I was very impressed with the back massage I had, but as it was a present one Valentine's Day, I don't think I could afford to do this on a regular basis. I am yet to try any of their other treatments, but just by going on the Valentine's Day special I had, I would definitely recommend them. It's also in a handy location - at the top of Park Street and down a little of Park Row meaning after that long walk uphill it's a perfect way to reward yourself!

The place itself from the outside doesn't look that great, but inside it's well done up, clean, and modern - and the staff are all really friendly. This is the sort of place that you will have to book in advance though, as being in a good location and offering good prices it gets very busy so you will have to try and get an appointment in advance.

I usually treat myself to a deep tissue massage or a reflexology session if I'm going to splash out on a complementary therapy for relaxation purposes, and at Clifton Medi Spa is was reflexology. While I'm dubious about some of the more ambitious claims of its many benefits, I enjoy it as a straightforward relaxation treatment. I've never had a reflexology session I haven't enjoyed, although some exert more pressure than others. This one was just the right balance, with enough pressure to feel like it's releasing tension, but not enough to be too painful! Pressure on different parts of your feet is intended to alleviate specific health problems, but for me it just leaves me feeling refreshed and like I'm walking on air afterwards. They also offer a range of other health treatments such as podiatry and chiropody, which I haven't tried, alongside their ever expanding range of cosmetic treatments, which I also haven't tried. The owner has teamed up with Dr Alan Wyn Jones of 'Defy Time' to expand the range of cosmetic treatments available at the clinic - and I hear they now offer all sorts from laser treatments to peels, as well as the scary stuff such as injectibles and fillers - but I think I'll be sticking to the massages and reflexology!

If you're thinking about having any expensive skin therapies, this place comes highly recommended by a number of my friends who've had various successful treatments here, including microdermabrasion and acne treatment - and I can vouch myself for the staff being very helpful in advising on skincare products that they sell, too. If you have a specific skin condition such as acne or scarring, they offer special skincare ranges for these - and if you're considering an expensive treatment they often offer promotional packages for a series at a reduced price. These are well worth looking out for (or asking about) because some treatments such as microdermabrasion are only really effective if you have a series of sessions - and you could end up saving yourself hundreds of pounds. What I particularly like about Sk:n is that all the staff I've ever encountered there have been really friendly and helpful; they're not intimidating in any way (unlike staff in some beauty salons!) and they offer Sunday appointments (and late night opening from Monday-Thursday!), which is very handy if you're busy working most of the week.

Considering that my treatment only lasts for 15 minutes, this is an unacceptable waiting time. On top of all that, they have refused to give my student discount. OK, I know that they need to see my student card (I forgot it at home today) but this was not the first time I was going there and they knew that I was a student (even from my email address it is obvious). At the end of the day, I think I am paying a good deal of money and I deserve more respect in return. I am definitely not going there again. There are many places out there to get the same treatment!

The girl was very helpful and explained everything thoroughly then answered all my questions. The room was neat, tidy and clean and I would be happy to go back for the treatment when I have the money. They do lots of other beauty treatments and it seems like a nice environment to have them in. It's also out of town so there is not normally any problem with parking as you can just find a spare space in one of the residential roads.

A lot of the problems they deal with can be quite embarassing, yet the staff make you feel right at home. They are all really approachable and understand your troubles. They deal with tattoo removals, helping acne and scarring and pigmentation problems. They also offer general beauty treatments such as lip fillers and laser hair reduction. They are alittle on the pricey side but there's no price on vanity!

From the outside the shop window is a little distracting and confusing so I definitely would recommend actually going inside to get you head around all the technical terms.
