I visit Barletta once a year but I go to l'Antica Cucina twice. By far the best restaurant in town…read more- excellent cuisine, very attentive service and good wine list. My personal favorites include the raw seafood plate, the octopus, the happy egg as well as the truffle fettuccine, the spaghetti with seafood, the fried fish (paranza), and, if you are more daring, the nghiumarelle (off the menu grilled lamb intestines). The staff is very helpful with recommendations - they will set up sharing plates for you and your party if you want a little bit of everything - which is a nice idea for your first time there.
The owner - Lello - is a Barletta institution and he will make you feel right at home.
Definitely a must go dining destination if you are in town!
