Regardless if this studio was specifically designed to train and condition dancers for the competitive world, as well as the professional world, I can say without a doubt that the IDC Companies would continue to train with the amazing faculty and staff being as though it's not about the winning. The teachers at IDC encourage their students to push past their limits, to dance for them and only them, and to express themselves in a way they never have before while simultaneously developing their artistry. IDC is not for everyone; it is a studio that requires hard work and determination, and is not a place for excuses. Your dancer has to be willing to do what it takes to become a national champion. IDC does not baby their dancers and will certainly not downgrade their choreography specifically for a dancer they feel is not performing to the caliber of the standards they've set. If you're looking for quality training and a wonderful growing/ learning environment for your kids- IDC is the place to be. I have been training at Impassioned Dance Centre for the past 3 years and I can honestly say that I have never received better training than I have in these years. On top of great training, IDC makes a home for all of its dancers. A family-like bond is created between both dancers and teachers. The teachers focus on each kid and make sure that they know the individual needs of all of their students. Private lessons are encouraged so that those individual needs can be met and worked on personally to ensure the most growth possible for all students that take them. I am shocked about how someone could blatantly lie. Everything is optional of course the more dances your child is in the more costly it will be. But I as the parent determine what I can and cannot afford. The prices are set up front so you can determine what you can or cannot afford. I am at no means a yes ma'am person so if I had a question or concern Ms. Angie or Ms. Shanda addressed it always up front and loving. My daughter graduated from the studio and I couldn't be any happier. We still come and support the studio because we love them, both me and my daughter came out when they have events, IDC had their review a few days ago and I will always come and support because they have done a fantastic job with the studio and their members. The students are very courteous and the proud themselves on shaping well groomed members. I ran into some of the members outside of the studio and they greeted me when I saw them not at our previous studio the children would walk passed you and not speak even when you greeted them. I can only say good things from the staff and members from the moment my daughter auditioned everyone embraced her, she was bullied so bad at her previous studio she cried every day until we left. Not at Impassioned Dance Centre (IDC). My daughter and I will always come out to competition because we love them not because we have too. My daughter is in college and when ever we can we will show our support. Now to the costumes they are award winning and absolutely stunning. They are ALL custom-made and thousands of rhinestones are applied not just a few. These are one of a kind no one else will show up with the same costume of course group dances are set in price but solos are up to the parents. I am a parent of a child that dances at Impassioned Dance Centre. My daughter has been dancing since age 3, she just turned 12. My daughter loves dance, but IDC has reignited her passion for dance. Impassioned Dance Centre is our third studio that we've danced at, so we are not new to this. I must say that IDC will be our last studio. We've finally found our dance home. The dance teachers are amazing!!! The technical skills that they teach way surpass any other that I've experienced at any other studio. But it's not just the technique that makes me love Impassioned Dance Centre. The choreography and creativity are at the top of the chart. But that's not what I love. It's absolutely the teachers, kids, and other IDC Families. The love and support that everyone has for one another is overwhelming beautiful. The teachers pour so much love into each and every dancer. They customize their instruction to what each child needs. They teach them much more than dance. They teach respect, manners, sportsmanship, teamwork and solid values. IDC is a safe place for young people to be, to learn and to grow. My daughter was lost in a sea of children with her talents going unnoticed at our former studio. The teachers at IDC helped her not only to grow as a technical competition dancer, but they also helped to reignite her passion and sheer love for dance. The IDC teachers help each and every dancer to grow and become "their" best. It's about excellence, not perfection. IDC is a family. The older kids truly mentor the younger ones. At competitions they are there for support, but they're also there to assist the kids with costume changes, hair and make-up, etc. Sometimes the dance moms don't even have to get up to help their children because their big sister or big brother has them (literally). As a dance mom I can always go to the teachers with my questions and even my concerns. They ALWAYS listen and are extremely flexible. If there is a disagreement, they are open to talking about it to resolve the issue. Competition dance is extremely expensive, but the cost is fully communicated up front and ahead of time. Costs are spread out from the beginning of the dance season to the end to assist the parents with fees. IDC offers a booster club for parents to allow fundraising opportunities to help offset fees and costs. IDC is truly for me and my child. The growth that I've seen in her over the past three years