Super adorable age appropriate gifts that are precious and well made. They have bro's bows which is a kid based company, the nuff book which is about self esteem and really cute old school kids jewelry boxes and books. They have the cute mouses that you can get at Neimans or Nordstrom's and a plethora of adorable toddler clothes. In a shopping center next too adorable home store, coffee shop and yummy catering/ bakery. Definitely worth the stop and support. I did. read more

This is the super awesome kids outlet located right next door (more or less) to it's parents boutique shop which is simply delightful. Unusually for an area business it has a sizeable surface lot for parking. However, the lot is shared with all the other businesses in that strip mall many of which are quite popular. So while there will always be a spot in that lot somewhere, getting to it can be painful. That surface lot isn't laid out well and requires a fair amount of maneuvering not least around the other not always very focused drivers in and around. This is smaller store as far as these things go, but is lovingly stocked with higher quality baby gear and some of the more thoughtful kinds of toys/books for older children. It is a lush shopping destination and it's heavy on STEM items both of which are very welcome things. Service is pretty solid-the clerk/cashier is centrally located-and as this is a smaller space that means they are readily available for any questions you may have without being intrusive. All in all this is a rock solid shopping experience, if a little on the pricey side. read more

Today was my first time shopping here and I was so impressed. It is a small, intimate store that has a lot of excellent stuff for kids. Such amazing choices and really nicely designed displays. There were two women working there around noon that were both so kind and helpful even with the number of shoppers there (it was the day before Easter Sunday). I was looking for gifts for an infant and for a 4 year old and found quite a few options around $10 each. This store is conveniently located in the mall that has my most frequented Aptos shops and restaurants - Pacific Coffee Roasting Company, Zameen Mediterranean Cuisine, Aptos Natural Foods, and Heather's Patisserie. I felt very comfortable at Outside-In Kids. Very nice background music and the decor is fun. I was there for quite a while and found some great gifts. For very little extra cost, I had them gift wrap. Very nicely done with a beautiful rainbow ribbon. I will be back to this store for sure. I loved the whole experience. read more

Cute store with lots of very expensive clothes and stuffed animals. We took our 1 year old in to pick out a new baby doll and the environment was very stuck up and the shop keeper was snooty. They're more interested in catering to rich old white women and kids don't feel welcome in this kids store. With wonderland toys and childish nearby, I'll never shop here again read more

Great for a last minute gifts, a little over priced. Selection is ok, but wish they had more locally made stuff, and a little more unique things but it works in a pinch when you need something as a gift. My six year old doesn't think their selection is that great - they need more stuff for boys. read more

Your website doesn't do either of your stores justice. I LOVE Outside-In Kids. I used to live in Aptos, and now come every three weeks for doctor appointments. I can not visit without finding something unique for my new granddaughter Elizabeth. Your staff are wonderful and who ever the person was with the negative blog must be nuts. I have never had anyone be snotty or not helpful. I have friend from Ventura trying to order your Grandma Calls Me Gigglepie book from your store! Keep up the good work. I have my eyes on a few unique things for Christmas and a March 1 year birthday......we love you! I have tried to support this business for years despite the over-priced items and the poor selection, because it's local and one of the only family-owned toy stores in town. Today was the last straw however and I will never go to either of the Outside Ins again. A few weeks ago, I had $100 to spend on books donated by families at the school where I teach. I asked for a small discount (10%) thinking the business might be willing to support a local non-profit school. No such luck so I took my $100 to Amazon. Today I tried to exchange a Christmas gift for my daughter. They declined, after initially accepting and waiting until she'd picked out a replacement gift, citing a small tear on the box. I've purchased items and been offered gift wrapping only to find later I was charged $1 for each wrapped item. The list goes on...I'll stick with Wonderland Toys up the road from now on. read more
