Time for an update, and not because they've become 'worse' (human tendency to dwell more on the negative...) First, since I neglected to mention in my original review, a half star extra for their clever name - 'clever' if you speak Mandarin or Putonhua: you see, the 'I' in iFresh is a homonym for 'love' in that Chinese dialect! In other words, not only is their English moniker leveraging all the 'i' this and 'i' that, but it smartly says "LOVE fresh". I would not have mentioned that if it did not live up to its name. On this most recent visit, I DID find pretty good 'fresh' in their produce section - which I'd mentioned in my previous review they've really tidied up (as they have much of the rest of the store). More encouragingly, they have come around to the concept of competitive pricing, AKA "give the customer a reason to come into your store". Sales will come and go - that's true of any grocery stores, not just Asian ones. So, I'm not disappointed that their yu choi tips were relatively pricey at 1.99/lb. But they were very fresh - great quality! They had taishan cauliflower for 98 cents a pound, which is a great deal by at least 50% compared to any store that even carries it. It's not across-the-board fresh or great pricing: lotus root, on the other hand, was both pricey and - wrapped up in plastic - not very appealing even if they gave it away. Still, what this latest experience has taught me is that I can no longer discount iFresh as a legitimate place to pick up fresh stuff. That's useful to have under my belt, as that trek across to the other side of I4 (where Lotte and First Oriental are) could be painful, especially during certain times of the weekday. read more

We need a last-minute grocery shopping for a hot pot party for about 10 people. Knowing that they are closing within an hour, they still allowed us to enter and even offer a lot of assistance in finding the appropriate items. Know that the people who work there are through Asians, so they are very direct in the communications. No sugarcoating. Which is kind of why it is fun to shop there because they would low-key yell at you for not knowing what you need for ingredients in your own dishes. Silly things aside, iFresh is probably one of the best Asian market in Central Florida, if not the best one. Unlike many other Asian stores where they They keep this store extremely clean and organized, prices are very competitive compared to 1st Oriental/ Enson and seem to be better than Lotte, and they do have a Chinese kitchen area where you can order some quick Chinese food fixings. Definitely deserves five stars! read more

I enjoy just walking around the seafood department and checking out the live blue crab, shrimp and frogs. The prices seem reasonable in the fruits and veggie department. 5 Stars for a super clean Asian grocery store with fresh produce, meat, and fish, as well as quick takeout (DIM SUMMMMMM). After going to a few local specialty grocery stores in the neighborhood, we stopped by iFresh and I was immediately impressed by the appearance of the shop. It's located inside an old Win Dixie, but unlike the previous tenants (after WD, but before iF), the place was redone completely. It has brand new faux-wood floors, and the aisles are spotless. We ended up buying a ton of ingredients for various soups and as we were headed to checkout, saw their incredible selection of dried mushrooms (almost a full aisle dedicated) and stocked up on that too. The produce was fresh and well-marked and they have local Lake Meadow Farm eggs... In terms of service (they have a quick takeout inside as well), there weren't a ton of folks available to ask and one gentleman was stocking the fruit and just couldn't understand my request for limes. But I was lucky to be with a friend who grew up in these stores and helped me navigate what can be intimidating for a newbie. Overall, this spot was really clean and new and full of so much good stuff that I have yet to discover. It's a great addition to the hood and I'm glad they took over the space. read more

Wanted to browse and stock up on Asian ingredients and ramen so I headed over to iFresh. I was very pleased with it! It's the size of a medium grocery store luck Sprouts or the late Luckys . Seemed to cater to more Chinese food but had all the other Asian food represented as well. They had a whole side of an aisle for ramen but surprisingly not a lot of variety. Perhaps the only negative of the place. I loved the refrigerated section which had every kind of fresh noodle you can imagine. Plus some kimchi (but not as much as HMart). The frozen section had I think every kind of frozen dumpling in the world. And a ton of frozen seafood. But then they had a whole fresh seafood counter with tons of fresh whole fish. Even live frogs! The butcher section was good but they were out of galbi cuts of rib eye. Produce section was huge and everything looked fresh. Lotte Market is bigger and better but much further from me. So I'll probably be hitting up iFresh more often when I need to go deeper than my local Eastside Asian Market. read more

