I have been a patient of Dr. Watts for quite some time now, and since I haven't been feeling all…read morethat awesome lately, I have been in a few times to see him. Montreal is lucky to have a great Doctor in Rheumatology, and Immunology.
You know those doctors that kinda look all hurried and rushed all the time, and sometimes makes you feel like you shouldn't have sat down because they don't have time for you? That's not how he is.
He's got pretty long wait times (we're talking like a few hours potentially), so if you have an appointment, you kind of have to clear a chunk of your day to organize for it, but its worth it because, you know that you can talk to him about everything going on and he's going to figure things out for you. Plus when I was still in school, I would bring my school work, or when I was working I would bring my laptop, or books etc.
I just went yesterday to see him, and he's swapped offices, and moved into a new one on Sherbrooke between St-Marc and Du Fort. It's spacious and offers a lot more room than the old one.
So here are the other reasons why he's great:
- He has a fantastic administrative team, Carmon and Stephanie that are friendly, and helps get things done.
-He listens to you, and your problems, and when he says he will get back to you, he means it
- He's resourceful: He's got a bunch of respected colleagues that have been able to see me, and they are all quite reputable themselves
- He cares about the way I feel: As a person with long term conditions, he still asks how life is, what I'm up to, and takes into account the best ways to help me knowing that I do have certain financial restrictions
- He takes into account my life picture - meaning, he tries to help me find ways to have a good quality of life, based on me, not on what everyone else is doing
-Sometimes he gives you the "look" when you admit to doing something silly, but he doesn't judge you for it
- He works really crazy late hours to make sure everyone gets seen ( he's there sometimes at 730am and I also have known him to be there at 7pm)
Fun Facts
- He has a sense of humour
-He uses fountain pens with ink pots
-He likes cinnamon, blueberries and chocolate, (not in that order or in that combination)
-He's got nice plants so the office isn't stale and boring
-He seems to collect rocks, cause there are lots around his office
I know that his services are not going to be mainstream for most people, but you know when you feel sick and you don't have family to depend on in the city, it's super nice to know that your doctor and his office cares about how you are doing, Also its nice to know something about Doctors before you go and see them, if you don't know them at all. We review all sorts of things, why not medical offices?
