One note: this is American Jiu Jitsu that will train you to survive in a fight. If you're looking for competition-style martial arts, this is not the place for you. But if you want practical techniques to defend yourself, this is the place to do it.

He is like a superhero running, jumping and flipping over the kids as they learn the sport. My daughter also attends the summer camp and has a blast. The camp is mostly outside in local parks like the Jamaica Pond and the Arbouretum. The curriculum is action-packed with TKD practice mixed with fun activities like slingshots and ziplines. The instructor Master Ken helped out my son who was struggling with confidence etc. He also probably saved my life by helping me get back in shape. The key is that a lot of people think you go to class and you learn all these crazy moves etc. That's not it works. You have to learn and perfect the moves you're being taught. If you drop your kids off once a week then they aren't going to learn a thing and your just going to be disappointed. A 30 minute warm up and 15 minute training is not just fine its safe. And everyone charges for belt tests but here its super reasonable. If you want to progress you have to put in the time go at least twice a week and practice at home. This is a great school and an amazing group of people. Be reasonable with your expectations and you'll go far here.

He gave me my black belt after 8 years of training there. It wasn't easy, and the warm ups may have been long but I was never in better shape. You learn important things there especially as a kid. Hard work, dedication, discipline and self esteem are all things you learn and I think there should be more of that now a days. Nothing builds confidence like martial arts and Head Instructor Ken and this school deserve much better reviews then the people bashing the place. I would recommend and if I still lived in the area I would trust my children to learn there too
