We had probably one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten at this restaurant (all the local diners were ordering pizza too), but our pasta was incredibly salty which prevents me from giving a perfect score. read more

This time, there is a Michelin sign up, but that wasn't the motivation to go. It was because we remembered the pumpkin ravioli with sage and amaretto cookie, the fresh pasta with black truffle, and the wonderful, authentic vibe of this place. It's a busy place, and the elegance is just enough when paired with the working class traditional cuisine. It's a special place. And, it is tucked away in the cute medieval quarter of Ferrara. Transport yourself back and eat the way it was meant to be. Wonderful.

The interior is nicely cooled and appropriately decorated and the service is fast. One recommendation: save room for the Tagliatelle Cake (sounds weird having a cake made with pasta) but it's delicious - particularly if you like the flavor of almond liquors (e.g.: Disaronno). Think of it as a coffee crumble cake but with almond liquor instead and a crunchy nutty topping instead of coffee cake crumbles.

First they start you with appetizers. Then the first course, I ordered the al forno, and my wife the Ragu with mushrooms both were really good and the portions were big. Then they served you second plate of protein, and my wife got the grilled steak with was made to perfection. I had a little translation problem and ordered the frog "rane" (which sounds like steak in Spanish), and although was okay I am not a frog kind of guy. We were so full and satisfied with the other delicious plates (and assume full responsibility for the ordering misunderstanding) that I am giving this restaurant 5 star. It also helps that the full check was only 34 euros.
