They are functionally seamless! Plus, I was shocked at how flush they cover the house trim. There are no weird gaps where leaves can cluster. Add grates on the gutters and chains for downspouts and Idaho Custom Rain Gutters makes your house look stellar. I'm sure it ups the house value and definitely the curb appeal. BEWARE: DO NOT USE THEM: I WAS RIPPED OFF Scott Tomlinson, the owner of Idaho Custom Rain Gutters, owes me $600.00 for a botched gutter installation on my home. Because the installer Tomlinson sent to my home was too lazy to use a ladder, he hung over the roof line with a cordless drill and screwed in the gutter hangers bolts in the wrong places, missing the rafters. An ugly job that depreciated the value of my home. Tomlinson approved the damage check to me but it was never mailed or dropped off. I have written proof that they promised to pay me. I spoke with Robert who was supposed to get me the check. He said he would contact Scott even though he no longer works there. Scott never called me and his office employee, Rochelle, won't return my phone calls. I will have to sue him and his company in small claims court. Apparently, Tomlinson has a fake business address of 1855 E Lanark St., Suite 100, Meridian, ID 83642. That's what appears in a Google search. I went there to get my check a couple of weeks ago and was told by the current business that Idaho Custom Rain Gutters hasn't been there in six months. Idaho Custom Rain Gutters cleaned and sealed my patio gutters in January. This work is under warranty. These gutters are now holding water and leaking. I called to schedule an urgent follow up visit because I am concerned about the gutters failing. I called first thing on Friday 9/12. No one returned my call. I called again on Monday 9/15. I was told that they had received my voicemail of 9/12 and someone would get back to me. I explained the urgency of my concern. By Friday 9/19 no one had called me back. I called again and was told there was no record of my initial call even though I had been told that Monday my voicemail had been received and all the calls are documented on my call log. I was told again that someone would get back to me that day to schedule a service call. No one called on 9/19. I finally received a call to schedule a service appointment on Monday 9/22, ten days after I requested an urgent appointment. This company clearly does not share my sense of urgency nor is it rushing to honor its warranty, as indicated by the slow walk in getting back to me. I have no confidence in their work or their guarantees. I have arranged for a different company to inspect my gutters even though this should be covered by the warranty. Don't use this company! They damaged the fascia around my home. The owner gave me a $200 credit on a couple thousand dollars job and I had to hire someone else to fix it all. I also bought gutter guards from them and a different product than what I was shown was installed. When I asked him about it, his attitude was "big deal". Also several of my corners leak now. When I decided to add rain gutters to my house, like everyone else, I researched and found that Idaho Customs Rain Gutter is highly rated. So, I decided to go with them even though their price is slightly higher than their competitors, but their quality will make up for it. However, I am very disappointed when one of my downspouts is properly installed and the second one is about 8 inches above the ground. I called and talked to David; he is the customer service manager said the "downspout could be 2-12 inches above the ground, and he would not fix it. If I want to get it lower, I'll have to pay an additional $200. At this point, I have nothing else to say but feel disappointed in Idaho Custom Rain Gutter. read more

I had idaho custom rain gutter add 3 sections of gutter on my upper level and 2 chains on my house. They made the process as easy as could be. They showed up on time. Left me good information. Promptly sent a proposal. Followed up with no pressure and she awarded the work they got it done in an easy and professional manner. Let's face it. Here's my version again with additional details: Regarding the child; I only know the individual that appeared to be the "Lead Worker" was supervising the child. I do not care who the child belongs to. The point is bringing a child onto a work site is not a good idea. This exposed me to liability; it was also unprofessional. I mention it now as it is yet another indication of how unprofessionally your company and your employees conduct business. It was also unprofessional to leave sharp machine screws in my lawn and driveway (which again punctured a tire on my wife's truck) and metal brackets that washed off the roof onto my lawn later on during a rain event. I called your company at one point to respond but only received a recording. And this is the ultimate irony; the recording indicated you and your entire staff was unavailable for a few days due to the staff attending a communications class! How interesting... All of you could certainly benefit from learning to communicate more effectively! After cleaning up the tree debris/damage, I decided to go elsewhere for the gutter covers. I didn't want your truck parked in my tree again. I have worked with other contractors that respect private