We have a lovely panzanella and silky, incredibly flavorful velluto for starters, followed by tagliatelle with lemon and pistachio, and housemade tortellini with fresh black truffle. The cherry crostata we had for dessert alone was worth a trip to Italy. And then we asked them to call a taxi for us back to our hotel, and they offered, actually insisted, on driving us there. The art of waiting, welcoming and hosting, taken to a whole other level! Thank you La Cavola D'oro, you deserve a gold medal in my book.

I don't remember the name of the salad my dad had, but it was topped with fresh mozzarella, shrimp, and a balsamic glaze. He was speechless while eating it. The dessert presentation was slightly confusing - when delivered, it appeared to look like cheese cake (which I grew very excited about), but at the first bite I realized it was panna cotta which I am not a fan of. Whomp whomp. From my understanding of this restaurant, reservations are required and they do things a little differently in that you choose your dishes ahead of time (fish menu, meat menu or vegetarian menu). The classic risotto was an absolutely delicious ooze of perfectly firm rice and a spot-on rich, buttery, creamy consistency. Pair everything with one of their house wines and you have a killer meal.
