Super disappointed with my visit today. I was filling out the appointment form when she had taken the person behind me to start her eyebrow threading. (also did not have that customer fill out the appointment form, which is interesting considering they practically bark at you the second you walk through the door to fill it out). I can understand that it was just one lady in the floor today but when you had rushed through my eyebrow threading, consistently hitting me in the eye, no apology for doing that either ( I forgot manners aren't really a thing anymore these days). Then when she had handed me the mirror to look over her work, I felt extremely rushed and overwhelmed by her. After paying and being able to actually get a look at the threading work I noticed there were a few mistakes still. I tried to go back in to see if she would be able to fix it but I didn't see her & my patience had already worn thin at this point. Needless to say, I probably won't be back. I recently purchased a Groupon to get my eyebrows threaded, tinted, and laminated. I was a little nervous as this was my first time trying lamination, but couldn't be more pleased with the results. Everything went very quickly even with the clients out numbering the technicians. I got anxious when they switched around from client to client since I had chemicals and dye to deal with for my procedure, but they knew what needed to be done and still did solid work. The prices also seem very reasonable and they accept walk ins. I recommend this place if you want something well priced, convenient, and fairly quick. read more

I'd recommend this spot if you're looking for a quick threading and tint. That's what I came in for, being a first time for the eyebrow tint but not threading. The threading was done well and quickly, and the eyebrow tint as well! I would say they are there to get the job done but not produce a miracle eyebrow makeover, lol. Nilma used to be my favorite. Very gentle hands, can't even feel your eyebrows are being threaded. One thing I CANNOT stand is bad hygiene. **Let me make this very clear: I am mixed with Indian** I understand everything they say and her hands smell of curry - disgusting. I've never seen any of the women go and wash their hands in between clients or rarely use hand sanitizer. The last time I was there Nilma paused at least 2-3 times to check someone out or answer the phone, ended up taking a huge chunk off of my left eyebrow because she was rushing and not paying attention. The time before that, one of her employees managed to take chunks of skin off of my forehead. I couldn't even wash my face it burned so bad. Her employees are not certified, nor do they have the proper training to do what they are doing. They are randoms Nilma finds tells them how and what to do in another language. She's great. I go there for waxing. Waxing doesn't disappoint me. I have done couple of facials, they were good but not an hour long. The price I paid I know for that somewhere else I will get a whole hour long. Pros: Very accommodating. Kind. Great customer service. Fast service. Cons: The tubes with wax in don't look clean and I doubt they change or clean them after every customer. That is a big hygiene issue. She definitely does ask you A lot whether you want to get something else done. I understand it's business but once is enough. There's no privacy. Almost allll the time there is someone else in the room too getting eyebrows done or something while I am getting waxed or getting facial done. I don't even know where to begin, this was a traumatic experience at best. I've had a handful of Brazilian waxes in my past (including around the same time as my last pregnancy) and this one, will by far, go down as the worst (and, possibly my last experience). Unfortunately, I was blinded by the price (Groupon rate) and as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." As I stumbled out to the car, I muttered, "I'm worth more than this." There is a cardinal rule about waxing. Hair must not be super short (which a waxer can't do anything about other than re-book at a later date) or not too long, which can then be rectified with trimming. Trimming can be done with either razors or scissors. While I'm not trying to paint you the most vivid picture, I'm 39-weeks pregnant and certainly needed help in this arena (or is it area?), hence why I was here in the first place. I was not a fast turn-around candidate which is what I believe this studio does--cranks out waxes (including Brazilians) in 5-10 minutes (max) which is what Nilima boasted about. So, without any level of modesty (e.g. "let me close curtain while you undress and put on paper underwear"), this was a no-fuss, no-frills... might-as-well-gotten-my-annual-woman-visit while I'm here. I could barely get on the cot and scoot back as I'm not the most graceful thing, like a turtle on it's back except my shell in on the front (ahem, I repeat 39 weeks pregnant). Laying back with "criss-cross applesauce" legs with her partner (oh, no, of course we aren't even alone), the wax is applied. But, wait... Cardinal rule is completely and utterly forgotten. So, Nilima tries (from what I assume as my full view is obstructed) to rectify this by then cutting out the wax (not without jabbing me in the process) because the hair growth exceeded what any right-minded waxing professional would do without causing serious pain. Waxing isn't pleasurable but it is tolerable; this was horrifying. I begin to start sweating profusely. Nilima and her colleague/relative/friend(?) start speaking in a different language. I'm left to wonder what is going on down "there", what are they saying that I should know, is it too late to leave? Nilima kept telling the other woman to hold the skin "tight"... however, that did not happen. Nor, did Nilima hold the skin after the rip to stop the stinging (a usual waxing courtesy). Nilima was friendly, apologetic and kept repeating she was sorry and that me being pregnant was the issue of why it hurt so bad. Yes, pregnancy can cause sensitivity but no. The issue was that she didn't trim my hair. It was far too long. The damage, so to speak, was already done. Wax had dried in certain areas, more wax was then applied, hair at different lengths now... with each groan she said, "one more and done", rip, "one more and done", rip... this repeated several times. Alas, we are done, no mirror, no nothing to review what I came for. She slapped a bunch of ointment (not sure what it was) and baby powder and said I was done. I had strings of wax all over my legs (again, has never happened before). When I got home, I struggled to pull off my undergarments because they were adhered with globs of wax. I had to hold on to the wall, so I could take a few deep breaths and rip them out myself. As I now have a view of the work completed, I see extensive patchiness. What am I left to do? I still can't groom myself, one can't wax back to back as the swelling and skin will need to heal and it's memorial day weekend with waxers being completely booked. I'll need to muster up the courage to get this rectified elsewhere and shell out double what I paid, making this a very expensive grooming treatment. Nilima is friendly and accommodating and several other women were waiting for her services outside the door. I, though, can not recommend Brazilians here especially if you are requiring extra maintenance time and prefer the niceties of paper underwear (among other things). I would also like to point out the several 5-star reviews with no picture and only one review--very questionable. read more

