The original and best. IKEAs have sprung up all over the country since, but this flagship store in Warrington was the place I always looked forward to being dragged around as a kid. Why? It was next to a Toys R' Us. When I was small I was left in a ballpool all day until my parents came to get me, at which point I'd ride around on their trolley. When I was a little bigger I was left in a miniature cinema that played my favourite cartoons all day until my parents came to get me, at which point I'd ride around on their trolley. When I was big enough to walk round with my parents and pick things out for my own bedroom, dorm room or flat, I'd browse with them, at which point I'd ride around on their trolley. Man, some of my favourite memories have Swedish names. Heck, my best ever memory has a Swedish name, but that's another story. (Valentine's shout out to the BF there.) There's no denying it. IKEA is ace. It's stylish, modern, brightly coloured, functional stuff. Yes it can be flimsy, and flat packing is a pain in the behind, and I've never heard my parents argue more than when they were putting together my Billy Bookcase or my Sprüngli Bed or my Lack End Table or my Björn Life-Partner... wait, I found that one myself. And to be fair, Lacks are really easy. You just screw the legs on. It's just my parents can bicker over anything like that. It's very amusing. You wanted to be in a car with them before sat navs were invented. Anyway, this monolith of blue and yellow loveliness sits in an ideal motorway location, and don't worry, students... many Manchester universities run coach trips to IKEA so you can grab some everyday essentials. Besides, there's one closer now in Ashton-Under-Lyne so there's no excuse. IKEA sells anything and everything, from furniture to entire kitchens, small appliances to decorative items. The restaurant is a great place to test out your Swedish sensibilities... my father and I used to love the meatballs which obviously I don't eat any more, but you can buy them to take away as well as miniature Daim bars and a variety of cakes and biscuits. And it's amazing for kids - like I say, plonk them in the ballpool or the cartoon room and you don't have to worry about your sproglets for the whole day. Of course they will bug you to take them to Toys R' Us as soon as they see the bright lights and Geoffrey the Giraffe. You have been warned.

I used to live in North Wales so IKEA was like a day out to me. We loved it. I particularly looked forward to the swedish meatballs for my lunch. When I moved to Liverpool, the first thing I said to my family was "IKEA is only 20 minutes away" - I was thrilled. IKEA is a DIY haven, I could wander around the store all day. The warehouse is massive and you could go in thinking that you don't even need anything for your house but come out with a complete refurb. From shelves, to screws, to crockery, to sofas - IKEA sells absolutely everything you could ever need at a decent price. I

Ahhh Ikea we have so much to thank you for: Thanks for giving us cheap furniture/bit and bobs to make our student halls/ homes look less terrifying/ depressing/ crap. Thanks for bringing an once of style to the average British home. Thanks for selling the cheapest Kopparberg cider anywhere in the U.K -90p a can. Thanks for giving my hometown some kind of landmark aside from the local motorway services. Thanks Ikea we still love you even when we get a bit ahead of ourselves and convince ourselves you were sooo 5 years ago. Keep going strong our Swedish blue and yellow friend.

Ooo I Love Ikea - I visit the Warrington store a few times a year and I always to come home laden down with Goods (Most of which I never planned to Buy!). Ikea is always full to the brim with Bargains for your Home and Office, if your moving into a New Home or just re-decorating you must visit Ikea to stock up on new furnishings beacause it has everything you possiblly need all under the one roof and the best bit about it is that its Sooo Cheap! The thing I love most about Ikea is that you can browse for Items online or in the Catalogue beforehand which makes shopping much easier. I also love the fact that you can pick up lots of Quirky Gadgets for your Kitchen. The one Downside to Ikea is the layout, you have to walk through the whole store to get to the end so its not the kind of store you go to for a quick shop. Another Negative point is because you have to collect larger items at the end of the store you dont know if they are in stock until you get there. More often that not I've gone to the shelve to pick up my flat pack furniture only to find that they have all sold out and by that time I can be bothered to go back into the store to search for a replacement! But its smiles all round again after youve passed the Check out because you are greeted by the Sweedish Cafe & Food Market which is Heaven Delicious food & very cheap. With English breakfasts starting from just 95p and Tea/Coffee only 75p with Unlimited re-fills. If its just a quick snack you want try one of the tradtional Hot dogs for only 50p. I always pick up some tasty sweedish biscuits and sweets for the Journey home.

