I called to make my initial appointment and told them I'm allergic to monomer so I can't do acrylic, & asked if they do hard or builder gel. They said yes, so I went in. I opted for builder gel as I haven't had a problem with it before, but apparently the one they use also has monomer in it! They didn't say anything even though I said at least 3 times that I'm allergic to and that's why I can't do acrylics. I got them done, liked them, and went home. This morning I woke up and all of my fingers were swollen, red, and itchy! So I did what you're supposed to do and went back. They removed everything and redid them, but then wanted me to pay the full price all over again. She said, well you didn't like them and I redid them. WRONG!! I had an allergic reaction to something that I told you about ahead of time but you still put it on my fingers anyway. Long story short, I ended up double paying for a service when the issue was that they didn't listen to me (or didn't know what was in their builder gel)! Giving two stars because the color and shaping is nice, but I can't recommend this place. read more

They were able to take me and my mom in last minute and stayed later than they had too !! Excellent service ! My nails were beautifully done and my pedicure was so relaxing, they make you feel welcome and didn't judge me one bit. The man who did my nails flawlessly did my design in a matter of seconds. Hard to find good nail places and I just found my go to spot !!! Ps : my cuticles were like that before I came in and they were gentle on the exposed areas ! read more

Been here twice, the first time I had a friend and we chatted the entire time and got lovely looking pedis. Would have given them 5 stars at that point. Second time, I went by myself for a quick mani/ pedi, and without a friend there to distract me, I was able to notice that the place hasn't had a deep clean ever. Got a pedi first from a guy who was clearly filling in for someone because it hurt. Then went up for a mani and the lady was completely lovely, only instead of new tools for the mani, they brought up the same tools that had been opened for my feet. Just seemed a little gross. Overall, the end product looked great, but the little things along the way just diminished the experience to a three star rating. read more

Was waiting for my friend to get done so we can pay together and the lady came up and proceeded to tell me to pay right then that she wasn't going back and forth. Just got done getting my nails done here and will never be going back. I had a picture of exactly what I wanted and walked out with nothing even close. I paid $50 for nails I'm going to get taken off tomorrow. I was charged for a manicure and never received a manicure. The nail technician didn't even touch my actual nail. No filing, no cuticle trimming no nothing. Right away she glued the acrylic on and started going to town. I hate when people tell me how to my job so I wasn't about to sit there and criticize her, but I will not be returning. read more

I've been to other salons in the past but once I tried Image Nails I've never gone anywhere else. They have the best pedicures I've ever had. I feel amazing after going in. My daughter was visiting from Japan (where she is stationed) and I had not seen her for 2 years. We decided to have a girls day and buy the most expensive pampering package combo....pedi and mani. Do not let the Grandpa work on your feet!! He was very rough with my daughter and was pretty rude. He cut her toe with the electric sander and it bled a lot. He never apologized....just kept putting some alcohol based drops on it to stop the bleeding...which burned like crazy. He continued to be rough with her and never acknowledged that she had a huge gash on top of her toe. He was very short with his hot stone massage and the foot hot wax soak. He also didn't know how to do designs. I had a younger guy who was very friendly and did a great job, except my fingernail polish started falling off in big chips after the 3rd day. I feel my daughter should have gotten the same treatment, as we paid the same price to be pampered. Her toe is still very sore and she can only wear flip flops as she can't have anything touch her toe without pain. It was also hard to relax because the employee's little kids were running around the salon jumping on the backs of the people working on our feet. A discount should have definitely been offered!!! read more

I am making this complaint, because I had a horribe service at Image Nails in Saint Joseph, Missouri. I sat down and explained that I wanted a certain type of nail polish. I can not wear fake nails, because my nails are already thick and healthy. The nail technician and the owner told me that I could not get the chrome because it would not work on Gel nails. I understood, so I washed my hands and asked if I could change to regular polish. The nail technician told me to sit down and that I could not pick a new color (even though we haven't even started painting any fingers). I continued to ask why I couldn't pick regular polish, and she just kept telling me no and to sit down. She finally lets me pick a color. Before I paid her, I told her I finally wanted the chrome on the regular polish. She seemed to understand, and we started the polishing process. I mentioned the chrome one more time and she agreed. Seconds later, she tells me she's done. No chrome on my nails. I asked her why I could not get it, that's when the owner started talking. Telling me that the chrome comes off and people come back complaining. I told him that I have had them before, and that it was fine with me. The two give off a giggle and she tells me to go dry them. I explained that I'm a paying customer and I should be able to get the chrome. Another giggle, so I try to deal with the color. I was not about to argue in the established, because that is a place of business. In my eyes, I could have just gotten the Gel nails that I asked for. I payed $20 for a nail service I did not like. I have gotten chrome there before, and my nails were fine. The BBB has been contacted . read more
