Absolutely fantastic! The buffet was superb, the main (beef & fish) we so delicious! The dessert buffet afterwards was equally as delicious. All in all the food was outstanding. The food was only matched by the service. Our table servers were delightful. They were smiley, interactive & engaged. They anticipated our needs & delivered quickly. Finally, this is a classic old style throwback to days of elegance. Nice decor with a sense of quality. An exceptional experience.

The hotel itself is tastefully done with decor and an extremely functional layout. The rooms are decent sized, complete with wifi, sitting area, bed and walk in shower. Overall, not quite a 5 star establishment but it absolutely lives up to a 4+ star hotel and a good option to stay in a town with extremely fine dining options. Definitely the worst hotel I have been to in years. First, I arrived and wanted to park my car in…read moretheir garage. It took ten minutes until someone from the reception responded and opened the gate. The entry was so narrow I was really scared - only to learn that all parking spots were taken. As even the driveway to the hotel was filled with cars, I had to remotely park on the street and take a five-minute walk (with all my luggage). Then, the attitude of the receptionist was less than acceptable. Unfortunately, they had problems with the company credit card I had given to secure (on-site the very same card just worked fine ;-) Then, we had to cancel a few rooms as we had a death of a team's family member. I was told I have to pay one room anyway. Then I learned that the rooms do not have a proper bathroom. The bathroom is somewhat open to the hotel room. As we have team members sharing, I would have never booked the rooms. Now, we had one "mixed couple" sharing a room, and I thought it would be particularly wrong to put both of them in such a room and asked for the room I had to pay for anyway. I was told that the hotel is sold out. I had reported the incident to Artist Travel Service - and the hotel manager responded I was lying (of course I have two witnesses). So the hotel is charging me for a room that they sold? Finally, my wife and I shared a room and had only one towel in the bathroom. When telling the receptionist, I was told it is house practice, and I was more than welcome to dress again and come down to reception and get a second one. I work for the worlds' #1 largest entertainment company and we book more than 300,000 rooms per year. I have given notice that we will put the hotel on a list that we will never put any of our artists or crew there. The hotel's breakfast restaurant is okay (but they used to serve Russische Mischung tea from Ettli Kaffe, which was much better than the bagged tea now offered). Rooms are very clean, and the new owners have corrected many of the maintenance issues the old management sadly allowed to accumulate, returning the hotel to its previous charm. The staff remains friendly and helpful. Only a few rooms offer air conditioning; WiFi generally works well. There is (tight) parking under the main building that sometimes fills up; the front desk will provide a parking pass and directions to park down the street if needed.
