Guess I have not been here in 10 years, back when they were at the building off DNT. Came on a Thursday night, wasn't too busy, had a reservation and showed up a little bit late but they were still able to accommodate. Best things: 3 forks salad! Brussels sprouts Least favorite, although still good: Calamari - maybe I like less substance / meaty and more fried crispy stuff ha Lobster Mac and cheese - lacked a lot of lobster Also had - tomahawk steak which served 2 people, was pretty good, getting more presentation and value instead of some of the better ribeyes probably. Service was good, parking is better here than a lot of steak houses so that's a plus. Worth keeping in the steakhouse rotation.

Birthday Cakes

We had a fantastic dinner here and were really impressed with both the food and the experience. The aesthetic is romantic and sets the scene for a lowkey date night. For starters, we ordered the diver scallops with bacon jam and the chicken fried lobster--both were absolutely delicious and a great way to kick off the meal. I will say my fiancé prefers lobster fresh and not fried, so it wasn't something he would reorder, but I thought it was really tasty and it kind of reminded me of the fried alligator at Papadeuxs but in lobster form (IYKYK). For our mains, we tried the dry-aged steaks (the bone-in NY strip and the bone-in ribeye), and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tableside presentation with the Jack Daniel's bottled-in-bond bourbon infused Maldon salt set aflame was such a cool touch and really elevated the whole experience. We also ordered the III Forks salad, which was just okay for us. Next time, we'll probably explore one of their many other side dishes since the menu has plenty to choose from. Our server, Francisco, was very attentive, made some great menu recommendations, and so kind. We were dining there for my birthday, so he brought out two ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS slices of two different kinds of cake with a "Happy Birthday" message written in chocolate on the plate. They make their desserts in-house and they were soo moist and rich but still light and airy. Overall, this was a memorable steakhouse experience with great food and exceptional steaks. We'll definitely be back!

Filet and Chilean sea bass

Went on the Sunday after Valentine's Day to celebrate. First thing we were seated right next to the kitchen door, and I mean a door that is being opened every 1-2 minutes. Which meant multiple people walking past our table, very distracting and also uncomfortable. I tried to be easy and not complain or ask to be seated elsewhere but that was a mistake. The kitchen is freezing cold and a gush of cold air came out with every opening. The restaurant is pretty and has a good vibe. Typical steakhouse. The food was fine. We had the scallop appetizer and the calamari. We weren't fans of the long pieces of calamari. I had the Chilean sea bass which was average. My husband had the filet which was very good. We got crème brûlée deserts to go which were good. With all the choices for good steak houses I would try somewhere else next time.

6 oz filet mignon

I attended a seminar here recently, and dinner was provided. It was a three-course meal, and I had the III Forks salad, 6 oz filet mignon, and chocolate ganache cake. Everything was well presented and tasted good, but it wasn't impressive enough to make me want to return on my own. We were seated in a private dining room, but we could still hear quite a bit of noise from the rest of the restaurant, which was a bit distracting. Overall, it's an okay place to host a seminar with a nice dinner included, but it's not the best option out there.

Wanted to try a new steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary and had a few people who recommended III Forks! Made a reservation online, was easy and convenient! The hostess were extremely friendly, along with our servers and the food runners! The decor is nice and the restaurant is dimly lit. Everything we ordered was delicious! The dessert was so good! Definitely a good steakhouse option in Frisco!

The service is top notch even when busy! Very organized and great filet mignon and love potion drink. Come dressed up or dress down either way a romantic or grown up atmosphere.

6 Six Cheese Potatoes - Delicious, even though you already get potatoes, you should order these.
Lauren D.

HEADS UP - Steaks no longer include creamed corn, mashed potatoes, or sugar snap peas. Tomatoes and green onions are still offered. Prices were not adjusted one single penny and they just took all that away, with no warning. So if you'd like to have everything you used to get, your bill went up ~$45 for 2 people. For vegetables. (At the time of writing this, the yelp menu photos are out of date). First we lost the ambiance of the other location, now we just got a huge price hike with no additions. And last night for our special occasion, we got a server who was too busy with a large party to notice us, to the point where we had to flag him down. My 3 star rating is not about one experience, it's that we have been going here for years (my husband for decades) and that we aren't happy about the direction they have been going. The food is still good. The steaks are wonderful, the creamed corn is the best around, we love the beef croustades and the 6 cheese potatoes. The bread no longer tastes like it just came out of the oven. I tried a seafood special since I wasn't in the mood for steak this visit and it was alright. Next time, I'll stick to steak. Please note that the photo of the ribeye I uploaded here is with the old sides that are no longer included. We alternate between III Forks and Bobs for special occasion meals and unless we really want dessert (which iii forks does better), we will probably start leaning towards Bobs.

Aperol spritz

Okay this place was AMAZING for a date night! We started out having drinks at the bar. The Aperol spritz and old fashioned were perfect!!! We had a reservation and the hostess let us know at the bar when the table was ready. The restaurant is beautiful with soft lighting at each table and a sophisticated vibe. For dinner our server was Violetta and let me tell you she is INCREDIBLE. She makes you feel welcome while being very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. We started with the tuna appetizer and followed that with Caesar salad and medium rare filets with the green bean almandine and six cheese scalloped potatoes. It was all very flavorful, well seasoned, and delicious. The meal also comes with fresh bread and flaky sea salt butter. It was recently my husband's birthday so they surprised us with a dessert duo of Texas pecan cake and chocolate cake and they were absolutely fantastic. We will return to this spot very soon since we had the absolute best experience! The pictures aren't perfect with the lighting but this was a wonderful meal and experience!

Chicken Fried Lobster was delicious

Amazing all around. Quality food and service. Highly recommended for any occasion. We shared a few appetizers. Each had their own entree. We were all surprised how well seasoned the chicken was for our non-steak eater.

