But if you're in need of electronic parts for *insert appliance/gadget/thing here*, this is the place to go to get them. This store has several floors, so it's bound to have whatever it is you're looking for (well, most of the time). It's worth nothing that I HAVE actually purchased something here, which is a battery-operated doorbell for my year-old, doorbell-less apartment! Only Php 200! It plays a generic beeping sound, and Beethoven's Für Elise, mind you.

I for one spent most of my time looking at Televisions at Automatic Center. This is because Automatic Center was one of the few places that would constantly update their line up of products with some of the newest models available. It's a spectacle to behold all those televisions playing videos on a loop. With each new generation of TV tech I found myself in awe over these things that would often be out of my reach given the price. I always thought that this must be how rich people watch TV.

In my case, I pump milk so that I can go to the gym and spend quality time with my husband. I also pump milk so I can get a few hours of sleep at night while hubby stays up to feed the baby. Breast pumps, especially the trusted brands, are quite expensive. They're a worthy investment though, if you want to breastfeed your baby for a long time. So when my trusty Phillips Avent electric pump decides to malfunction, I was in a state of panic. I didn't know where to bring it because we rarely hear people going to repair shops for breast pumps. But it's too pricey and important of a thing to just dump and replace with a new one. So I called the Phillips customer hotline and while they didn't agree to replace my pump with a new one, they referred me to a service center who can do the job. AVS electronics was near my place so I opted to have my electric pump repaired there. The fixing took only two days and I was able to get my pump again. It wasn't good as new, and I can see some residue of glue used to fix my pump, but it's working well so I guess they did a good job. I take extra care of my breast pump now, but at least I already know where to take them if it malfunctions again.

From the broccoli we'd having for dinner down to the kind of washer we'd use for our clothes- she was the queen bee of decisions and my father was the financer. I remember spending Sundays here with her. She'd often look around, take hours to decide on buying something then leave the place with a new refrigerator or air-conditioner. As for the latter purchase, that was 10 years ago and the other day, it finally gave in. And because I am now the woman of the household (and the only one living here) I had to buy a new one and of course it had to be done in Abenson. It was an easy experience. This Abenson is just 10 minutes away from my house. I went in, gave my specs, chose a brand, paid with my card and off I went. It didn't entail a grand production. RIght now, I am enjoying the fruits of my little errand protected from the sweltering heat outside and I am happy.

They've repaired everything I've ever broken from televisions, microwaves, water purifiers to refrigerators. They do the job really fast and they let you know how much the damage would be before they do anything. I've gone there so many times already, sometimes mad or sad, depending on what I'm having repaired and I always leave the place satisfied. It's sort of like an institution in BF and if you're just like me who has lived here all her life, then you've probably been here before.

Though, if you really want some cheap stuff for your house/apartment/humble abode of choice, do check out Save on Surplus for some really great deals. They mostly sell appliances, furniture, sports gear, electronics, and whole lot of other things imported from the US. If you're looking for affordable, vinyl players, they have this brand called Dick Smith (not the best name out there, I know). They have a great selection of affordable kitchen appliances for just about everything. If you're the outdoorsy type, they have a lot of sports gear such as balls, outfits, and even camping gear. I personally think that they do offer great deals on most of their items, you just have to choose 'em well and make sure you consider quality (not all will be brand spanking new) and for electronics, consider voltage requirements and warranty.
