her job, I shut my car door and left as soon as possible. I was hoping it would stop there, but it didn't. I am currently in the process of transferring to a new school in LOVELAND and after my mom had emailed the guy at the GREELEY campus that I told that I was in therapy, he emailed my mom this email, I'm only attaching one picture atm. The email was his ripping me to shreds the whole time, in the second paragraph you will get a glimpse at what the IBMC COLLEGE STAFF AND INSTRUCTORS think is acceptable and it's not. Please DO NOT ATTEND THE COSMETOLOGY program, it's a waste of money and you could go somewhere else where you can wear different clothes, not be held against for missing hours, your staff and teachers actually care about your career path, and ultimately somewhere that doesn't tear you down when you're starting a new path in life. read more

Graduate massage students are very professional and well- schooled. They have not been doing massage long enough to get complacent or lazy. Ask for Senior discount if you qualify. Have had incredible visits here up until the last visit. On our last visit, I watched my daughter ask for a haircut with the layers ending at her collar bone. The student did not know where the collar bone was and when the instructor who was monitoring walked away, she proceeded to cut the longest layer at the chin. My daughter heard her intake her breath as if she had made a mistake. The instructor never came back. My sister went to beauty school 25 years ago. I am familiar that these are students doing the work, and working at FRCC, I am also familiar with the teaching process. Making a mistake is an opportunity for learning also. Instead, when I called back, I was told never to come back, that a more upscale salon would be a better choice. I am a single mother and really had hoped for better service than this. I was treated as if I made the mistake, all because I thought calling back to let them know what had happened was the right thing to do. read more
