KXNR is usually Rochester Minnesota's Greatest Hits but on Sunday morning, it's the classic AT-40's with the 70s from 6 to 9 am and the 80s from 9 to 1pm. KROC is a radio station in Rochester, MN. The AM band offers news and talk shows, similar to…read moreNEWSTALK 1010 in Toronto or CJOB in Winnipeg. The FM band is what my review focuses on. KROC 106.9 plays music, with entertainment, weather, and news highlights scattered throughout the day. It's top 40 music. It's a cross between the relaxed tone of CHUM 104.5 and the music vibes of KISS 92.5 in Toronto. When I moved to Rochester years ago, I basically brought a suitcase of essentials and me on a plane. I then furnished my apartment by gradually getting items as I went along. One of the first items that I bought was a clock radio. I still have it to this day and it works. I find that whenever I am in a new city, I turn on the radio to listen to what's happening locally. I liked what I heard on KROC and it became my radio station for two years as a Rochester resident. I tuned into the morning show before I headed into work every weekday. Back then, the morning show consisted of Tracy McCray and James Rabe. Both have since left and have moved to another FM station in Rochester. Small world! KROC is located in downtown Rochester. The building is unassuming. It's beige with small KROC letters on it. It's not like some of the neon signs that we see in Toronto for radio stations screaming out their call letters. Rochester is significantly smaller in population than Toronto, but is still deemed a city. Hey, whatever works is good. It has been around since the 1960's. I liked the music. I got into Lifehouse, the band, thanks to this station, and more. I also learned what community activities were going on, which helped me figure things out as a resident. Luckily, streaming radio stations around the world can be easily done these days. I tend to tune in through a browser, but the station has an app that you can download, too. I'll occasionally check out what's happening on KROC, especially when I need my fix hearing a Minnesotan accent or two. (31)

The station is part of Townsquare Media Rochester and most of the commercials were hyperlocal and would be helpful for people who live in the city. I've been trying to get a hold of my tickets multiple times and stopped by Laser's studio office multiple times, I'm from out of town and they didn't have the tickets. They said they wouldn't give them to me for fear of me selling them. Then they said they didn't get them from the promoter, then they said they changed promoters. I received my tickets 3 days before the concert. I've been trying to make plans with my family who already bought tickets. I wasn't even sure I'd receive my tickets. Here is my conversation with them: Hey this is Darla Terpstra and I'm wondering if you got my tickets that I've won for Motley Crue, Def Leppard and such, I have been patiently waiting for 3 years. I'm beginning to think you don't have my tickets and gave them away?? Also when they promote a concert especially a big one like this it should be good seats not nosebleed seats otherwise what's the point of calling in to win them?? I've been to your radio station multiple times to pick up the tickets, also called multiple times with no answer. I'm trying to make plans with my family to go to this amazing concert. You said you wouldn't give them to me for fear of selling them. I won them and can do as I please. I have told you that I wasn't going to sell them. I just want to find out where they are so I can make plans with my family for hotel accommodations and such but I don't know if I'm going to get the tickets or not?? After all that they were nosebleed seats, couldn't see the jumbo tron tv, needed binoculars to see anything and the sound was so muffled you couldn't even sing along with the songs!

I also didn't like Holliwood 5. The programming has gone down hill sense Rick Dees quit the Weekly Top 40.
