Not sure what the negative service reviews are about. The staff is friendly and professional and our order was made quickly despite the fact that they clearly had a ton of online orders. They had only 2 people working and they seemed to be working very hard so we were planning to have to be patient but they were stellar! We got our food in less than 10 minutes. I think the service was exceptional. I usually enjoy the same sandwich and the quality is always very good. This location also has plenty of parking nearby and a garage too if that area is full so it does beat the downtown location in that aspect. The only downside is that the sandwiches are a bit more expensive but they are very good. I will continue to visit this and the downtown location. Kudos to the employees for being great! There is sweet from honey and some tang from the BBQ sauce and mustard, creaminess from the classic dirty sauce, and of course I love three cheeses to tie it all together. I went here yesterday with 2 friends and waited a ridiculously long time to order & simply be greeted(at least 15min.) We waited so long, others in line simply chose to leave. People were very frustrated also waiting foreverrrrr for their food to be made. The only reason my party didn't leave is because my friend knows of this restaurant from home and LOVES their food. When she saw there was one in Phoenix in the same parking lot we were in, she had to go. Once we were finally helped, staff apologized and stated they had just gotten a large order of 22 sandwiches. That to me as a customer is bad service because that sounds like catering and should have parameters on when an order like that can be placed, so as not to disrupt daily business. I'm pretty sure I saw them apologizing once finally getting food to people and giving some sort of coupon for their inconvenience and I was a little disappointed that service didn't extend to everyone inconvenienced. Another drawback is when I went to order, I tried to order the 911 but was told none of the AZ establishment's actually carry what's needed for the sandwich. Why have it on the menu if it's not available? I also asked about the sauce on a sandwich "Ike's 5C sauce" and the employees did not know what it was and then seemingly guessed after not finding the answer in some pages they looked through. I feel like this should be posted for patrons, along with the dirty sauce sign. The food part of the experience was good. The menu is huge and gives you so many options which Im a fan of. They have numerous vegetarian options as well. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious (Mother of Phoenix & Menag e twois). The Dutch crunch bread or whatever it's called is perfect for the sandwiches, being both soft with a bit of golden crunch on the outside. I was nervous it was going to be hard and crunchy. I am an Ike's junkie, and despite my rating, I am going to keep going here because I really love Ike's food, even if this place isn't quite what I am used to. This review may be skewed a little by what I know of Ike's. (I am craving a sandwich just writing this...) The sandwiches are your typical Ike's fare... although super super light on the meat. I don't know if this is true for the meat fare, but the veg sandwiches are insultingly slim on the veg meat. I have adored the "Fallin' for Ike's" in three states (all with different names - thank you for not calling it Pocahontas anymore...), and I've never had it with two thin, tiny pieces of veg turkey. (Last time it wasn't even turkey, but what looked like random seitan pieces.) Considering the veg meat costs more on the menu, it is outrageous how little is on there. You're paying $15 for a sandwich that is mostly just the toppings. Don't get me wrong - the toppings are REALLY good, but what? Also, the vegan cheese almost always has marinara sauce mixed in. I am not sure why other than a storage issue, but I don't really need marinara on some of these subs. It's weird... Also, the time it takes to get a sandwich is bizarre. I usually order ahead on the app, and the wait is usually pretty long, so I try to order before I get hungry. But last week I decided to order in the store and it took 30 minutes to get my sandwich! I can get my food in half the time at sit down restaurants, so I am not sure if they are understaffed or having growing pains at the new location. All that said, I can't part with Ike's because it's tooooo gooooood. I just hope that as they are open for a while they will improve. I was so stoked to see that an Ike's opened up in the neighborhood, but the experience overall was just okay. The good: the service was great. The woman who was working the register was super friendly, and gave great tips on how to order and all the customizations you can do. The Dutch bread that they're known for was also super tasty, and they have spicy VoodDoo chips which you don't normally see, so that was a nice side option. The bad: my sandwich (the Hunter Pence) had maybe 2 slices of turkey on it, so it was mostly just bread and some veggies. And I'm sorry, but $30+ for 2 sandwiches?!? With those prices the food better be amazing, and it just wasn't. I pay less at some actual sit down restaurants, so the cost vs reward is just not worth it. What a great alternative to some of the more generic sandwich chains like subway and jersey mikes. Ike's has some great sandwich combinations and everything is delicious. I tried the Wonder Woman this visit and was not disappointed. It's not cheap but it's worth the cost for the quality, flavor and variety. They even toss in a yummy caramel apple lollipop for dessert! This is my second time trying Ike's and I had a better experience this time. The first time I wasn't sure what to get and ended getting something I didn't really like. Ike's has many different sandwiches to chose from and I love that they have a variety. I chose a wonder women sandwich and it was delicious. My partner got a Hollywood S.F cheesesteak. We both really enjoyed our food. The gentleman that helped us gave us excellent customer and made our experience a lot easier. He was very welcoming and very polite. Previously the closest Ike's to me was the downtown/Roosevelt Row location. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting the sandwich superstar himself, Ike, he makes up for his smaller stature by having hugely bold sandwiches with ingredients as bold as the names (eg the MILF). They have a big sandwich board inside, but if you know Ike's shops, they have literally THOUSANDS of sandwiches to order from. It's kind of overwhelming to a newbie, but you can always ask for recommendations, and they also have a list of the most popular sandwiches to hhelp narrow down the uber-important task of finding THE perfect sandwich for you! As to the shop iself, it's a bit more roomy inside than some of the other spots. They have self-serve beverages (some natural things like lemonade, etc, as well as a Pepsi machine). Add some chips and/or yummy treats (pre-packaged, no longer house made since the pandemic) and you're all set. If you've never been to an Ike's, each sandwich comes w/ a caramel apple lollipop. If you're vegan (which Ike has made super easy to see which of his many sandwiches are vegetarian vs vegan), you can ask to change it out for a vegan blue raspberry lolly. Basically. Go to Ike's... Horrible experience yesterday at the McCormick Ranch Ike's when the guy who took my order and asked me to sit down and wait at a table for him to bring it, apparently forgot to put my order in and/or he gave my sandwich to someone else. That's what another customer told me. I know he did not call my name or the name of the sandwich so after 15 minutes, I approached to check on my sandwich and he told me he didn't have an order for me. I showed him my receipt and he angrily said I could wait for him to make another. Instead, I just asked him to give me a refund, his rudeness was upsetting. He gave me the refund but tossed the receipt at me. I asked for his name and he refused to give it to me and said he didn't care if I reported it. Other customers were appalled too, and urged me on my way out to report it to Yelp. $15 for a sandwich and then to be treated so rudely because he forgot to put my order in, is unacceptable. read more

This place is is RIDICULOUS. Hear me out. I'm normally a 2 sandwich guy. I got 2 today and could've stopped after the first. I ate the Paul Reuben first, because it's one of "Ike's favorites" and it KILLED. Then I crushed the "Phoenix-something" sandwich with chicken fried steak and "5C sauce" on it. Wow. Them I knocked back a salted caramel cookie and was DONE.