I cannot believe how poor the service has been from this store! ordered a bed/desk combination for my son beginning of July and still waiting for delivery as of today Aug 12th, have the shelves but no actual bed unit... Wait on the phone several times to have promise after promise made but to no avail. Really what can you do? The online chat is not working due to the pandemic, 60minutes waiting time for any kind of response n the phone if you actually manage to get through, so here's a thought... do not take orders if you cannot fulfil them. My son is in a half completed bedroom because of poor service, no delivery, empty promises. If it ever does arrive lets hope the unit is not like the service. I learnt one thing from this, buy local and avoid Ikea. read more

Me and my friends was lost in IKEA™ and we stayed the night in one of their showrooms, to help avoiding this conundrum again I have a few suggestions 1. Add a shit ton more arrows there were barely any when I was lost I couldn't find any. 2. Make so many more "short cuts", basically destroy all of the walls apart from the showrooms. 3. Improve your maps, their deffective it's just a line. read more
Leave the kids at home! Ikea- flat pack paradise! I can't fault Ikea, I have a lot of stuff from here. When you get tired, grab yourself a hotdog of some meatballs to give you the strength to continue. All I ask is you leave the kids, you don't need those little rug rats getting under your feet, this place is stressful enough :) read more

I'm amazed that I can walk around a shop yet not seem to find what I want sometimes or equally buy everything I don't need yet want and not what I travelled there for! Split over three levels the Swedish shop has everything from Bonsai tree's to double beds so if you want something for your house or even a fridge get down to IKEA at Warington. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Ikea, I love some of their designs, the Warrington branch is on 2 floors, most of the upstairs being a showroom and the downstairs mostly where you collect stuff. If you don't want to walk all round the showroom, take that short cut though the door to the right hand side of the stairs near the entrance. A good value cheap meal too, the restaurant cost me £10 for 2 meat ball based meals with drinks. The downside to Ikea is that many people seem to take their children there for a day out. Which of course is boring for them, so they misbehave, why do people do this? They're not even buying stuff most of the time! read more
CHEAP DECENT QUALITY FURNITURE! Innovative ideas for furniture, compiled with funky colours, cheap prices and funky designs - I am sold to this place! Trying to convince my other half to go to this place is usually a hard thing to do but when we're in dire need of something, we've managed to go and he's not become too annoyed. The only annoyance of this place is that you could become engrossed in this place for HOURS - you wouldn't even know about it because there are no windows to highlight the fact you arrived in daylight and it's suddenly dusk outside! Not everyone's cup of tea but others are more inclined to this when focus is desired! I love the variety and choice and you can even choose the level of quality and price of the items you desire! A huge car park, CLEAN facilities and a nice cafe that serves all kinds of food. AND they have a bargain corner where not everything is totally destroyed. read more
As with all IKEA's - the risk you take whilst walking in with a list (no matter what is on it) all you will leave with is straws and candles. This Warrington branch seems to be continually updated with the displays being jigged about i.e. the lighting switches from the 1st floor, to the ground almost each time I visit - which isn't really a big deal, just something I notice. I always enjoy my wee mooches around here picking up random bits I dont really need, it has great late opening hours (till 10pm Mon-Sat & 5pm on Sundays). I also appreciate their new collection of gift wrap area - tissue paper, ribbons, bags etc as I am a crafty gal. I've knocked off a star - as lets be clear, all the IKEAs will be virtually the same in stock / layout so there should be no difference really in standards at any of the locations...My quibble is that IKEA seems to have really increased in prices over the last 5years. For example, I bought a simple garden bench 5 years ago which was just £30 - full price, I bought it for my old house and recently I went back to get another to match in our new, larger garden. They still sell the exact same style - but the bench is now priced at £70! I'm sure there are all sorts of economic reasons for this...but twice the price is a tad excessive. Of course I will still come to IKEA - but I just check the prices more now as some of their items are not value for money. read more

Very poor after sales and customer service level Picked up an order from IKEA Warrington - to be discovered later that I was handed wrong colour items and 2 items missing After 3 !!! visits to the store the missing items problem is still not sorted out and having had to email the CEO of the Company and the country manager, as well as the store itself - not a dicky bird in response I found it utterly inadequate to the business image and their size - clearly this needs to be addressed if they are to retain their customer base read more

