Great little café, with really nice service and good sandwiches. As the name "iloinen" implies, the atmosphere here is happy and pink is a quite descriptive color for this place. Forget all worries for a minute and just relax here. read more

I've been to this Munkkivuori location many times over the years -- most recently this July. I had a goat cheese salad, and my kid the salmon soup. I enjoyed the lunch but for my money, I'd rather hit any number of independently owned cafés in Munkkiniemi than this strip mall chain café.

It's cold here, and coffee warms you right up! It's also why Finland is the happiest country in the world. This place serves up fresh coffee drinks, juices, pastries, sandwiches and salads. I opted for the Honduran Obscura coffee, which was nice, light, and aromatic. It came in a giant mug that got me going. There's some seating with chairs at a little table, and a bunch of stools to sit on that look uncomfortable if you're trying to work on something. There's also a bunch of window seating, which was more comfortable that the other options. It's nice that they have so many outlets around here for all your gadgets. I didn't check to see if they had Wifi. The service was warm, and friendly. They took the time to explain the different roasts that they offered, and even offered samples. I didn't try the food, but it looked fresh and delicious. They also sell a limited array of coffee making options, like French presses or pour over devices. It's a shame that Kahvi Charlotta doesn't have a drink called the "Charlatte."

The atmosphere is nice and warm - mainly thanks to the lovely owner! I love that their dog and children hang out at the café adding to the cosiness. At the back is a tiny flower shop - what a combo! They serve excellent teas and coffees, as well as light meals like salads and quiches. They also serve brunch on the weekends. I must mention also the cakes: almost everything is self made and absolutely delicious. The ones that are not self made are carefully picked and usually from small local businesses. So why 4 stars instead of 5? The meals are quite light and often some friends with bigger appetite are left a bit hungry. A heftier option would be appreciated.

Sitting inside it gets pretty crowded -- both downstairs and upstairs -- and there are so many regular customers that I hypothesize are permanently attached to the inside tables. Delivo publishes their daily lunch menu on their website, but I rarely check it -- they always have hearty salads with many toppings to choose from, so I take that if I'm not feeling the lunch specials. My favorite salad here is smoked salmon with goat cheese -- massive toppings! They also offer soupe du jour -- both their tomato soup and borsch are extremely flavorful. The artisan bread on the side is fantastic. So if you find yourself in Munkkiniemi, and weather allowing, drop by Delivo and grab some affordable, tasty lunch to enjoy on the terrace!

If there's no seats available, take out seemed very popular here as well! We got their salmon soup lunch special and cinnamon roll, and a vanilla/raspberry danish Danish (~$4) was a fluffy cardamom brioche bread topped with a generous amount of raspberry jam and vanilla custard. It might've been a bit too much jam, but scoop some off and it was delicious. Bread was soft and fluffy. And almost melts in your mouth. Cinnamon rolls (~$4) were extra fluffy and had a subtle cardamom hit that made the rolls extra cozy. Definitely on the larger side, so id recommend sharing. Salmon soup is a Finnish specialty and perfect on a cold winters day. It came with a fresh slice of bread and butter. The soup had 3 big tender pieces of salmon, potatoes, onions, and dill swimming in a creamy fish broth. Delicious and hit the spot! For ~$15, it was a great lunch!
