Pros: *Receptionist was prompt and really friendly. *The shop was very clean and even decorated tastefully. I was with my best friend. We decided to get tattoos. I called and they asked for us to come down. We did and were scheduled for a 7pm appointment for a simple tattoo of 2 black tiny birds. Literally anyone can draw them. When we came back at 6:50, we sat. I had already paid $41 for a "down payment" So we waited. The reception boy Will left. And we waited. We went to the restroom and waited some more. An hour later, having never been addressed, never been talked to, never been asked to reschedule, nothing...we left. I called the reception boy and he told me he never took my $41 "downpayment" really? So why is there a charge? Why is there a MEMORY??? Gaslight much? I'll never go back in there. In July, I was plagued with chronic headaches that nothing would soothe. I had heard about a daith piercing, and I had gotten to the point where I would try anything. My sister who has had quite a few piercings, recommended I go to Idle Hands, so we went. I was a little nervous as I had never had a traditional piercing (only mall piercings with guns), and I wasn't sure what to expect and had read that this particular piercing can be painful. Dan, the current owner, was friendly and answered my questions and had said that he had found that he was 100% successful with this piercing relieving headaches. He talked through the actual piercing moment which put me at ease, and the worst part of the actual experience was closing the ring. While healing, I had some issues (when I got my very first piercings I had to let them close up due to infection, so I expected it to not be totally smooth), and I went back in, showed it to him, and he gave me some advice on how to take care of it. Now my piercing has completely healed, and I have had tremendous results with my headaches. I would recommend anyone with chronic headaches to look into this piercing and have Dan perform it. The cost of the piercing, including the jewelry, was $40 (the "premium" ring with a jewel was $10 more). I was able to pay with my card, however, some artists have signs stating cash only, so be sure to check with your artist to confirm whether they are able to accept a card. read more

My sister and I had such a good experience getting tattoos here. We came in only a couple hours till close and they were super friendly about everything. They weren't intimidating and made sure to be very precise about what exactly we wanted. It was her birthday and Ol Crow tattoo shop turned us down after waiting 45 min because their artists "had migraines". They also told us they'd have to change our designs because it wouldn't look good at the other shop. Idle Hands was so open and friendly and super willing to make our tattoos look how we wanted. The artist, Ty Dough, even made sure we weren't in too much pain and had great conversations with us. Seriously, I've never had a better experience anywhere else. The prices were great, he worked with us having issues with the ATM, and gave us his card to come back if any lines were messed up. Seriously a fantastic experience and my sister was so glad she had such a good experience on her birthday. Don't bother with the other shops. This place is the best. I've also gotten a tragus and cartilage piercing here in the past and it was great as well. Their new shop is beautiful on the inside also! They stayed open an hour late for us. Horrible service! I walked in asking for a small 4 letter tattoo, J.Coop told me to come back at 3:30 after I showed him what I wanted and he had me give a deposite. I come back at 3:30 for my appointment and I had to wait for him to sketch out the letters. So I wait.... I ended up Waiting over an hour and a half for a tiny simple 4 letter tattoo (also this was an appointment) .. The ENTIRE time I was waiting, J.coop was more focused on talking and hanging out with his friend than getting this tattoo started.. When I walked over to cancel the whole thing, because at this point I just felt uncomfortable with even getting tattooed by him, he coincidentally had the sketch finished and was ready to begin .. when i explained how I felt and how I am literally just watching him hang out with this girl and laugh the whole time he didn't seem to even care then he refused to give me my deposit back.. Just plain un professional, don't waste your time or money here!! read more

So done with giving this place second chances. Today was the third strike. 1) They really screwed up my ear piercing- thank goodness Sailor's got me in asap and fixed it. 2) Came in on Friday to get a new piercing with my friend. We filled out the papers and then later found out that the piercer couldn't get us in (receptionist said he ran out of materials but we watched him walk out of the shop before she even said anything). She told us to come in on Tuesday after 5 and they would give us a $10 discount. 3) We came in today after 5 and the piercer wasn't even there- nor was the receptionist. We have given up with them and made appointments at a different shop. Idle Hands has been so unprofessional and I'm so disappointed. read more

