One problem I had was with the "Jingle" Christmas production they had one year. My parents took me to see it and while it was entertaining, I prefer a more reverent style of Christmas worship. It was so loud and flashy my brother who was around 7 at the time started crying and had to be taken out into the hall.

What can you expect at Richwoods? - Very casual atmosphere so no need to dress super fancy. You can even wear shorts in the summer! - Three services: 6 p.m. on Saturday (coffee shop style worship with popcorn and cookies being served), and 9/11:15 a.m. on Sunday (free donuts and coffee). - Very friendly for families with active ministries for kids, teens and college-aged students. There are even a few nursing rooms with a television inside of them so that you don't miss the sermon. - Contemporary and kind of rocky music. - A church that is "seeker friendly," but also good for Christians who have been walking in their faith a long time (although if you are the latter, definitely get plugged into a small group bible study for richer studies). My experience at Richwoods has been great. Staff is very friendly and sincere. Also had my wedding here, and it was a lovely, modern and minimalist venue. I cannot recall the exact price now, but I believe it was $300 (member)/$600 non-member to have your wedding here.

They have coffee and tea to make you at home. They are building a tree house for the young children. The Church also has a location in Washington, IL at ICC campus auditorium. The pastor's are all great as are the elders. The Youth Pastor gives the sermon regularly as well as the lead pastor and the elders. They have a very deep bench of leaders. It is very distracting and disrespectful to the point where I don't know why I'm even there sometimes. I'm not getting anything out of it. I've never been to or heard of another church that did this. I don't feel like parents are entitled to ruin things for the 200+ other people in the room because they don't want to put the baby in the nursery for one short HOUR. I never oppressed anyone and don't feel guilty for my heritage which I don't have control over. I'd be interested in other alternatives to conservative right wing republican churches but this is the only one in Peoria as far as I know.

I have never felt so poorly judged in a single facility before and personally people like this make me wonder if religion is even for me. Their worship leader (as I have been told via other attendees) has slandered a lot of community individuals in his "lessons" and it's things like that that make churches known for being a turn off location. Sad because I thought this place would be a decent facility to attend.
