I came to IHOP expecting pancakes, not an attitude problem. The lady who took my order was unbelievably rude from the moment she walked up--no greeting, no patience, and a tone that made it feel like I was inconveniencing her by simply being there. She cut me off while I was ordering, acted annoyed when I asked a simple question, and made the whole interaction uncomfortable and awkward. Customer service should be the bare minimum in a restaurant, and this was the exact opposite. If you hate dealing with people this much, maybe a front-facing job isn't the right fit. What could improve???? EVERYTHING surrounding my experience. I placed an order for Curbside and when I arrived at the designated curbside space NOBODY would answer the phone. I waited 7-10 mins because I had my young child in the car with me. Finally I had to unload my kid and go inside. Once inside I had to wait an additional 10 mins to even be acknowledged. The hostess even looked directly at me and another customer standing at the front counter and she just turned around and continued talking with a waitress. The Sunday morning/ afternoon shift at this IHOP can't seem to get it together. 7 of 10 times they've got something wrong with my order! I started using Uber Eats for home delivery and they not only took way too long, delivering me cold food when I am just down the road, but after my first order they kept getting it wrong.. Giving two stars because if you come at breakfast or during a busy time, service is okay. Food is pretty on par with any other ihop. However, if you come late at night, the servers literally ignore you until you leave. We were in there this evening and waited at the front for about 20 minutes watching server after server look at us, look away and walk off. It's one thing if the restaurant is busy but it wasn't, there were two tables eating and four servers walking around, very blasé, not seating anyone. The fewer the diners the slower waitstaff seems to get. But I didn't come for fine dining so I was pleased that the BLT and especially the onion rings came out hot with very little wait. School was canceled because of the painful cold and plague. We had 3 kids with us all day while we had to work. Nothing sounded better than paying a visit to the International House of Pancake. Três leches pancakes, crapes, chicken and waffles, strawberry French toast. Nothing sounded better after a long cold week and our first outing after recovering from Covid. We also had another family with us. Friends and delicious food, what could go wrong? But life was not willing to award us with the food that built America. When we arrive they had informed us we would have to wait 20 minutes and they may not be able to seat us together. I let them know that we could sit in separate booths or break up the party. After waiting 40 minutes with 7 children in our group they told us they could not seat our party. Not separately and not if we waited. We inquired if the people behind us would be seated and they said they would have to wait. We said we would wait. They said they still would not seat us. We asked why they did not tell us at the beginning or before we waited with 7 children for 40 minutes and they said they, "tried to tell us." When I realized I was not going to have pancakes AND that I was rejected by IHOP... I felt layers of unsettling emotion, a sting of melancholy and confusion, and a great sense of weariness sweeped over me sucking my energy with it. I'm guilty of ordering from here nearly everyday. I always order to pickup super early at around 6am. 2 employees that I always see are some of the best employees I have ever met! They always make sure my orders are done and up to standard. They forgot a stack of pancakes the other day and since they always treat me so kindly, I don't complain, but the next time I came in, they added the missing pancakes to this order! Maybe I was there on a really good day, but I am completely surprised by all the 1 and 2 star reviews. Our waitress was polite, attentive and helpful. The food was above par for a "greasy spoon" chain place. It was MUCH better than the Denny's we ate at the next day just a short distance away from this location. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I visited for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 8:00AM, the place was full and there was a small line of people waiting for tables, but no one waited long at all. It has been ages since I have been to IHOP. I was craving waffles and we were heading out of town so we decided to stop in here. It was noon and it was a struggle to find parking. Once inside we were seated at table after a brief wait. I ordered the Belgian waffle combo. It comes with a waffle, two eggs and bacon or sausage. I chose the bacon. We also ordered corned beef hash to share as a side. The waffle was good. It was everything I wanted it to be since I had been craving it. The corned beef hash was good too and as a side I am glad we shared it since it was a good size. I couldn't even finish it. The service was good. Well let me start by saying that they were short staffed. Took about q0 minutes for us to be seated and after that the waitress stressed how busy she was. There was around 4 tables in the place and most seemed like 2 to 3 tops tables. She was very friendly and efficient with her job. In the middle of our meal some guy walked from the back and yelled at the people waiting to be seat in the lobby. Saying "I just got off the phone with my GM and we are not serving no more tables, you have to leave" now I understand that you are short staffed but to treat customers like this with this tone is very unprofessional. By the time we left they were seating more people... made no sense to me. It just brought such a negative vibe to the whole dinning here. We should have listened to the reviews, they're spot on. This place is the worst. Whatever you do, don't try to dial their phone number, the phone system is so screwed up we dialed the Stone Hill location and someone from Frisco, TX answered! This was a delivery order, it was wrong, we called, and called, and called. When we finally got through, someone said give me a phone number someone will call you right back. We already knew this was a mistake but we gave them a number anyway. It goes without saying no one ever called back. So here I sit on the phone, on hold again, this time going on 20 minutes just to correct an order from this place. It has to be the management they are so understaffed. The phone is impossible yet they continue to take orders and screw them up. AVOID this place when placing an order on THEIR mobile app. I think we're done with IHOP, I don't know what we were thinking in the first place, we should have listened to the reviews.
