We've been going back to IHOP for the last 2 months off and on and found that there is a cook that makes the eggs Benedict really well. I've had 2 different eggs bene and they were delicious. This restaurant chooses to give bad customer service each and every day they open. Unlike every other restaurant in town that manages to have a hostess to seat you and process your payment Ihop relies on their waitstaff to do it. Of course their waitstaff are doing their jobs waiting on people. That means you have to wait a long time to get seated and then wait AGAIN when you want to pay your bill. Communication was lacking, resulting in disappointment. While IHOP is known for its delicious offerings, this particular encounter left much to be desired. As I entered IHOP on 10/8/18 some people were leaving with an enormous dog. I walked to the counter & asked if they allowed dogs in this restaurant, to which they answered, "yes". I replied that is against the city & county health codes to allow animals around food. I was meeting friends there, so I sat down & had coffee but refused to order any food. Shortly afterward another woman walked past with another, quite dirty, dog inside the restaurant. As long as IHOP violates health codes I will not patronize this establishment. read more

Mom and I had lunch here on our drive home after visiting Sedona. We got sat right away and our waitress brought drinks. They were supposed to be diet but I think they were regular soda. She brought us both new ones right away. For entrees, mom had the French toast with a side of bacon. This is her go-to and it was good at this location. Nice crispy bacon. I had the turkey, bacon and avocado wrap. This was really good. The turkey was flavorful. Lots of avocado. Good sauce. Definitely a nice option if you don't want breakfast. Overall a nice IHOP. Overall, this iHop location is lazy and sloppy and provides consistent tasting, hot food delivered with terrible service. you will regret not traveling to Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel or even the Dennys one exit up. no guarantee those are better places but may provide a less filthy, blasé-type of establishment. Bathroom was trashed despite latest check 2 hr earlier. Trash can overflowed w paper towels; maxi pad wrappers cover the floor, in-stall receptacles leaked trash (sooo gross), unflushed toilets. Even the Trash can outside brimmed with trash thrown and blown everywhere. They did remove the loose bottles and yeah as we left but forgot? to empty the trash. Service was poor at best, but not rude or un-friendly, just cold and mostly nonexistent. Waitress used a tray to bring 2 coffees and 2 waters to the table. She then proceeded to spill one of the coffees, commented on how she can't believe she spilled it, and DID NOT clean it up. She just left it there! She didn't offer straws for the waters either. The kitchen produces food very slowly. During our 25+minute wait from ordering, our server checked on us a total of ZERO times. Meanwhile, another table received a free dessert and $2 comp for prolly bad service if I wagered a guess. Big screen TVs are off. Wall art is dirty (along w walls), and they are still playing Christmas music over a week after Christmas! Food tasted as expected from iHop. It was served hot and correctly. However the hashbrowns require comment and tasted like a chemical concoction of processed, dehydrated, preserved cardboard left to soak in barely potable water and crisped on the top edge. Get toast or more cakes instead. I would not return to an iHop unless there were no other restaurants around, including even the worst of the worst fast food joints. read more

I don't usually go to iHop, but every once in awhile I get a craving for the New York Cheesecake pancakes. We were headed home from a camping trip when the craving hit me, so we stopped at the IHOP in Kingman, AZ. We were seated pretty quickly and there seemed to be a lot of staff. After a few minutes, the waitress took our order. My son ordered a hamburger "doubled-up", which according to the menu means an extra Patty. The waitress looked at him and asked, "Do you mean you want an extra Patty on your burger?" That should have been my first red flag. I ordered my cheesecake pancakes and proceeded to wait for our food. While, we were waiting the woman at the table next to us complained that none of the syrups were in the correct bottle (blueberry in the butter pecan, etc.) and that her order was wrong. That should have been another flag, but all I could think about was my cheesecake pancakes. Finally, the food came and everything looked normal. I took about three bites of my pancakes and realized there was no cheesecake. I thought it was just me, because there were still strawberries. Bite after bite and no cheesecake. My whole reason for going there. My boyfriend asked for a refill on his diet Coke and it took the waitress ten minutes and four empty-handed trips in and out of the kitchen to bring his refill. Also, this is minor but I might as well mention it. I ordered the pancake combo that comes with eggs, meat, and hashbrowns. I told the waitress I didn't want eggs, because I have an allergy. Usually, I'm asked if I would like to substitute toast or something else, but not this time. Not really a big deal, since it's not the restaurant's fault I can't eat eggs, but since I'm here complaining I thought I'd bring that up, too. Next time, we will try Denny's. read more

