For a few years I'm always in my hometown of Cincinnati Ohio and I would receive 2 for 5 cupcakes but since I was 3,000 miles aways but when I come to back to Sac, they always make sure I would get my 2 for 5 plus I always buy extra because I totally appreciated that. We decided to get a box of 6 different cupcakes for son's bday. Since we wanted to make sure we got a good mix and before they sold out, we called around 12:30pm on a Saturday whilst looking up the flavors on their website for pick up at 4:45pm later that day. Note that for same day orders you have to just call wirh order and can not place the order online. You can also choose to pay on the phone or when pick up. We got there and it is nice there are some 15 minute pick up spots right in front of the shop. It was also nice because it seemed they still had quite the variety of flavors at that time too, so good to know walk-ins are fine as well. I personally tried 2 of the flavors... pineapple right side up cake (gluten free) and blueberry. They were both so yummy and not too sweet. They also both had a delicious filling in the middle. Also the Gluten free one wasnt dry at all and tasted just like regular. We also got strawberry, peanut butter chocolate, lemon, and red velvet. Our party loved them. We were craving a sweet treat as we walked around, and came upon this little spot. Our experience was pleasant. Customer service was satisfactory. There were 2 tables in the small space. We did find big crumbs left on one of our chairs. There were plenty of tempting flavors, and we ended up choosing confetti, chocolate chocolate, & snickerdoodle. At first bite, I was one happy gal. My mom and I try to come here often for their gluten free flavors! I've tried most of the non-gluten free ones at this point and recently tried a new Chai Spice- definitely better than anything else I have had there yet!!! I hope they keep it in the rotation! Pucker Up (lemon), Snickerdoodle, and Mocha are all pretty good, but again Chai Spice is just stellar! For gluten free options- Boston crème is the best (Wednesday flavor). Icing on the Cupcake is my favorite cupcake shop around. I've been a fan for at least ten years. My all time favorite flavor has always been the Beehive. The website menu describes it better than I can: "A rich vanilla cake filled with pure honey and bavarian cream and topped with honey amaretto frosting and a sugar bee." SOOO GOOD. Other favorite flavors include the pink champagne, maple bacon, pinkdelicious, and vanilla chocolate. There offer a few vegan flavors, including guava, chocolate turtle, and hummingbird (tropical). I've tried the chocolate turtle, and loved it. Gluten-free flavors include Boston creme, chocolate salted caramel, and brown batter coffee cake. I've tried the first two, and loved them both. The actual flavor selection changes every day. So, if you're picky like me, you might want to check their website ahead of time to make sure they have the cupcakes you want. On their website, you can also pre-order any flavor you like, and can even create custom flavored cupcakes. I want to first say that I'm not accustomed to paying $3.75 for a single cupcake. But I when I do, ya better believe It would be a cupcake from Icing on the Cupcake (IOTC). Moist, dense, flavorful cake beautifully frosted with fluffy, substantial frosting. The cake and icing isn't overly sweet. They have seasonal flavored cupcakes served on rotating basis along with a ton of classic ones that they offer daily. My faves are mocha, red velvet, and snickerdoodle. But I have yet to met a cupcake that I would say no to at IOTC. I'm a reward members, so I get texts about all their special deals. Just the other day, 11/1'1/22 was National Vanilla Cupcake day. They were offering vanilla vanilla cupcakes for $2. Well after work, I hightailed it over there and grumbled about parking. It took me two drive by go around la to find a parking spot nearby. The shop is between Borders bookstore and the movie theater. I knew that there was a chance that they could be sold out of the vanilla vanilla cupcakes. I could have called them ahead of time. They had 4 left. Yay!! I bought 2. The young staff working there was terrific. Fun, friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The cupcakes did not disappoint, they were llldelicious. TLDR: this place will give your prepaid $200+ order away to a stranger, refuse to compensate you for their mistake, and threaten bogus legal action because they messed up and can't take accountability. My husband and I ordered and prepaid 4 dozen cupcakes for a pickup order for my son's birthday. I sent my parents to pick them up but when they got there they were told the cupcakes had already been picked up by a man in his 20s. My husband and I and my parents are the only ones who knew about the order and we don't know any 20 something year old man in the area so whoever the cupcakes were given to it was definitely not us. The employee there confirmed that the man that picked them up did not provide an order confirmation (which my mom did have) so Icing on the Cupcake failed to ensure that the order went to right person. They did not have 4 dozen cupcakes available to substitute, much less in the flavors we had originally ordered. It was negotiated that we could choose a dozen of the flavors available and due to their mistake we would get a refund for the 3 dozen we did not receive and a partial refund for the dozen that we substituted. After multiple days of not receiving a refund as promised my husband emailed the store and we were told that since the order was picked up we would not receive a refund. I called to speak to someone to reiterate that the order was given away to someone we do not know and we never received the $200+ order we paid for and that a partial refund was already promised. The girl I spoke to apologized for the mistake and issued a full refund on the spot. However not even 5 minutes later they charged my card again for the full amount with any sort of discussion or warning because they still had it on file. We called back to figure out what was going on and were told that they had video evidence that "someone we knew" picked up put order which is categorically false and that they were considering calling the cops on us because we "stole" a dozen cupcakes (the ones that were offered to us and packaged up by an employee behind the counter and willingly handed to my parents per the agreement). After more back and forth and us requesting both of these videos Icing on the Cupcake refused to cooperate, take accountability, or provide the so called evidence they had and forced us to dispute the charges with the bank. We have been loyal customers, coming to get 2 or more individual cupcakes approximately once a month for well over a year and placing 2 other large orders for my son's previous birthdays but we will not be doing so anymore and I would urge anyone else to be careful placing a large order. read more

I have been a long time customer, coming in every Friday to get my delicious Coffee and Cream cupcake. Since the new management took ownership, Coffee and Cream cupcakes on Fridays are obsolete let alone any opportunities for their daily flavors. I don't even have the option anymore to get that flavor period! I called for weeks with the hopes they would hear that a long time customer really wants to spend her money on something they've had for years. I had finished dinner next door and through the window I saw "Icing On The Cupcake". I immediately began the craving for a cupcake. I always wondered what their cupcakes tasted like. I tried for the very first time, a cupcake. OMG!!! It was no joke, the Mocha Cupcake was amazing! In two words: moist and special. Their classic chocolate cake with coffee frosting was so moist and just the perfect sweetness. It was dusted with cocoa powder and topped with yummy white chocolate curls. You have to try it. I ordered the Hummingbird Cupcake (I think that's what it's called) and it's like a banana nut ginger honey cupcake and it's VEGAN and it was hands down the best cupcake I've ever had in my life. I don't care how many calories it was, it was worth every bite. The cupcake was soft and moist, the frosting was decadent but not too sweet.
