They were wonderful! We arrived incredibly early for lunch. 12 noon straight up. :) For Italians this is almost unheard of. The staff greeted us with big eyes and ushered us to a table in the dark. Lights were turned on, tables were set, and menus were brought.
We had their full attention and they were so friendly and not noticeably irritated that we were there only customers there.
We took our time and had a fantastic slice of meat, tagliata di manza, and they brought us the typical, but delicious bread and some small crustinis.
They created a pasta pomodoro for our daughter and had the novello wine on hand. So, overall we had a fantastic experience and it was all in a castle wall.
By the time we were leaving the restaurant began to fill with locals. If you like a nice bustling atmosphere don't go at noon. Wait until 1 or 1:30. :) read more