I came here with my boyfriend to look for sea urchin. Heard a while ago they occasionally have some in stock. But we no one spoke English at the seafood department. I speak Chinese but I don't know how to say sea urchin in Chinese. :( But the store is clean, I noticed they did some remodeling since my last visit. The prices seem reasonable. I'm going to do something I never do: Throw a bone to a fandom. This place is the TARDIS of Asian food stores. It looks hella small from the outside, but is packed with every country's favorite cuisine and condiments. You want Thai. OK. Well, there's the fish sauce and the Kecap Manis, and the Thai basil. Sriracha. Well, I mean... of course. The rice noodles. A given. You want seafood. Frozen, live, dead, zombie fish... I didn't check, but I bet there's probably some flounder just swimming around going "Braaaains..." Yeah. It iFresh doesn't sound particularly "ethnic", but I promise you, it's ethnic AF. Honest to God, I was walking around in the produce section trying to find some basil, and I couldn't find it, because there were too many plants... Like, nope. That's cilantro. WTF is this? Can you smoke it? Nope. That's kefir lime leaf. This over here? No. I don't know what this is. Seriously, I've been to Asian markets before, but never one with this kind of selection. I mean, good luck. If you wanted to subtract a star, maybe you could, but only for "paralysis of analysis." Mainly because, well, like good luck choosing. After reading another Yelper review, I had to go and experience this market. Very cool with tons of oriental products. Vegetable selection is really good and found some rare fruits as well. The seafood/meat department is really well stock with excellent prices. If you like dumplings, check the frozen isle, I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection. Also, checkout their bakery and small (tiny) restaurant where you can buy roasted duck and pork, dim sum items, and many more. It is a bit far for me, but will definitely make the trip again. read more

iFresh (lol) bought up Mia so things are changing around here. Hmn... Mia's review: Mia's is a Pan-Asian/Oriental grocery blended with some Latin, British, and Imperial things. You can find coffee from Cafe' du Monde, for example. It's the Easter eggs that makes it fun shopping here. There's like a whole isle dedicated to dried mushrooms!! They have an exciting abundance of interesting seafood and there's also a good bit of produce including some relatively unobtanium stuffs like fresh jackfruit, durian, dragon fruit, and the like. Also plenty of canned jackfruit for my vegan-iffy-ish friends here. There's a wall of interesting libations but the wine, sake, and beer choices on the obverse end of the store are small. There weren't too many frozen vegetables leaving us thinking maybe it's an American thing. Lots of frozen dim sum choices though and even some interesting frozen Indian bits. Plenty of meats, running the length of the rear of the store, and interesting seafoods along the right flank. Interesting as in nothing like Pubix. Lots of "live" stuff right out of the fish tank. All sorts of pastas I've never even seen before - lots of choices. Sensory overload on the sauces, noodles, dim sum, and dried mushrooms. Lottery at the front. Some sort of cell sales or repair too, was all in my peripheral. Was also something about cheap lunch can be had here; didn't look for it, didn't see it, but must come back and report more in an update. Oh, and though we didn't shop it, couldn't help but notice the bakery looked so much better than when Winn Dixie was here. Lots of really good looking and smelling baked goods. iFresh Market is the cleanest and most organized Asian supermarket in East Colonial Mills area compared to the many Asian markets I've shopped at. There is cooked meals and a bakery. The cooked meals area were closed when I went on a weekday in the evening, so maybe call the store to ask in advanced. I just bought Wei Wei rice noodles that were on sale and plastic chopsticks. What a fun visit I had to this place. I wish I had more time to look however I was with my mom who wasn't as amused as I was and they were getting ready to close. As with many Asian groceries in the area they have little booths around the outside edges of the store where people rent them and so pastries and medicinal products and sell phones and other such stuff however by the time I got there none of them were there any longer. They had a great selection of all things Asian and the prices were surprisingly good. They were much better than prices in Jacksonville. My go to place for anything Asian and seafood. The only place I can find live blue crabs. They have a wide variety of seafood and meat and groceries. They also have fruits and produce. We stopped in for some groceries, as well as a quick bite. Looks like their kitchen is under going some remodeling, but their bakery is open. So we opted for some Portuguese egg tarts and Hong Kong egg tarts. The Portguese style ones are shorter, with a more flaky crust, but this crust was a bit too biscuit-y for my preference. However, their Hong Kong egg tarts here are epic! They are tall almost like a soufle, and the crust is very buttery. It's a masterpiece. We also got a taro bun with walnuts on top - which was a nice pairing, I haven't had before! The taro was in a paste form and reminded me of the almond paste you'd find in a nice croissant. It was lovely and sweet! We also got a pork bun, a gorgeous brown toasted bun with pork inside, great for around lunch time when you might be a little hungrier than usual. Thanks to the bakery team for the lollipop for my little one! She enjoyed the egg tarts, taro bun, and loved the pork bun, but having a lollipop to enjoy through the shopping experience was a highlight for her. We brought some favorites home like frozen kimchi dumplings and hot squid shreds (such a good bar snack). We opted to try some new things like these small melons I've never seen before, as well as some little sausages (I am planning to use the sausages for a claypot rice recipe). They were sold out of genmaicha tea, but I got some white tea instead. I'll be back for the genmaicha! Lastly, we got some bok choy, and there were tons of different kinds! I don't know, where to start. My last evening experience was horrifying. I went to the fish department at 7:55 pm. I knew, they were cleaning, etc. So I approached carefully asking if I could still make a purchase.Fish- department guy Carlos told me "yes", I chose my fish and looked to shop around. Well, this Carlos dude began to throw buckets and fish pans around calling me names that I made him to do his job (maybe mental, maybe something else). All he had to do is to tell me:" we are not selling fish for today". I would walk away. But keep in mind, the store closes at 9 pm. It got escalated. I went to a cashier and explained her of what's going on, but the problem is: most of them don't speak any English. However the cashier understood me. We went to the fish department together and that's when( i do believe that Carlos employee was under influence) began to attack me.I was fear, he would hit me. I told him to calm down to no avail. I had to call 911. I didn't want him to get arrested, I talked to cops but this should haven't happened!!! Be aware. Approach this store at your own risk. read more

