I have been going there over the…read moreyears when it was Supercuts but was gutted I heard the chain had went into administration, eventually closing down all the shops, but was delighted when I heard the girls who worked there had taken it over. They have kept to the same hours opening from Sunday to Saturday. It used to be a no need for an appointment, which they have kept going as many clients still thought they were Supercuts (who ran the no appointments required system). I went into book my appointment as like many hadn't had a haircut in months due to the lockdown, to be honest, I think it was more a year and half for me. She remembered my hair, mainly as I have brightly coloured hair, which was great so she knew how I liked it. When I went along I signed in for the track & trace, hand sanitised and wore my mask at all times. The staff wore their PPE protection including a face shield. The seats and areas were kept super clean. It's weird seeing cleaning bottles where it used to be mainly hairsprays and mouses. Instead of the hairdresser cape to cover you it was a see through plastic cape and they used cotton type towels instead of normal towels. The latter is just gentler on your hair. The two staff were able to work and socially distance, due to the shop being quite spacious. It also has an open front due to being based in a shopping mall, so it was pretty airy. The other staff member could work on the opposite side as they have chairs and mirrors on both sides of the shop. So, there was another client having her hair done behind me. It felt a comfortable experience despite all the Covid restrictions and guidelines. The girl did another excellent job of my hair and I look forward to going back when it's safe again to do so.

I arrived at 4.40, 50 minutes before their advertised closing time and asked for a wet cut - I was told they were closing early and I was too late. Won't be going back there for sure no matter what time of day it is.

Yes, I'm being lazy, I could do it myself, but it was mum who suggested as she was heading down anyway to get her hair done. I phoned up and I said I have my own hair dye, my lovely uber bright pink, and they said that would be fine and could fit me in that same day. Yay! I was overjoyed as it saves me from becoming very pink and all the cleaning up afterwards. It's like Dr Suess' Cat in a Hat. Hehe!! I've not been to this hairdressers in years as I'm always a bit weary but I have to say they did a fantastic job. I did ask the girl if my hair was as splitty as I thought and she said yes and showed me, so I said just to trim it as well. She asked me how I would normally dye it and how long I left it, so she did what I would normally do, which was great. I am super happy and my skin is pink free. Yay! I do feel bad for the girl who had to wash and blow dry my hair, I could see her fingers going pink. Ooops! Sorry! All in all it was £30 smackers but then I did get a cut and blow dry. It was cheaper as I supplied my own £2.99 dye. It'll be interesting to see how much they charge without the hair cut if I decide to go down this route again, which is extremely tempting.

I don't dislike getting them but I generally feel like I don't get good advice and just end up getting a trim. I'm also just lazy about it. I've since had my hair cut twice at Polly & Molly and have been really pleased with the results both time. I've still only really had a trim but it was just a much nicer experience than I've had. The small things make a difference. So many places end up straightening my hair really flat. They still straighten it but it's bouncy flat instead of dead looking flat. I've also just generally felt really well taken care of and feel more comfortable to the point where I don't postpone my haircuts to the same extent. On top of this, the prices are reasonable and they have a student discount.

So off I waddled along the road - opposed to the twenty minute walk to my Hair Design usual. As mentioned above, the venue is nice, clean and well presented. It has a lovely atmosphere, the prices are reasonable and the staff are really friendly, quick and efficient. Though, I only had a trim in here - good as it was - so will need to get back to you with an update as to how they are with a proper chop and/or dye job.

On the spur of the moment I got an appt. yesterday 13th Nov and wow what a lovely ambience, friendly and welcoming salon and a great cut and blow dry!! A bit more expensive than where I have been trying but worth every penny!! I have already booked for my colour next month and hopefully will be a regular customer. Cannot praise this salon enough and with being an ex hairdresser( a long time ago) I felt welcomed and at ease as though I was a regular already and not my first visit. Thank you ladies.