I really like Ikea and I know it's all the same and when you walk in someone's house you can spot it all immediately and it's really cheap tat, but I can't help it, it all just looks so organised and clean. It is very well thought out furniture and very well marketed and I fall for it! As for the shop, what can you say, it's an Ikea like any other, it's HUGE, sells everything and the staff (if you can find them) are always pretty well informed and helpful. The big downside is I cannot enter this place without eating one of their hotdogs! Again you know they're full of rubbish but they're just so nice! And cheap. Does exactly what it says on the tin. read more

Who doesn't love Ikea?! it's great good quality, cheap furniture a complete revelation on self assembled furniture. Parking is good but can get very busy. The staff are always helpful. Ikea in Warrington is great for a wonder around. Within the Manchester area there are two Ikea's, but this is by far my favourite. It is a few minutes' drive from Junction 9 of the M62, by shares a massive free car park with Marks and Spencer's next door. Like most Ikea stores, this one has long opening hours which accommodate everyone. Once inside the place has the usual route through different home set-ups, and a cafe and marketplace halfway through. There are a series of 'fast lanes' at the end where you can bypass the queues, and the obligatory Swedish food shop and bargain hotdog stand at the end worth the visit all by itself! read more

I love Ikea, but I always make sure to go at night because otherwise it's too busy for me! Never, ever go on a bank holiday weekend, it will be murder. This Ikea is very well located, just off the M62, close to Liverpool and Manchester. Ikea always has something to offer everyone, from cheap candles (I always come back with a candle!) to whole kitchens. read more

I guess most people know what the Ikea brand offers -- fantastic design at affordable prices, very busy shops and an annoying one-way system which seems to take you half-way round the world just to buy a candle. But it is an excellent place to furnish a house -- we've bought several things from this store over the years and certainly have no regrets. One less well known feature of this store in particular is its cafe. It seems to have taken a conscious decision to steer away from the burger-and-chips sort of menu, and instead offers some really tasty (and still very affordable) decent food. I can still recall having some excellent Thai fishcakes there even though it must be several years ago now! So all in all, an excellent place to shop: just make sure you avoid peak times. read more

I was always an avid fan of ikea and have been going since it first opened, the one in warrington. greatly disappointed this past year or two. they have changed the layout of the place, which is dammed annoying just when you thought you knew which way to go they go and change it now i hate it, i end up walking round in circles and miss loads. the merchandise is more expensive now and most of it is rubbish. on a plus point the meatball are still fantastic with that gravy, but they have stopped the fishy starter, shame that. read more

Me and my sister love strolling round Ikea every so often, then to the cafe for meatballs ! you can spend a lot of money in Ikea if you are not careful.. there is SO much there. great place for cheaper modern furniture. Ikea is great because it can inspire new interior design ideas. This store has been extended recentley and now has a lot more displays. Furnature is well priced at Ikea and some is stronger than others but generally good quality. There is something for all budgets. It can get really busy at weekends so week day visits are better. There is a M&S next door and a retail park too. Take the warrington junction of the m62 rather than going through warrington,it is easier. Hotdogs and a soft drink is now £1.10 which is still great value and they have lots of swedish food to buy or to eat in the cafe. read more

Good to go to if you like mazes. If you want to buy anything then I suggest you take a chair with you. The are never enough staff on tills and the ones that are on there are as slow as hell. My wife and I went to buy a sofa bed. When we finally got through the maze to the tills were were second in the queue. It took half an hour to get to the till and we still had to go to the warehouse around the corner to collect the rest. A lot of good stuff in there its just a shame that the staff are useless. read more

