It is adequate…read morecondition for playing golf but you don't come here for the "great golf" experience; you come here for the fantastic scenery and views of the trees, forest, deer that walk along the course and Broken Bow Lake! This place USED to be called Oklahoma's Little Augusta and you can see why. I think they had to quit using the term because the Masters folks got mad but it's an appropriate description given that most of the holes wind through the cedar and pine forest. Their "signature" hole is probably 16 where the green is built right into a peninsula into Broken Bow Lake. Look out for boaters yelling and screaming at you as they ride by.........but it's part of the atmosphere. Now, as to golf rating for the players..........condition is spotty. It's a State Park golf course. Tends to be better in spring after rains. During summer or heat of summer, it can be a little dry and not as lush. Fall is a good time to play to view the foliage and temps are not as brutal. You WILL see deer along the course IF you are observant. Small bermuda greens; very TIGHT fairways and plan on losing a few balls if you do not split the fairways. Clubhouse has all the basic amenities. Balls, clubs, some clothes, etc. Driving range. Gas carts which tend to mar the experience due to noise but once you see the hills and distances that you drive, probably understand why they have to use those. So all in all, go for the experience and scenery; not just for the golf. :)

Everyone was very nice and friendly, from the pro shop to the big group of older gentlemen playing. Lots of water to lose a ball or two in!

You have Cavanaugh, the largest hill in the world, in the background of the golf course and majestic ridge looking down at Poteau and the rest of the river valley. The clubhouse also has a delicious food, and the best burger in LeFore Country. You have to try their Cajun Jack Burger and the Aussie Burger, which has bacon, cheese, grilled pineapple, and a fried egg. There beer and spirits prices are like most restaurants' happy hour prices, and you can watch sports on there TVs with sound all day long. It's just a fanatic place to hangout with your friends. Everyone's got to check this place out! Golf, good food, drinks, beer, and sports...what more can you ask for?

Webb Hill Country Club is a hidden treasure in East Texas and I am grateful for this venue! Beside being picturesque and peaceful, the food and Staff are without equal. You do not want to stay at the lodge. I booked three nights at the guest lodge because I was in…read moreGlenwood dealing with my sister's estate. I booked the lodge on line and thought it would meet my needs. Well, it did not. At $90 plus a night in Glenwood, Arkansas, you would expect something pretty good. It wasn't. First of all, the guest lodge is 2 miles down a dirt road from the clubhouse and front desk. So if you need another key, or if there is a problem you either have to drive back to the desk OR call and hope they can send someone to you to help. If you lock yourself out and do not have a cell phone you are SOL as there is no one around to help. Second, when I drove over to the lodge (I was assigned the "older" building which appeared to be a converted house) and let myself in, the woman who happened to be there cleaning informed me that the water was not drinkable because there had been a water main break in town and there was a boil order. Funny thing was that the two people that checked me in did not mention that. So this meant a trip into town to get a gallon of water and a bag of ice. If she hadn't been working when I got there I could very well be listing dysentery as one of my complaints. Third, the common kitchen area REEKED of old cooking odors and general mustiness. Fourth, even though I was only one of a couple of rooms occupied, they gave me a depressing, dark old room that was basically at the basement level with a high window that looked out at a brick wall. Fifth, the "gazebo" area that had the hot tub was dirty and furnished with broken and musty furniture. I didn't dare lift the lid to the hot tub and check it out. Sixth, as I checked out I mentioned to the man working that I was less than enthused about my accommodations. He chuckled and advised me to "stay in the newer building next time." There will be no next time. I do not in any way shape or form recommend this place as a place to stay over night unless you plans are to play golf, get drunk, and crash.
