I was never notified about this fee at the time, never billed for it, and never contacted about it in the years since. While talking with staff, it became clear this wasn't an old unpaid balance at all -- it was a recently and manually entered charge they added while going back through old accounts. In other words, this was their mistake, not mine. Every fee from the time I switched from self‑pay to insurance‑covered membership was properly withdrawn from my bank account. If they never billed me and never notified me, that's on them. Despite that, I was treated like someone who had ignored a debt. The tone was disrespectful and made me feel like a "deadbeat" over a mistake they created themselves. I went swimming for a little over an hour with my grandson until the pool was shut down early due to lack of staffing. While I was in the pool, I kept thinking about how I had been treated. When I left, I went to cancel my membership. Only then -- after I said I wanted to cancel -- did the general manager come over and apologize. By that point, it was too late. The apology should have happened when the issue was first addressed, not after they realized they were about to lose a member. It makes me wonder whether this was truly a mistake or if they just randomly added a charge hoping no one would complain over $15. I rarely use my membership, but I've always paid it. I will not continue supporting a place that treats members disrespectfully over an error they created
