They're there just to fill you up anyway), this was probably the best deal around the area in Old Town Nice! My friend and I actually were thinking about going home to eat (by splitting a 6 Euro whole rotisserie chicken) as we walked by this place, but after walking along for five minutes, we were like, "Wow why did we skip past that place? Screw saving money and eating rotisserie chicken all the time, let's get some mussels!"
Mussels from this place were super fresh, steamy, and tasty. When we first sat down at 8pm, the service was INCREDIBLY slow because there were so many people getting the same all you can eat mussels, but we sat there for so long, and got so many refills (partially because the wait was so long and we got hungry during the wait time) that by the time we were finishing up at midnight, buckets were coming out within minutes. The waiters were also very kind and were fine with us being there for 4 hours or so.
The different sauces paired with the mussels were fantastic, and in my opinion they were all good and unique tasting! I got 6 buckets of mussels with different sauces, and here are the ones that stood out to me:
- Lobster sauce with shrimp
- Garlic sauce with chopped onions
- Spicy salsa sauce
By the way, apparently the record here is 11 buckets of mussels...!