While camping in Kingman, my daughter and I came here 4 times to eat. 3 times for breakfast and once for dinner. The first time, our service was slow, but the waitress was quite nice. The next 3 times, we got our food quickly. My daughter was obsessed with their kids pancake, bacon, and egg meal. She said is tasted great every time. I had the Strawberry Crepes breakfast 3 times, they were delicious, each time. The one dinner I had there, was the $ 6.99 Country fried steak. It was ok, not great. Have you ever wanted to give a place a 0 Star? Well that should be an option because this IHOP deserves nothing more than being shut down. Honestly, I find it worthless to review a corporate restaurant chain like IHOP, because most people won't even read the review. They care about their reviews JUST as much as they care for their customers. "Customers are always right." You will not find that posted anywhere. More like, whenever you're feeling overwhelmed yell at the customers and cry in a corner. I believe that's what is shown on their employee training video. Back to the review... waited a good 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Another 20 minutes for our food order to be taken. Then another 25 minutes for our food to come out. We asked what the ETA was on our food, roughly 5 minutes prior to it being brought out, to be told to be patient. 80% of our 5 person table are teachers. We are patient. When the food came out not ONLY was items not brought out, because the waitress forgot them, but the food was far from being warm. Let's just say our steamed broccoli was cold. We mentioned to the server that our food was cold and she replied with, "well what do you want me to do about it." Be the employee of a company and help the customer. The customer is not supposed to tell YOU what to do about it. We simply told her we are not sure what she can do about it, but we cannot eat the food cold and we were not very happy with the service. She stormed off and roughly 2 minutes later another server came to our table. She said, "who is not happy with their food?" We all said we weren't because it was cold. She said alright then you can't eat. She picked up all of the plates, including the plate my husband was actually eating off of... and said it's ridiculous that our server is crying and cannot come back to the table. So if we are not happy then we can all just leave and not eat. Prior to us waiting for forever to be served. I overheard another waitress asking our server if she would like help with the 5 person table since she was already handling a 12 Top of children, our waitress mentioned she can handle it. Obviously she cannot. Although a customer who was just sat decided to put her two cents in and mention that we were the ones who were being rude... she just caught the last bit of us saying we weren't paying for anything when the random server took our plates including food we were eating... The receptionist RAN TO OUR CAR knocked on the window when we were backing out and said "a customer said YOU were rude." We simply said, "we heard her and we just want to leave." She followed up by saying, "BUT SHE SAID YOU WERE RUDE." Like we should say sorry for our food being cold, and our server not being able to handle her job, and another server being completely unprofessional. No, we didn't even get ONE sorry, or apology, or solution. We just got booted for mentioning our food was cold. I can 100% guarantee you we were not being rude and the servers need management. Which, by the way, you may be wondering where was the manager? He was at another restaurant or on vacation, we aren't sure. If someone dares to reply, management per-say, and say it was Presidents' Day and it was busy. Y'all will be blown away to know that there were roughly 4 tables (if not more) open on one half of the restaurant. There were PLENTY of open tables. What I think happened here is our server could not handle her load and she panicked... poor service and non apologetic. We were blamed for our own poor service. This caused a backlog both coming and going. Waitress was efficient and courteous. However, I would like to give the cook a 5-star rating! My over-medium eggs were cooked PERFECTLY. For many years, I ordered Swedish crepes from IHOP. They were always delicious, with a big scoop of whipped butter and plenty of lingonberries. Not this time. The butter was minimal and unrecognizable, and there were few lingonberries. I asked for more and was given a small cup of (again) unrecognizable butter crumbles, which did not melt on my crepes. I was left with flavorless, plain crepes on my plate, which I could not bring myself to finish. Service was inattentive and apathetic. The TWO servers I had seemed not to care. A bill of over $13 for crepes and a drink. Not worth it. I really don't think this IHOP has much time left. I, for one, will not be going there again. Kingman has plenty of restaurants. Awful is a strong word but is not quite strong enough for Ihop. We were seated promptly and drinks were delivered. There in lies the start of our problems. One drink was brought out in a dirty glass. One drink was just plain incorrect (was supposed to be a tropical drink, but got a strawberry one instead). After drinks arrived, we placed our order, then settled in for a wait. It has now been over an hour and we still do not have our food. The orders were simple, 2 split decisions and an order of blueberry pancakes. Only 8 tables in the store being used. Two wait staff, one cook. Food finally arrived. It's simple to see the backlog is in the kitchen. Of the two split decisions, two pancakes are large enough to fall off the plate. The other meals pancakes are about 3/4 the size and paper thin. We eat here a few times a year but this is the worst visit we have ever had here. read more