Wow what a place. Everything you could possibly want, and great for a Kids Day out. I only went for a map of the world for my 5 yr old, but ended up with quite a few things for the house. On top of that, they had a fabulous restaurant with gorgeous meat balls. My 5 yr old loved them, and then to top things off, they had a free party for kids next door to the restaurant. Pass the parcel, dancing, decorating biscuits and a free doll were just some of the activities. My 5 yr old wants to go back and as soon as I think of something else to buy, I will. Only complaint - fries were cold, but hey, it deserves 5 stars as a day out , and shopping superstore and 4.9 as a restaurant. read more
I will first list the best things about this place because its a shorter roll. Great furniture easy to assemble and at decent prices this is the only reason I visit this place. Now for the bad, the fact that you have to follow these little arrows all shuffling like cattle looking at furniture set up to a state of which your house will never look like. There are no windows so you lose all sense of time in there which I think is part of IKEA's plan. People are brutal and rude while in there shoving past you and grabbing things from your trolley its insane! It gets ridiculously crowded on weekends and I'm not a fan of crowds unless its a football game or a gig. If I didn't have to go here I wouldn't but it serves its purpose. read more

Ikea is great i love going here i also love there Swedish meatballs in the cafe. It's cheap enough always easy to find because they are huge. I do have a few items from ikea and i have found it fairly easy to put together as long as i read everything carefully. I love there mini supermarket it is also superb but not as cheap as other places. I could spend 24 hours a day in this store i would say it is my favourite shop. The Ikea here also have a huge children's play area were you are able to leave your children to play for an hour whilst you look around. They have baby changing facilities also. read more

I confess that I used to love Ikea. ( or is it the Dime/Daim bars they used to sell sell!? ) I think most woman like it, men no doubt hate it ( but I could be wrong! ) pretty much all men hate shopping for long periods of time right? They dont get the fun from admiring every last thing in the store but only buying a candle after 4 hours browsing. No idea why not! :-P What do you mean you dont want to browse cooking utensils shaped from luminous plastic and you dont feel the need to smell every last candle on the shelves?!! Pro Ikea for me is all about cute stuffed animal toys, groovy table lamps and a lot of other stuff I'd like but would look pretty poo in my living room, when I have naff all else to do on a sunday ;-) Con the queues are long and it feels like you are standing in a warehouse dispatch area! ( which essentially you are ) Con 2 dont expect those fold up chairs you bought to hold Uncle Bob's weight at Christmas dinner this year ;-) IKEA update 17th April 2012.. what has happened to this Ikea? scruffy looking aisles, chips and knocks on furniture, handles missing etc ( are you trying to sell these brands or put us all off?!) Parts missing out of flat pack furniture the last 3 items I have bought. Blinds broken in box etc. AND WHERE HAVE THE DIME BARS GONE?!!! AGGGG THAT'S IKEA RENDERED USELESS TO ME NOW haha To top it off on my last visit yesterday I was trying to find an aisle number to pick up a storage unit, I spotted a young male member of staff helping someone else, he then walked away from them to go and look for something for them, i took the opportunity to quickly say 'excuse me' to ask which direction the aisle was in. he cut me off after the 'excuse me' without even looking at me with a very rude and abrupt i'm helping someone else and walked off without letting me finish my sentence.! How bloody rude. wasn't like I passed him a 12 foot flat packed bookcase and asked him to build it for me! I went and found someone else and they helped me no probs a hand signal and 3rd left.. I guess that would have been far too much time for the first member of staff. ahh some people where brought up with no manners it seems ;-) read more

Don't know what any of us would do without Ikea, and we are very lucky to have one in Warrington. The car parking is great and you never really have to struggle for a space (even at the weekend). I love to have a good look round at what is new, but I get infuriated at the one-way systen, and the fact that even if you are just popping in for a potted plant, you have to walk all the way round. No such thing as a quick trip. The Ikea restaurant is absolutely amazing value and has breakfast for 99p. It is cheaper to eat out that to stay in, and the quality of the food is okay. read more

I love Ikea & this one doesn't disappoint. It's a bit of a strange layout but is a lot better since they updated it & added on some extra bits. They have a huge amount of displays & the staff are always really helpful. There is a large car park but we tend to avoid Ikea at weekends & especially when they have a sale on as the car park is just heaving & we have sometimes had to go away & go back at another time. Even when the store is busy we've not had to wait long at the checkout's. Ikea offer good value furniture as well as more expensive ranges so there is something for every budget. I think it's great & it means I can get things that look nice that aren't going to break the bank. They have a little food shop which is always tempting- especially the sweets & dill flavour crisps-mmm yummy. They have a children's play area/creche which I believe is really good although I've not used it myself. The kids always look like they are having fun. There's also a cafe which is good value & really nice food. read more