Mia; you're pretty fantastic, I knew you would be. I love that the first thing I see when I round the corner is a bakery full of so many appetizing varieties of baked goods to choose from, but you know what makes it even better? That the baked goods actually have good flavor and aren't packed with loads of sugar like so many confections out there, not to mention the price point is pretty sweet. I love that your shelves are well stocked and organized Mia, and that you have a good variety of kimchi to choose from, I ended up taking home a brand I've never tried before. How wonderful it is Mia that you offer such a wide variety of seafood, including items that aren't available in regular supermarkets but are known to be under-rated culinary masterpieces like razor clams, and sea snails. I came to check it out and was pleasantly surpriaed at how clean and organized it was. Theres a huge selection of asian goods as well as ordinary fresh vegetables and meats. The proces were very nice as well. I hope to come esrlier next time so i can shop at the bakery and coffe shop inside. This iFresh market is where Winn Dixie used to be. Owned by a mainland Chinese, this market has almost everything for dishes of Asian cuisine. They even have a sushi stand inside where they will make sushi made-to-order for you. In addition, they have live seafood section selling all kind of seafood such as stripe bass, tilapia, lobster, crab, eel and clam. They will make the fish for you for free, cutting the fin, taking out scales, and pulling out the gut. Their meat section are fresh and their service is great. They will cut the bones for you and get any piece of meat at you request. The isles are full of stuff from China, Vietnam, Thai and Indonesia. They even have their own bakery that makes fresh pastry products daily. Behind the bakery they have pork Cha xiu stand. I always get my pork Cha xiu here since it's the best in town. The cashiers are pretty fast I don't have to wait for long. They will also help you find any stuff you need, sending you to the right isle. Pay it a visit you won't be disappointed. read more