simply amazes me. She's blossomed not only into a phenomenal dancer, but also in to an awesome young lady. I've watched her work extremely hard for herself, her teammates and for her teachers. IDC is an awesome place for children to be, to grow and to dance. I am writing this review to hopefully save another parent and child(ren) from wasting time and money at this studio. First, I was attracted to the studio from watching you tube videos, so the choreography was impressive. However, you are forced to be on a competition team because they don't have regular technique classes for kids older than maybe 6. There is no ballet I, II, or Jazz I, II type thing. All the classes are for the competition teams. They advertise 4 different teams, but last year they put little girls on the junior team and that downplayed their choreography. The main focus goes to the senior competition teams for the most part. They are very secretive, even though they take your money all year long...literally! Parents even got charged labor as apart of the costume fees, for putting on some rhinestones that the parents could have put on themselves yo save money. They spend your money all year long and then just bill you for it and its a problem when you voice a concern. Payments almost every month on top of the monthly tuition. Then, almost every dancer they say needs "private lessons" which is $40 per hour! Why not just offer more classes and stop making private lessons mandatory? They seem very welcoming at first, but as soon as you start asking questions or have a problem with something, everything then changes. Ms. Angie will talk to both the parents and kids any kind of way. She's very nasty...very. Talented in many ways. But nasty and overcharging for many things. The costume fees were ridiculously expensive and falling apart during the 1st dress rehearsal. Smh. The staff caters to those parents who never question anything they do. You also are not allowed to view rehearsals. They charge you to be apart of their booster club, who does that!!!.They love to argue back and forth with the paying parent who questions anything. The amount of favoritism shown amongst the dancers is very noticable. If your child is not serious about dance and not talented to them. IDC is not the place for your family, trust me. Yes, they win lots of awards but the hell you deal with is not worth it. I would be very cautious of choosing this studio. If I helped just one person, writing this was worth it. I was in search of a dance studio that my 8 yr old son would be comfortable dancing at and ImPassioned Dance Centre is it! He has always had a desire to dance but now that he has started taking class on Thursday at 6:00 and taking hip hop lessons, he has improved in his dance and in his confidence. I believe that every dime that I pay for his training and classes is worth it! I constantly get feedback from the dance teachers on his progress and on things he may need to work on! He wants to be on company and plans on auditioning soon! All of the fees and payments that will need to be made were discussed up front before auditions and explained thoroughly. I'm pleased with our dance journey thus far! The staff and other dancers have made us feel like we are a part of a family and that is something that you don't find at most dance studios! This studio is strictly a competition team. It does not have classes for children who just wants to dance. They may say they do but they put them in classes with competition dancers and only focuses on competition dances. The Studio owners are VERY unprofessional and lack experience to train your dancers correctly. They make it seem like everything is wonderful but really its all an act. The pay for classes and to compete, is extremely expensive and not worth the prices. They do not like change and stuck in their ways. The way they handle auditions is also unprofessional. The technique they teach is good but only can last your child a good 2-3 years of growth probably less. There are huge amounts of favoritism in certain dancers. Also, one of the owners are too emotionally close to some of the children which made me and other parents highly uncomfortable. They only have 3 choreographers and won't allow guest choreographers to come. I felt they were not professional nor well trained enough to teach. Practices and classes are closed off from parents. I truly recommend to find another place to dance if you really care about your child's future in dance. They are not terrible place but not worth spending large amount of money on. I am not only speaking for my child but other parents who children have attended have felt the same way, but not willing to give an review. This place is not a true Professional dance studio. I don't usually write reviews, but after having a conversation with my daughter about how pleased I have been with her new studio, she suggested that I share our experience on Yelp. This was my daughter's first year at IDC and I can honestly say that the studio exceeded my expectation. I am a dance mom of 10 years and a business owner of many years. We have been involved with 3 studios prior to coming to IDC and we finally found what we were looking for at IDC: Professional owners with good character and integrity, trained-skilled dance instructors, and organization. My daughter LOVES being at the studio for practice and HOURS after she is finished. They communicate well throughout the year with newsletters and emails and there are no hidden fees. It's written in black and white what the cost will be at the beginning of the season. If you are a dance or cheer parent, you know that it is not cheap. But, I believe the money has been well spent. read more
