Great spot to dive if you know how, but may not be the best place for learning how to dive. My…read morefamily was learning how to dive in the area, and the staffs and instructors were very good. I was jealous of how their first dives were in warm ocean water with a castle in their backdrop. However, they struggled with learning in the ocean due to poor visibility (and would have benefited from a pool session). Even so, the dive sites in the area were spectacular - with underwater ruins and thermal vents. The cost of the dives was comparable with other Western countries, and we had no issues whatsoever. They also have a collaboration with a local hotel - making the trip even easier to plan. Highly recommend.

This was a very difficult adventure to track down for some reason. They've done episodes on…read moreNational Geographic about this scuba diving excursion. It's an underwater city with perfectly preserved mosaic flooring. They have taken some of the artifacts and put in the museum and replaced them with replicas. They will also take you to an area where there are volcanic heat vents that you can feel through the sand. You can also visibly see the sulfur. These are relatively beginners level dives and they also over discover scuba. They only bad thing is it's very silty, so if you have bad divers, your viz will be shot. You will see a ton of cuttlefish! They are literally all over the place.