The market is a lot bigger than it looks on the outside, and they had everything I needed in terms of produce, frozen dumplings and buns, seaweed, and Asian snacks/desserts. Things are a bit difficult to find because the aisles don't have labels, but if you happen to know Chinese or have a picture of what you're looking for, the staff are all very helpful. This is clearly for the customer service. Being asian I know what it is like when you shop at an asian market and experiencing doing returns with them. Its a pain in the butt. Well today I received so far the best customer service from an Asian market in orlando that surpassed most! I bought items a few weeks ago that after trying them in my test kitchen, They were too spicy for my taste. I couldn't find my receipt so I was frustrated keeping items in my pantry that I will no longer use. So this morning I attempted to try to return the items without a receipt and the lady at customer service who was also a cashier host was the one who assisted me with this transaction. I told her my situation with my items and she gladly said after a few humps that I can do an even exchange. She was not mean or difficult about it. When I found my items that I wanted to replace she scanned the items I wanted. I wanted to use my card to pay my items and she was easy about that too. Also she knew about my payment option which was a debit card transaction and for the amount I was paying she was unhappy to use a card for me to pay but she gladly accepted my card anyway. I couldn't catch her name but this lady kept telling me "I'm a customer and they should be accommodating to my needs and she would like to see me back to shop at the store again".. She was put to a test to see how far she would give the best customer service and I can attest she went above and beyond her position as a staff to make me satisfied with my experience at this store! My return was less than $4 and made my refund/even exchange (without receipt) stress free and a positive experience! It shows how management train their employees on customer service and satisfaction! Shopping here at Mia Supermarket have always been a good experience amongst the rest of the asian markets I do go to around Central Florida and based on today's experience and other times I have been pleased with their staff / cleanliness / food items and of course SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! All your asian needs! What did I get I had to get some groceries that I don't usually find in Publix or Target. Wide variety of groceries available. Now this supermarket is definitely clearer and smells better than the others that I have been to. Everything is neatly packed for the veggies and the seafood was also covered. There are also a BBQ and bakery shop inside that isn't part of the supermarket. Environment This supermarket is right off Bumby and Colonial. Parking can get limited but majority of the time there is enough parking. Niceness of the staff Did not have any interactions with the staff. I did have one incident where I was sending looking at the seafoods and the seafood guy was putting water on the foods and splash some water on me, but he didn't care. No apologies, nothing... It appears this location has undergone a recent renovation. They seem to be really trying with a spread of juice, tea, crackers and oranges for customers, at least on the Sunday afternoon I was there. They also had an employee handing out samples of Pocky, one stick at a time. One thing that is good about this market is its selection. You can find teas, for example, that I haven't seen the other Asian markets in Orlando. The prices are also not too bad. My primary concern is the service. I was holding three items to check out and standing behind someone with a mountain of items. Only one register was open. As three employees watched, one came over and invited the woman behind me to check out at the lottery desk. I found it inefficient to check the person behind me out first when I was already there and waiting longer. They also have a reusable bag promotion that was unclear to me because there was no advertising or signage describing how to get it. It is a big warehouse store for Asian community In Orlando. I liked it, but I will never go again. A gentleman in fish department, refused to cut the fish the way I wanted and making excusesand so rude. They have to teach their employee how to behave with customers. It is not asia, it is United States of America where people are polite and help customers always. He didn't know the language and babbling all sort of things in anger. The other employee always cut the same way and never refuses. I am going to that store since it has opened. Anyways it's very disappointing and frustrating, I went to another store and got the fish cut the way I wanted. I will never ever go there to get insulted. read more

This place used to be nice and clean when they upgraded lighting shelves and floor. (When it was called Mia) The staff are mostly Chinese and not friendly. No Hello, No Thank you unless of course you are Chinese. You ask for where something is, they say they don't have it. But then found it myself anyway, I don't know if the guy only spoke Chinese or what. The fish area had flies, so the bakery place that cooks all their cakes in the same bldg naturally will also have flies. Saw a guy in the bakery scratch his head then continued to frost or pipe cakes with no gloves. Touching his phone every few... One time I walked in there and it smelled like straight bleach, again with a food place, bakery items and fish out in the open They carry a very small amount of Items and the prices are higher than other oriental stores around the area. Vegetables are on the dirty floor. Checkout is extremely slow and, cashiers are transferring germs with everything they touch with their gloves. Oriental markets always start off fresh nice and clean then, It ages and becomes a dump. Check your receipts when you leave, I can't count how many times I was overcharged or charged for multiple items when I only purchased one of a particular item. I find myself visiting Mia more and more. I don't even frequent the other supermarket in this neighborhood as much anymore. Prices are decent. I like all the unique finds. At least, unique to me. There is a whole aisle of dried mushrooms! Dried mushrooms! I think that's fascinating. They have a good selection of produce. You can find durian and jackfruit and other exotic fruits. It's alright. Wanted to see what this place was about. Love how you can smell the fresh baked bread when you enter. The buns cost a bit higher than the norm up north. It's definitely cleaner than 1st Oriental. But the aisles are alot tighter when walking down. The vegetables aren't worth getting here. It's been tough to find fresh edible vegetables in the asian markets in Orlando. Meat and seafood is average in appearance and price. I don't care for 1st Oriental, but it would only make sense to continue going to them (distance wise) since iFresh doesn't have much specialty to offer. read more

