The patrons are always friendly, and helpful. The shop provides groceries of English, Indian, East Euro, Turkish quite a mix, and getting a tin of Chickpea Chana Masala, to eat with rice or some naan...just lush. The store is like stepping into Dr Who's Tardis :-)

Like the Sweet Mart in Easton this is a store that is all about the customer. They buy in only the best quality fruit and vegetables, for example, and sell it at reasonable and affordable prices. It's all organic and locally sourced where possible - stocked full of love and good energy. The Asian food section is immense with every type of spice and raw bean imaginable. It's a good place too to find adverts and posters for local and ethical happenings. A great store that comes highly recommended.

The toilet paper is never ever in the dispenser in any toilets even the baby change instead always loose on top of the sanitary bins or dispenser. It's in a handy…read morelocation, right next to the main First and U-link buses in Fishponds, meaning you only have to walk a few metres with your heavy bags. There is also a substantial car park which I have never seen full to the brim. Inside, its bright and spacious meaning there is plenty of room to maneuver your wonky trolley without plowing down the locals. Prices are also good, and easily rival the adjoining Lidl's and I personally think it's much more of a stress-free zone than Lidl's. Additionally, there is a cafe for a sit down if you have had a long morning, which is always in use (mainly by the older generation may I add!) and the coffee isn't too bad.

It's a small store and it's fresh produce is really limited so don't go there if you find yourself in need of something other than the normal carrots, potatoes, apples and bananas etc! The staff are friendly and you can pick up some amazing bargains in the reduced section if you time your visit right.

It's a Tesco Extra, and has a cafe on the upper level…read more(always handy for a cheap meal or snack) while the food, clothing etc are all on the lower level. The store does get very very busy, but as it's next to Ikea and the Eastgate Centre it's not surprising that people want to combine trips. There is often a long queue to even get in to the centre at busy times. The store itself is well stocked and the staff are helpful. It can sometimes seem a little untidy, especially in the clothing area, but it's probably inevitable at busy times of day. The car park could be a little bigger, but otherwise it's a good place to grocery shop. It's also accessible by a bus route.

They have a good bakery section - especially the croissants and rolls - which is delivered every morning. They have a fair range of fruit and veg (not packaged either, good eco points). They have the basics for the rest of the groceries - my only sticking point is that their baking section is a bit titchy and since the Co-op in Staple Hill has changed to a Tesco (but Co-op is technically next door with a Somerfield, keep up at the back) my baking needs are now having to be fulfilled all the way at the bottom of Fishponds in none other than Morrisons! Anyway, open really late even on a Sunday, got a good range of items, sometimes the tills are a little slow but I think it is just because they are understaffed. Oh I should mention the staff - at the weekend almost entirely run by emos. Fantastic. And they are ever so polite.

The staff in the shop are so friendly and helpful it's always a pleasure being served there, always inviting a chat about how your day's been and helping if you can't find something. I've seen them help older customers a number of times carry their groceries out of the shop as well if they've got a heavy load. Good service goes a long way in my opinion and I can't stand rudeness in supermarkets. It's very unlikely you'd find rudeness here, quite the opposite. Co-op Fishponds I solute you!

A number of exotic veg, fruits and herbs are on sale too, such you can whip up a Malaysian fish curry at home to impress your mates. Obviously these foods are imported and not locally sourced, in case that's important to you. What is good is that fish like Magur and Pangasius are not as overfished as cod and haddock, so you'll be doing your bit for the environment/fish stocks in that way instead. But for firm-fleshed and tasty fillets, I know of no better place.
