Check-in wasn't the smoothest either--it seemed like the staff might have been training, as there were three people at the desk chatting around a computer and no one acknowledged us for several minutes. That said, the service improved after that point, and the staff was helpful and friendly for the rest of our stay. The room required us to take the elevator and then walk across a hallway outside and get to your room. You get there after flying for many hours and the key cards don't work. Our luggage arrived. He had to try the key cards as it's possible we don't know how to use them. Front desk clerk came up without new keys. It was quite the ordeal. Room was great! Concierge staff has been promptly informed but they never came up to check and no solution has been provided. - From 10pm to 2:30am continuous noises came from the upper floor. Trolleys, chairs, metallic noises, footsteps, etc We notified concierge twice at 11:10pm and 12:00am but the problem was not resolved by staff. We were told that there was a restaurant/tavern above the room. Brilliant decision for a location where people are supposed to sleep. - Although we parked the car in hotel parking lot, the car was moved and was parked on the street at 3:40 am. All without asking permission. Very professional and safe decision. To offer fair and complete perspective, we presented verbal and written complaints and, in summary, the hotel response has been "We apologize, you have to pay full price anyhow, we will cover parking costs of 25E and we offer you a one level upgraded room next time you visit again". Have travelled for 40+ years, internationally, and always in 4/5 stars hotels. Never seen such a un-professional management and response. In summary very unpleasant experience, overall hotel quality absolutely not at the level of the 200+ Euro price and very passive/un-professional staff attitude. They advertise themselves as offering "emotions of a unique experience"...undoubtedly very uniquely negative stay indeed....

It has a small balcony with a small table and two chairs on which you can take a coffee, breakfast or smoke a cigarette (as smoking is prohibited in buildings in Italy). We stayed in a double bed room and had our own bathroom. The bathroom had a power shower with very strong water flow, and it proved to be refreshing in the mornings or after a long day in Italian sun. The bathroom and the whole flat was immaculate. Although they change the sheets and towels every four days, even though they changed the floor towel every day. Our room was spacious, had a nice bed with a firm mattress and 2 firm pillows, although I was very happy when I found two very soft pillows in the wardrobe and swapped them. The furniture is old and gives a 60's atmosphere: I felt as though I was in one of the Sophie Loren's films. The TV was old and had then main Italian channels, no english channels. There was an old radio but we didn't try it. One main drawback of the B&B is lack of air conditioning. This made our day and nights hot but we used the large fan in the room. The breakfast was self-serve and they had coffee (both espresso caffetiere and drip-style), cornflakes, long lasting milk (not fresh, to my displeasure), juice, italian biscuits and jam. The cost was 60 euros per night per room. They also had two other rooms one of which had 3 single beds and the other 2 single beds. This B&B would be excellent for a large family or large group of friends who can rent out the whole place. When we stayed there was an old man from Calabria and another man. You shouldn't sleep in too long as they come in around 9 am to clean up after breakfast and clean the bathrooms. The noise made our sleep impossible after 9:30 am. Overall, I was pleased with the B&B as it made a nice change from hotels. We felt like we were Italian and lived there (we had proper flat keys: 4 of them: one for the outside building door, one for the metal flat door, one for the wooden flat door and one for the room).

The main issue is antiquated A/C system that doesn't work properly. This is not true A/C, more like fan that provides air flow, but doesn't really refrigerate an air inside the room. Also, it is busy location, so it was noisy in the mornings for light sleepers, like myself. All in all, viable option in Bologna.

IF you want to time travel to a time of old rooms, bathroom, bedrooms, light fixtures and yes well other things (see below) then go here. You will get preference if you speak and look Italian. But don't do it, if you look different. - They will still charge for booked nights. Even if you have to leave early. (I saw this happen to two women, who I felt was forced to stay in the crap of a hell hole). - They will not let you complete early check-in even if the room is ready. (My boss who is Italian, had to drive to the hotel to ask them to allow me to check in a bit earlier). - If you even get close to the lobby area, there is one staff member who will tell you that you cannot be there. Twice he asked me if I had a room there. Once when I stayed and on another occasion, while waiting for a coworker. They came to my hotel and waited for me with no issues. - I was also with someone before and the rude host said "you booked a room for only one, he cannot go upstairs" I said "First of all, I am not going upstairs and secondly I PAID for my room, I have two beds and either way. What I do is none of your business". =/. I hate this place with a passion. They only got one additional star because one of the bartenders is pretty nice, other staff members moderate. Although most of the time, you will have to stand there until someone appears. Also don't believe the pictures on Google, we all laugh when we see them lol.