Hmm, not sure what has happened but the level of quality in the store has gone down. Not only are there lots of fruit flies in the produce area, but there is the smell of very overripe fruits that are still for sale. There are always lots of boxes of unopened, unshelved goods that kind of clog the aisles. However, iFresh remains the cheapest option for Asian produce and products in the area, and their weekly sales are solid. Also, be sure to check out their bakery (coconut cream buns ftw!). read more

Yay Mia! Honestly, I find myself frequenting this grocery store a lot more frequently recently and I feel like that earns them the extra star. They got a new vendor for their BBQ duck and it is delicious - just make sure to go early on weekends for BBQ pork because they sell out :(. You can place an order to pick up later though! Also, they have super friendly cashiers and the smell has gone down (you know, that Asian grocery store smell). Still don't buy meat and seafood here, but their veggies are always awesome and I am obsessed with their baby Shanghai bokchoi. read more

I'm way past due for an update here. Since the store switched over to iFresh, things have definitely improved for the better. It's cleaner, brighter, and better organized. For the most part produce is consistently good quality, and much cheaper than other Asian markets in the area. I've switched over to iFresh as my primary store for the Asian vegetables that I buy every week. I feel bad for not patronizing the other stores, but when iFresh is half the price, not to mention a better shopping experience, it's hard to justify going anywhere else. read more

I waited for this store to open for a while, but forgot to write a review! The opening ceremony was grand but the food venue that were offered weren't great. They were expensive and soggy. The shows were a great entertainment which many families enjoyed. Parking was hectic but during business days, the parking lot is vacant. Once you walk in you'll see the colorful bakery! I love their buns, baos, and pastries. They are one of the few bakeries that still stand by the Buy five get one free promotion. I have to admit, I love their products! My favorite is the black forest cream bun, the hot dog bun, pineapple custard bun (it has a pineapple jelly filling in the middle, not the original pineapple bun that has a glaze on top), the scallion dried pork bun, and the chocolate heart bun. There were a few more that I bought but it slipped my mind on which ones they were. Many yelpers were mentioning how clean this establishment is but I want to focus on their customer service! Their cashiers were very nice and diverse! The elderly lady was more than welcoming and she had a great sense of humor! I spoke to her in our native tongue. The man at the customer service desk was very personal! I love to have a great conversation involving my culture. They taught and recommend which herbs are best for my situations. The products aren't as overpriced as the 1st spring market and other chinese stores. Its worth the drive out! Give this place a try. They also have some American products but they are more expensive than publix. Don't forget to try out a bun/bao on the way in! There are free samples. Went here because I heard they have inexpensive fruits. As soon as I walked in I felt as if I was in a different country. .Which was nice. It felt like it could be in Asia. The market had a slight smell, but really made the shopping experience more authentic to the Asian experience. The worker were very polite, even though a few spoke little English. The fruits were a steal when it came to price as well. The floors could be cleaned a little more. My favorite section was the snack aisle. It had so many unique snacks for Asia. It made me want to experiment and try it all. They also have a bakery within the store which is very unique. Overall this is a great experience for those that want to go to a great Asia supermarket and those that want to experience something that is close to the real thing. read more

There's a great selection of fresh and frozen foods; a lot of brands I am familiar with and some I can't wait to try. The bakery is where it's at though. I suggest getting there early to get the best pick of items, and Buy 5 get one free is a great deal! Their taro goodies are absolutely delicious, in addition to the dried pork bun.
