Ilio's did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. This is a must visit restaurant and I will be back.

Being in Eindhoven for 2 weeks, we came back to Illio's. The food was fantastic and the staff are amazing down to earth people. My husband came to this restaurant 7 years ago and he always talked about a baked feta cheese dish that he had in a Greek restaurant (which he loved), he also remembered the manager was a great guy! If we happen to come back to Eindhoven again, we will definitely visit Hossien and his friendly staff for another great feast. read more

His personality is full of positive energy and he really cares about you. He remembered my husband from two months ago when he was here with his work team. Came to Eindhoven for a business trip and someone recommended Llio's. Supposed to have really good Greek food. So I was by myself and looking for an adventure. It was a Tuesday night and it was still pretty busy but got a nice seat overlooking the outside. They seated me fast but had to ask for a menu. Anyways, they give you a lemon liquor and I asked for a bottle water too. Anyways, I decided to start off with the Bruchetta with Tomato and basil. I got four piece and it had Tomato with green olives and sprinkled with olive oil. The bread wasn't hard like in the US but warm and had a nice crunch to it. It was so good. Excellent. Probably one of the best I've had. Of course it was gobbled up. Next I ordered a Baked Leg of Lamb with Greek pasta. It also comes with a side salad. The leg of Lamb was huge. Fall of the bone goodness. Really really good. The rice was outstanding too. Never had this rice before but I guess this is their Greek pasta. Really good. Then their side salad. It's a normal salad but the dressing is what made it. Very light and really tasty. Love the whole main course. Outstanding. Of course I can't leave here without dessert. One thing that caught my eye was the chocolate cake from Greece. Had to try it. Wasn't a normal cake. It was fluffy chocolate in the middle with a hard chocolate on the bottom dripping with chocolate syrup. Also with a scoop of ice cream and wip cream. Service was very European. Took a little while for a server to welcome me but the liquor helped. What I was told is that the server won't put your main dish in until they take away your appetizer dish. So i wasn't really rushed in or out and took a while to get my leg of Lamb but well worth it. So overall, excellent meal. Great food. Good service and a really fun atmosphere. Seemed like a small Greek house. Friendly service. Of course great desserts. Oh BTW, a couple of days later my co-workers heard about this place and I took them here. So went here twice in a week. Well worth it. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy I sure did. read more

I've been coming to Ilio's ever since a co-worker met me here for dinner several years ago. They have a nice selection of Greek dishes to choose from that keep me coming back for more. For starters I like the melon with parmaham, carpaccio or the trio of tapenades. All three are good - but I like the tapenade the best. They have a lot of options to choose from for your main. I've never had anything here that I did not like - though I tend to gravitate to the grilled portion of the menu. Lamb chops, gyros and mega-souvlaki are all good. My all time favorite is the Paros: souvlaki, suzuki, schnitzel and gyro meat all served on one plate. Order this one when you have an appetite! They also have an assortment of sides to pick from - one if which is, of course, French fries. The service here can be hit and miss. Most of the time I don't have any problems, but every now and then it is slow for no apparent reason. I would probably have given them five stars if it weren't for this. Give them a try. It is a nice, quiet place that I find to be a step above some other places in atmosphere and food quality. read more

This is our go to place in Eindhoven for Greek food. Delicious and reasonably priced with a homey atmosphere. Our staple plates have become the tzatziki with peppers and Pita starter, chicken soup, and Athene special. Have had the lamb and feta stuffed chicken and also very delicious. Well, I'd be lying if I said I've never been here. The last time here it was fantastic but as it was over 10 minutes ago I can't remember what I ate... or maybe the ouzo they serve when you arrive maybe a factor. Regardless I remember having a great meal last time so that is why I'm back! This time around I orders the grilled octopus as a starter and the gyro plate with fries as a main. Since I have a little time let me fill you in on the ambiance... it a quaint Greek restaurant simply lit with old style light bulbs and very presentable. They have an outside sitting area and a very well kept inside eating area. Don't fret thought. The attire is quite casual as I see a... Octopus arrived. Stand by. Yum... the octopus was fantastic! Perfectly grilled and very tasty piece of yum! The waiter just asked if I was ready for the next round... I think I'll wait 5 minutes so I can bore you some more... As I look around I see people from all cultures and walks of life. This area is very multi cultural as I can hear Spanish, English, Dutch and Chinese just within my bad hearing earshot. But I digress... it's time to eat! The main, gyro with fries and tzatziki... and a dash of fill my belly... if I could bring some home I would but since I can't let it go to waste... Matt 1, gyro 0. It was a great meal with plenty to last! This is served in true Greek fashion... no pita with this meal! But it did come with a salad and very nice atmosphere! I travel to Eindhoven for work and always look forward to dinner at Ilio's while I'm in town. It's different than the Greek food I can get at home, I like to think it's more authentic. My favorite dish is the Neohorian (I can't spell it or say it but I'll happily eat it!). It's a mix of different meats grilled just right with a lot of flavor. Frequently I'll go with colleagues and we'll share the mixed grilled meat plate and everybody agrees that's it's delicious. I can't wait to get back. read more

Staying near Eindhoven downtown, there are so many restaurants with great food. But I will never miss Ilio's. In half a year I visited Eindhoven twice, one during coolest days, another in hottest. Ilio's always welcomes me with great food with lot of surprises. I enjoyed very much with grills, especially the lamps. Tender, juicy, paired with Greek Mythos, plus amusing Ouzu, warmed up and cooled down me during my stays under those extreme weather. I enjoyed the teases of Greek so much, that I forgot my credit card, until Ilio's waiter chased me up in heavy breaths a couple hundreds meters away from the restaurant. What a wonderful restaurant and great staff. I definitely will recommend my friends and colleges to this one both on quality of the food and outstanding services. read more

Went with six to dinner only seat for this large of group at time was inside. Seating was good. Staff was extra you friendly. We had their special 13 items. 7 different appetizers and six differ t entire. I do not believe there was anything I did not like. The octopus was excellent. I would go back for sure. read more

If I could give this "restaurant" zero stars, I would. This was the worst food and the worst service I have had in a very long time. The mussels were terrible. I pushed the plate away and ate the bread. No one ever came to ask how my meal was. No one ever brought me my bill. Finally, I walked to the back of the restaurant to ask for my bill so I could pay. Ilio's served Greek food right. Portions were generous. There was plenty of flavor in the breaded fish with prawns and vegetables, and the crispy cheese appetizer oozed from the crunchy shell.