I like this store as it s very easy to get to and plenty of car parking spaces even on a busy weekend. The 2 distracting factors are not enough staff to help you with the stuff you r after as they are so busy dealing with other people, and the poor food on offer even though the prices are so inexpensive.Good layout of the floor space and thing s are very cheap there and you seem to get value for money. read more

I recommend getting an Ikea Family Card. It's free and gets you free drinks when visiting weekdays. (It's not a credit or store card). The restaurant area is very good, bright, airy and open, plenty of seating and good loos. Food is good to average with a selection of 4-5 meals with a hint of a Swedish theme, drinks have a free help-yourself refill policy. The store is typical ikea with a designated route and one way traffic approach to show room shopping. It does get very busy especially at weekends but there is a good sized car park and child minding/ ball pool area for little ones. Bargain Corner for ex-display and broken funiture etc and a cafe selling 75p hot dogs and 35p ice creams to see you off. read more

I didn't quite get the hype about Ikea until I actually got a home of my own. The store itself is easy to find and quite large so there is always plenty of choice. An advantage is they open until very late (midnight I think) in the week so when we've gone about 8-9pm its been nice and quiet for browsing. Prices are excellent and you can drop onto some really good bargains. There is a choice of two cafes in there as well if you need refreshment. Parking can be troublesome at weekends as the whole park gets quite busy so it might be best to avoid those times. read more

What poor customer service this store practises ! I have shopped there for a number of years for vases which cost £1.59 (stacking vase) which i use in my flower shop. After loading up with all the 85 vases, having checked the price marked on shelf - £1.59 each, I added 4 other vases at £16.99 each. I checked the total on my i-phone, to make sure i had enough money with me. It would be £203.11. I went to the till and was surprised to see the total as £233.71. After enquiring i was told that the vase was £1.95 each . I informed the very polite cashier, that that must be wrong as i had seen the price myself at £1.59 and after all, i had been many times before for the same vase and knew the price. She phoned a person i later found to be D**** and the Services Team Leader, I** T****** to check the price. The Lady Cashier remarked how odd it would be if they had gone up that much and we both agreed it was probably a mistake because of the upheaval in the store in the Market area at this time. D**** returned and without looking at me said "£1.95" to the polite Lady cashier and immediately walked away. I was surprised at this, as i remembered seeing the price with my own eyes and calulating the price in front of the shelf while loading it. I resolved however that i might as well go and get the £1.89 vase instead, as it was slightly cheaper. I offered to put back the vases, but the polite Lady cashier said this was not necessary and got me an empty trolley to get the other £1.89 vases. I went back to the Market Hall and started to load the £1.89 vases, which were right opposite the £1.59 vases. I was surprised to see an Ikea worker changing the price tag on where i had got the £1.59 vases from. Sure enough, the price was now £1.95 and the £1.59 price tag was in his hand. I asked him if he thought it was good customer service to demonstrate a price at £1.59 and when the customer had taken up that lawful Offer having accepted the Price at which they were displayed, to then tell the customer that the price had gone up to £1.95, and promptly change the price ? I asked him again if Ikea treated all their customers this way ? He to his credit said "Sorry" and looked very embarassed. I then noticed the show Vase with pink stones in it, proudly displayed with the price tag attached at - You guessed it - £1.59 - I realised then that it was probably not a coincidence that he had decided to change the price just after i had been told the price was £1.95. I took the show vase and proceeded around to the till as I believed i had been lied to and treated illegally. I waited in the queue at the same till where D**** was now the Cashier. at the point of being served, i asked that I** T******come over. I spoke to D**** and asked if still held by her earlier statement that the vases were displayed at the price of £1.95. She confirmed this to be the case and informed me she had seen it with her own eyes. I replied that i believed she was lying to me, born out by the fact that not only had i seen the price earlier, i had also witnessed the Ikea worker changing the price over just 2 minutes ago and he had admitted this to me. D****continued Hto deny that she had altered the price. At this point i showed the Show vase to I**T*******(£1.59 price tag) and wanted to know why Ikea staff were so intent on lying to me about a price. I** T****** then stated that he would honour the price at £1.59. there was not the slightest hint of an apology - Incredible !! I again reiterated to D****, who was staring at me in defiance, that i was amazed at her continuing ability to Lie to me, even when presented with the evidence. at the very least i expected some form of remorse, an apology or an explanation as to how the Ikea worker just happened to be changing the price tag at that moment, or how diane had in her words, seen the price at £1.95, when i had seen it at £1.59 (backed up by the show vase proudly displaying the £1.50 tag and by the Ikea worker changing the price tag). Nothing . At this point, I** T****** said "right, thats it, i am not serving you, you have called my staff a Liar, D**** has worked with me for many years and is not a Liar. i want you to get out of the stall now". I replied that she had been proven to be a Liar, protested about the appalling customer service, but either way resolved that the only course of action available to me was to leave, as no manager appeared to be around to speak to me. I** T******gave me his name and D*****name (not her surname, he refused to give me this) and told me to speak to customer services if i had a complaint. I have phoned Ikea customer services who were very apologetic and was promised a call back within 48 hours. I have not received this call back. Please tell everyone about the appalling treatment you May receive in Ikea Warrington if you dare to find they have priced an item at its old price.(and you dare to point this out to them ! ) read more