property and don't cause damage. That is why you were not asked back. Of course you didn't bill me for the gutter covers. Again, I told you not to bother with the covers after all the trouble. Regarding the tree your crew busted up; my house is located at the end of a ¼ mile private road that terminates in front of my house in a large cul-de-sac. If your crew had taken the time to look at the other side of my driveway, they would have notice a larger, unobstructed area that their tall utility truck would have easily fitted into without damaging my property and would have provided ample access to the back of said truck, and the machinery inside, to roll the new gutters out of. I also have a long driveway that would have worked equally well. I am tired of hearing from you and Tina about how space is needed to do the work. The space was/is here without destroying my tree! Using the excuse you and Tina have given me, I'm surprised you didn't park on my front lawn! Your crew never asked where they could park. By the time I found your truck in my tree, the work was already in progress and it wasn't until after they left that I found the damage. Again, I did observe the 'second worker' forcing a ladder into the tree on top of the truck. The damage was not apparent until after the truck was gone. The crew never asked me where the truck could/should be parked. It was already in place by the time got outside and the crew was at work. Regarding the 'miscommunication' on the gutter covers; I did call and let Tina know what I wanted in the way of gutter covers. This was after I received your digital estimate detailing the gutter covers you offer. Obviously she didn't effectively or completely at least, communicate this to the crew. The crew again, did have some written indication as to the covers I had ordered as they found some paper work in the truck when I brought the subject up. So again, yet another example of an internal communications failure on your part. No one has ever called to address the leak in the new gutter over my kitchen window; I told Tina about the leak over the phone. Again, cricket city as she was too busy telling me the truck had to be parked where it was so the work could be done. I was not aware of your online warranty process and I could try that approach. But after all that has happened, I doubt you will honor a warranty. The leak was not obvious of course until we had rain some time later. If I had it to do over, I should have taken this matter to small claims court. All of this is my fault according to you. All my concerns have been deflected back to me. Interesting customer relations... To other current or potential customers reading this: Look at the other Yelp Reviews that are presently noted as "Not Currently Recommended". I've no idea why Yelp does this. Wish I had seen these reviews before I hired this firm. There are two other customers/potential customers that have had trouble communicating with Idaho Customer Rain Gutters. They too have posted negative reviews. There is a serious problem with this firm as to how they treat customers or potential new customers and HOW THEY COMMUNICATE! My experience is not unique. Check the review from Rod R. on 6/25/2020. His experience also indicates a huge communications gap within the company and particularly Tina's rude attitude. Also note Rod R.'s experience was around the time I had trouble. After receiving a few bids Idaho custom rain gutters was very price competitive and the most knowledgeable. From the time Scott showed up for the estimate to the install they were very prompt. The crew was very nice and respectful. I didn't see any debris or screws left anywhere, which worried me because we have 3 small kids. In terms of longevity, it's been 2 years now and the gutters are working like day 1, not a single leak on our 5,000 sq ft house. I immediately received a an email response stating that they would be forthcoming with something(?) within 24-48 hours. 4 days later on 11-13-20, I called their office and was told by the women who answered the phone that the request was not received. So either I received the noticed of receipt email from some other Idaho Custom Rain Gutter company or my project was not worthy of responding to in a meaningful manner. This was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have EVER experienced! I requested new gutters and agreed to a quote over a month ago. They were originally scheduled to be installed the week of the 22nd. They tried to schedule me earlier, but then said the gutter color I wanted was out of stock and they had to order it. I never received even a phone call to tell me they couldn't get it in time for the new appointment. Then they came out several days later and said the gutters were too muddy to do them that day (my gutters are very clean)! I told them if they couldn't do it that day then I will just wait for my originally scheduled week of the 22nd. It is now the 25th and they are telling me it will be some time next week, if they can fit me in! They claimed that "I" cancelled the earlier visit, when it was the installers that decided not to proceed. I tried to work with them but they blamed me for the scheduling problem and refused to work with me! Tina was extremely rude, curt and condescending! Worst customer service ever!