Medium rare

Lobster bisque was great, steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. I sat at the bar & the bartender was very nice & attentive. I like the ambience of the restaurant & it was my 1st time. I will be back!

Just wanted to update this review and much has changed over the years we've been frequenting this establishment. Their "new" digs in Frisco has a more modern feel, bit dark inside. I miss the old building they used to be in, more old school type of fancy, but I digress, quality is still *chefs kiss*. If you let them know it's your birthday, or anniversary they will give you a card signed by the staff. I remember a time they would also include a $50 giftcard for your next visit, and also a free dessert....but times have changed and those days are over I guess. Also, their signature sides (mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas and creamed corn are no longer included. In fact, they now have daily (or was it weekly?) special featuring different vegetables which you pay for separately. At first, I was disappointed, we love this place because we KNOW what we're getting. The waiter offered to check if they had any sugar snap peas, but we also placed an order for broccolini with almonds just in case they didn't have them. We ended up getting sugar snap peas on the house because they had some leftover from the previous night... sweet!! We still kept our order of broccolini, and let me tell you, I've never loved vegetables more in my entire life! I couldn't tell which I liked more, my French onion soup, my lobster, or the mashed potatoes, sugar snap peas or broccolini. There really isn't a meal that has ever topped this one. The quality of the food, the attentiveness of the waitstaff (even the manager check in on us and chatted a few times) is top notch. If you can swing it, definitely come here!

III Forks Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - III Forks

Do they serve halal steak?

No.

Are they still serving lobster bisque? It's not shown on the menu? Edit - we went on 10/6/21 and it…

It was not a few months back

Does the new location in Frisco still offer sides (tomatoes, onions, mashed potatoes, corn, etc) included with the steak?

Yes they do

Do you have a private room for 80 people?

No.

Is the flat iron steak good?

III Forks does steaks really, really well. I can recommend the ribeye and the filet, but haven't had the flat iron steak yet. Im sure its superb, given how well they do the others.

Our waiter Ruben was probably the best server we've had in years. He knew the food and drinks inside and out, he anticipated our needs and magically showed up with refills before I even knew I needed one. He told us about things on the menu and the restaurant and the services they offer. He was a guide without ever being pushy, he was always there with whatever we needed but was never hovering. Nice kid! I rarely talk to the managers unless something is seriously wrong. In this case I called Tom over to compliment how great the place is. We told him it was our first time in and that the only reason we hadn't been in before was it looked a bit expensive. He did mention they just came up with pick-a-pair for lunch at $14.95. Normally this means skimpy half-portions of stuff but not here. I was in the mood for bacon so I went for the BLT Salad & BLT Sandwich. The dressing was made in house and wonderfully garlicky without being overpowering. The tomatoes were juicy and flavorful, the bread was grilled to perfection, and even the arugula was delicious (and I hate arugula/rocket). My wife got the club with fruit salad as her side. Ruben said they cut the fruit daily. My wife doesn't like strawberries nor pineapple so I got bonus fruit on my salad. She only at half because Firebirds has a crème brûlée cheesecake and we had to split that. While we were there, a nearby table was celebrating and a bunch of waitstaff came out with shakers and martini glasses and poured everyone drinks. Fun and classy at the same time. We joined the loyalty club. No having to check in nor track points, they just send you discounts and free stuff in your birthday. The Jr. Chef club members get a free TShirt, a sundae on your birthday, a kitchen grill tours-makes me wish I was 10. Diverse staff, all happy to be working there, all focused on making sure the customers are happy. I wish I had come sooner, this is my new favorite place!

We went in on a Sunday afternoon so it was not too busy at the time. My girlfriend and I like to be seated at a "low top" because she has back issues with climbing up into higher seating. We don't mind waiting for that as inside "low tops" are limited. The hostess was very nice, as they always are. She took us to the middle of the venue to seat us and then walked away while we were waiting on our server. I stood up to walk around the table so that I could sit next to her instead of across from her. She stood up to move over and pulled out the chair next to her so she could sit back down. At that moment the new general manager walked up, and without offering any explaination, took the chair out of my girlfriend's hand and said, "We need this table for another party." He walked away and left us standing there without offering us another solution, and apology or calling the hostess over to seat us elsewhere. We were left standing there dumbfounded and looking around unsure of what to do. We started walking back toward the front of the venue as we spotted another open "low top" near there. At that same time the female hostess saw what had happened to us, and she started to walk toward us. Meanwhile, another male server - acting as host - seated some people at the new table we were about to get to with the hostess. We got mad and said, "it feels like someone is playing a game on us!" The hostess apologized as she could see we were aggitated. It was not her fault, and we do not blame her. We blame the rudeness of the general manager. We left to go eat somewhere else. This is not the first incident with this general manager, though. A few days prior, we were eating in there and had a good vantage point of one of the side kitchen entries off to the left of the bar toward the ffront half of the venue. A bus boy sloshed water all over the floor while moving wet dishes in a container back into the kitchen. He didn't have a chance to clean it up because he was buy walking back and forth doing other things. No big deal. The general manager walks up and proceeds to yell at another female server about the water who had absolutely nothing to do with the spill After she walks away, he did not take any real care to clean the spot up himself. He comes back after a minute to clean it up but not with a mop or anything. He takes two towels off the bar and mushes it around on the floor with his foot. He , then, proceeds to kick the wet towels under the bar before walking away. Talk about a safety and hygene issue. This kind of left a bad taste in our mouth. He does not treat his venue or his staff very nicely. We wantedd to get up and tell the other female server that we were sorry for her. This venue would be great if they would fire this rude and sloppy general manager. It's a shame because this used to be one of our favorite venues to go to all the time. The experience is starting to feel cheapened and sullied now.
