Here are my recommendations: bulgogi - marinated beef with rice (€8.90), bibimbap - fresh marinated vegetables served with rice (€8.90), jap chae - glass noodles with vegetables and meat (€8.90), dakgangjung - spicy/sweet marinated chicken pieces (€4.90/6 pieces or €6.90/10 pieces) and the tteokbokki - spicy rice cake (€5.90). They added some summer drinks: iced american coffee (€3.50), pomegranate iced tea (€3.90), plum iced tea (€3.90), cherry iced tea (€3.90) to the menu and a korean dessert specialty patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red bean). I agree with one of the reviewers that if you do not like spicy food, the choices are limited to the small menu, but there are definitely non-spicy items to try like the dumplings, jap chae and meat dishes. The fried rice came out about 10 min after we said something to the waiter, so it was all very awkward timing of our food being brought out. In Niwa's case they've done a very good job of serving genuine food that correctly represents both Thai and Japanese cuisine. My friends and I ordered a series of dishes in order to sample all that the restaurant had to offer (ranging from pad thai to seared salmon) and discovered that not only were the dishes flavorful but also very filling. Definitely plan on popping in again. On a side note, the restaurant seems to fill up once it hits 9:00PM (or in Italian format 21:00) so make sure to come a little earlier if you don't want to wait.