I have been tattooed be several artist, no "big" complaints about any of them... Idle hands brought my artist (Kham Smith) in as an apprentice around a year ago. I know the owners fairly well and would say they are good guys! Dan (1 of the owners) is a great artist, he personally hasn't done a tat on me but I have seen lots of his work and feel comfortable saying he possesses great skill. Wayne (1 of the owners) is very business savvy and is well known in the bike community! This is a new location in old town, very clean and sanitary :) Kham (my artist) is one of 3 I think & is fantastic!! My friend and I went in to Wichita at the beginning of January for a doctors appointment and made a girls day out of it. We made the decision to stop in and get piercings. The receptionist was very friendly and eager to help us but said that they were full for the piercing schedule and told us we could talk to Dan (the owner and piercer) to see if he could squeeze us in. We chatted with him for a bit and after realizing that we were three hours out and don't get to town often he said he could definitely get us in since we came so far. We waited for a bit and were happy to, even made new friends while we waited. We were the last piercings of the day and got exactly what we asked for. We both have beautiful piercings (I got double daiths). I also had a chance to talk to a couple of their tattoo artists and they all have amazing personalities and amazing artwork you can look at in their portfolios. Do not recommend for piercings. Customer service at the front was very poor. We called and were told to come in at a certain time and ended up waiting about 3 hours before they took us back. The guy doing the piercing was rude and rough. He would barely speak to us and when my sister wanted her piercing in a different place, he responded with "I've been doing this a long time, that's a good spot." Even though it's not what she wanted. Then he made her bleed uncontrollably and didn't seem to care or inform her how to take care of it. He basically just stabbed us, demanded payment, and kicked us out. This was the worst experience I have had. The tattoos may be great, idk. But consider a different place if all you want is a piercing. read more

I have received a tattoo from Dan and I have taken my daughter and niece for piercings. Never have I had an issue. Dan and I talked about my tattoo for a while, which put me at ease, and he was honest about which placement would have the best long-term outcome. Thought we would have to have an appointment but we got right in with just a short wait. I was a bit nervous because I had never been in a tattoo/piercing establishment. Myself and 3 of my friends went here for piercings. We all 3 got the triple forward helix piercing, done by the owner of the shop. He seemed not happy about having to do the piercings as it is apparently a difficult piercing to do, but did not say that he was not adept or comfortable doing this piecing. The piercings were painful and seemed to be a lot of work, but we thought that this was just normal for this particular piercing. We paid $100 each, and this was for their upgraded "premium jewelry". Our ears all look very red and swollen, but as this is normal for most piercings, we assumed they would look good after the swelling went down. Flash forward to today, approximately 1 month after receiving these piercings. We are back home in Oklahoma City, and the middle earring of my friend's triple forward helix has receded back into her cartilage. The front stud of the earring is not visible, as it is embedded in the middle of the cartilage. It is very red, swollen, and painful. We decide to go to a very reputable piercing shop in OKC to have it looked at to see if they can adjust the earring and fix the issue. The piercer at this shop takes one look at my friend's ear and is stunned at how horrible of a piercing job it was. He said there was absolutely nothing done right with the piercing and that all of the rings needed to come out of her ear immediately. He looked at mine (which had been healing fine) and said mine is also a hack job, and all of mine need to be removed as well. He said the piercings are all facing different directions, not done straight through, and would never heal properly. He also said that you should never be able to see the backs of the earrings with a triple forward helix. You could see the backs of all 3 of our piercings. Also, the "premium jewelry", he said can be purchased online for somewhere in the range of 5 cents a stud. He had to physically cut one of my friends piercings, as he said that whoever put it in had stripped the screw portion of the earring. I also had mine removed, even though I wasn't having issues, because I do not want mine to heal in the manner that they were pierced. I should mention that the shop who removed them did not benefit even remotely by our business. We did not pay to have the piercings removed, and they did not try and sell us additional piercings or jewelry. He had no intentions other than to salvage our ears. We are extremely infuriated that we were duped into letting someone who is not proficient in this specific piercing perform it on us. I would be very very weary of having any piercings done at this shop. read more

Bobbi (?) did a great tattoo on my husband that wasn't the problem. The receptionist was the one telling the artist what the people wanted. Bobbi then drew it and was starting to place the design only to find out that the receptionist didn't tell her that my husband wanted lettering to. Why didn't this artist actually talk to my husband before the mock up? Also I was there to get a tattoo myself but was ignored. I was spoken to once by the receptionist and she made the decisions it seemed. We will never be back as the service was terrible.We were there for over an hour with a tattoo artist not working on a client. The receptionist acted as if Bobbi was the only tattoo artist in the place. Oh and I don't enjoy a tattoo shop filled with teenagers who the receptionist was more than happy to explain in detail how to get notarized notices from parents. One girl was gone less than ten minutes before she had her magically notarized paper. read more

It's the only place I've ever gotten an infected tattoo and I've got a sleeve from prison and a lot of other tattoos.... I had to go to the hospital from the owner tattooing me.....other than that their line work and every thing is shaky at best. Most of the guys here are great artists and great people. Dart Daugherty is neither. This guys is an absolute flake of business man and an embarrassment to this shop. I put money down with him and he was completely unreachable to make an appointment. When he did actually make something vague would come up and he'd cancel. This happened for months before he became a total jerk about it. I consider my incredibly lucky that I was able to get my deposit refunded from him.
