It was very busy, with a full parking lot but there was a enough space for people to get around in the aisles. This T&T was massive, with a wide range of fresh and frozen groceries and meats, seafoods, as well as a bakery, chinese bbq station and a variety of supplies. Everything was well-organized and the staff seemed friendly. My wife and I are visiting, we're staying at a hotel with a refrigerator and stovetop so got frozen beef, fresh mushrooms and package noodle soups that we could make for snacks. We didn't get too much because we intend to experience the local restaurants and businesses. I can't comment on how the prices normally are but it seemed like they reasonable by current U.S. standards. We used the self-check out which was straight forward.

On our first visit, my husband and I stopped by this location this past Thursday night, 7 pm. The hot bar, right by the bakery was packed. Everyone was trying to scoop up food to purchase for dinner. There really wasn't much left except fried rice and chow mein. Because we were hungry, my husband ended up choosing some dim sum (siu mai and har gow). I purchased these cute steamed character buns (because why not?). I was also so happy to find this one particular tea bag that is honestly one of the best Hong Kong style, but hard to find back at home in the US where I am from. The price at this particular location was pretty good since this item was on sale (but even at the full price, it is still cheaper than buying it back at home) and wished I had purchased all the remaining boxes to bring back home since the T&T Supermarket in Ottawa sells these at a higher price. When we came back for a second visit, it was nice to see an employee at the jian bing (Chinese crepe) station, since it was not available to be made fresh when we had visited the night before. I am not sure what the price was but kind of regret not having one made fresh for us during this second visit (this is the only supermarket that I have seen that even has this available inside a market. The Asian markets I have frequent back at home have wheel cakes made fresh for purchase though). I like that there is a large dining area in which you sit and eat your food items with a actually a few different places you can choose from (including outside). There are also restrooms available too. This market was clean and everything was nicely organized. Overall, it was easy to navigate the store. Would definitely come back if I lived in Montreal.

Eden is an independently owned grocery store that has lots of exotic imported foods, a good…read moreselection of organic foods and other items you would typically find at health food stores, and some prepared foods. I think the owners are Korean as they carry lots of Korean foods and the majority of their prepared meals are Korean. I have fond memories of Eden from when I was living in Montreal, first as a poor and starving undergrad, then as a poorer and more starving grad student, lol. I would typically buy my groceries at Segal's Market and Marche Lobo, but when I had some extra money (i.e. after my birthday and Christmas) I would splurge at Eden. I love their baked goods display. Seeing knishes, arancini, empanadas, Jamaican patties, and samosas all together in one display is so symbolic of the cultural mosaic that is Canada. The sushi at Eden, although pre-packaged, is very good (for grocery store sushi) and much cheaper than at Loblaws and other such places. The grocery store is very clean and well lit. Staff are nice. There have been a few renovations over the years and it's much more modern looking now than when I lived in Montreal. There will always be a special place in my heart for Eden ;)

The manager who came to process the problem was aggressive and disbelieving of my complaint and told me that I only had 48 hours to return the produce. He eventually took them back but I was made to feel that I was in the wrong and he gave me a story that they spot checked fruit from the cartons. I offered that he should open up any of the untouched apples I was returning - I knew they were all bad. He declined and eventually gave me a refund. An altogether unpleasant experience. I don't know this man's name but I can find out who it was. They could do better and the manager could have been more accommodating and less could have had a less distasteful attitude.

When I arrived the first time, the staff were incredibly kind and helped lift me and my wheelchair over the small step at the front, which I really appreciated. Once inside, the aisles are spacious, well-marked, and easy to navigate with a wheelchair. Anything that was out of reach wasn't an issue at all because the staff were very friendly and happy to help. We made it work with their English and my French, which made the experience more enjoyable. My return visit the next morning was much smoother since it was daylight and I already had a sense of layout. The staff were even friendlier the second time around. The hot food was really good--maybe not as much variety as I'm used to, but still very satisfying. The chicken wings were fresh, hot and well prepared, the potato wedges were well seasoned, large and hot! Checkout was quick and easy, with registers at both the front and back of the store. Cashiers and staff are so so, but I tend to use the self-checkout, very convenient, accepts change. I would recommend they keep the can collecting machines cleaner though, often swarming with flies from dried beer and soft drinks residue.