Sola Salon is a trendy, all-in-one salon, with individual aesthetician studios within. A friend recommended Nilima and gave me her direct contact info, so I'm not sure how it works if you call Sola salon itself. Upon entering, Nilima's threading and waxing studio is one of the first you'll see on the right-hand side. It's large enough for a handful of people to be in there at once. Despite how busy she is, there usually aren't more than 2 or 3 customers there at a time. Nilima is amicable, accommodating, and she will text you about earlier available appointments even after you've booked yours. She's been in the waxing/threading business for over 20 years, and it shows in her technique- painless (just the usual discomfort or slight sting), quick, efficient, and competitive prices! It helps that she has an assistant, Rimpal, for lengthy services to ensure that you're in-and-out of the salon asap. Post-waxing, they apply oil, anti-inflammatory cream, or wipe you down with a warm washcloth to get most of the residual stickiness off. They also apply hydrocortisone in case your sensitive skin erupts in hives (like mine did). FYI- If you have a Chase card, you can Quickpay her from the Chase App on your phone. You don't have to pay that way, but I think she prefers it. read more

NILIMA'S IBROW THREADING & MORE STUDIO 1 - I have went to over 3 different threading studios in the Milwaukee are. Nillima has been doing my threading for over a year now! She uses lighter, not as dense thread, so my mother & boyfriend can tolerate no more pain! :) she always does an amazing job on my eyebrows, they come out clean thick and even like I like them! Very unprofessional. I went in for my first brazilian wax ever. I started by being open with her about the fact that i'm nervous about the pain. She gave me some advil and a bottle of water and told me she had numbing area she could put on the area that will help me. I'll tell you in advance I'm lucky this didn't scare me away from getting another wax in the future... but for others, the rudeness and impoliteness would have. For this kind of job, you need to be friendly and personable. You NEED to make people feel comfortable. Her assistant/ worker was the opposite. She said no words to me, even when I tried to talk to her. She was not welcoming or inviting and did nothing to help create a positive comfortable environment and neither did Nilima. I lied down and the assistant put on numbing cream but immediately started waxing. I told her that for numbing cream to work effectively, you need to wait a few minutes. (I am a health care professional) I asked her to do that. She told me no, that she has other appointments after me and that she can't wait. She also told me that she's done this a million times and she knows how. She told me that It will work anyways. Let me tell ya, it didn't. Nilima kept pressuring me into getting other things waxed. It was very unprofessional. She asked me multiple times about my eyebrows, legs, arms, and underarms.... every part of my body that grows hair, she asked me multiple times if I wanted to add that to what I was already doing. I said no to them all. I eventually ended up waxing my lower legs also. They did not apply the wax with a tongue depressor stick, but rather the wax was already in a container and they wiped it onto my legs. This is very unsanitary and breaks many health codes as they use that on other people's legs as well. Skipping over some of the other problems, they didn't even get all the hair off my legs and brazilian area. They were rushing so much and didn't care about the job they were doing. What's the point of waxing if the hair isn't even gone... what a waste of $65. Wont go back. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I went on groupon to find a Brazilian wax and was lucky to find Nilima's iBrow Threading. Being that it was my first wax in years I was a little anxious, but Nilima made me feel very comfortable and talked with me throughout the process. She put my mind at ease, and the wax was done before I knew it. In addition to being extremely pleased with the results, I enjoyed talking with someone so down to earth and genuine. While there I asked to get my eyebrows threaded and tinted too and was glad they were able to make time for me. I was nervous for that as well being that I haven't had great experiences at other places lately, but I was super happy to see that Nilima was able to fix my brows so they were even and looked full. The assistant is really good, but the owner has no patience. Did an awful job at waxing. I told her my skin is sensitive, still double waxed the same spot. I still have bruises/patches even after 1 month of the event. I get waxing done all the time, it was my first time trying this place. Not recommended. I would never go again. read more

First of all , I would want you to take the help of the person ( the same one ) who helped you to justify your apology as u mentioned that English is not ur first language .. On my side , as a customer i would wanna clarify the readers here just as u did .. 1. The day i called your salon , on the very first call ; i observed that whoever attended the call was rude on phone telling that they are really very busy and fully booked today ; so if you remember the call precisely , i politely said that should be fine and ended the call .. 2. Later in few minutes , your salon guys called me and told me to wait for few min on call and said i can come over at the time i asked for as it was my first visit . I sincerely thank you for the consideration here .. 3. Any professional would not compromise on the quality of service because of the time constraint and just not to loose business , is what generally people believe i suppose . 4. On arrival , though you immediately started my threading , i observed you were in a hurry and when i wanted to explain you about what i wanted in threading , you were really harsh in telling me to speak in a lower voice ( as u had another facial going on in the same room ) . Instead you could have asked me politely .. And later quickly i could notice you were totally ignorant about threading ( as a result i could notice skin marks and scars left even now ) . I did even notice you ordering me to switch off my phone ( which was already on silent mode , although an alarm went on while you were threading , so quickly i even stopped it ) . 5. Finally , i even see you were reluctant in removing the fine hairs which i showed you after the threading and you dint even bother to give me or even ask me if i needed a receipt for the payment i did ; instead you were keen on the next customer who has arrived and just wanted to get done with mine ! Truly a very bad experience for a first time customer at-least to me ! And a free eyebrows session would not compensate for the act !