Absolutely disgusted with this store!!! Whilst we were shopping on Saturday 11/07/2015 between the hours of 6/7pm our vehicle was broken into and various items take, cost of damage £900 plus! We told the security and he couldn't even be bothered with us, his reply was " do you want the number for the police" no concern whatsoever. As you can imagine we were devastated, we have had to claim on our insurance and pay the excess. I have open to ikea telling them how upset we were and they said well what do you want us to do! They say they have cameras but not all over so it's hit and miss where you park. I am absolutely disgusted with there attitude for there customers, we have shopped there many times, but won't be doing ever again. ( never leave you vehicle on there people) x read more

I recently had the most disheartening and frustrating experience at IKEA Warrington, one that starkly highlights a grave lapse in the quality of customer service that one would expect from a brand of such repute. I approached the customer service desk with a simple request for a refund, an issue that should have been resolved swiftly and with minimal fuss. Instead, what I encountered was a staff that not only lacked the basic tenets of customer service but also exhibited an arrogance and dismissiveness that escalated a simple matter into an unnecessary confrontation. It is utterly appalling that in a customer-facing role, the staff at IKEA Warrington would choose to be not just unhelpful but outright abusive towards customers. Their behavior was not only unprofessional but also indicative of a disturbing lack of empathy and understanding. To be met with such arrogance and to have a straightforward issue turn into an argument speaks volumes of the dire need for a significant overhaul in their customer service training and attitude. I am deeply disappointed and shocked at the level of disdain shown towards customers. This experience has not only soured my view of IKEA Warrington but has also made me question the values and customer service ethos that IKEA purports to uphold. It is imperative that this matter be addressed with the utmost seriousness and that significant measures are taken to ensure that no other customer has to endure such an appalling experience. The staff in question should be held accountable, and a thorough review of customer service practices at IKEA Warrington is urgently needed to prevent such incidents in the future. read more

Its abit weird going to Ikea because you have to keep your whole day free jus incase you end up getting either; a) lost, b) Trying to find your kids who are lost or c) you end up buying a new kitchen. Yes Ikea is massive, it should be its own little city and will take you a good hour to walk around the show room. But if you keep your eyes open you an skip the showroom and head straight for the 'Marketplace' where some of ther small items are. Choice is okay, the range of items is huge but the different styles available are pretty limited. Price on the other hand is pretty, good but you get what you paid for, so dont expect that £15 coffee table to last a very long time. Overall a good plaace to get furnitire if you know your way around and you havnt got to take your children. read more

Ikea: So many good deals; 5 stars. Chris Bromley: 0 Stars. Can't be bothered to raise her kids and instead insists on feeding them drugs. It's disgusting that she could even be called a mother. Let children grow up naturally and say no to bad parenting. Say no to people like Christine and Alan Bromley of Appleton. read more

Beware of the latest security policy at Ikea Warrington of promoting positive discrimination If you are not white then you will be subjected to a ' random security check ' because apparently according their 'female' guard (no SIA badge worn ) then you are more likely to be a shop lifter !! read more
