I'm here every week. Sometimes 2x. I especially love the steamed fish fillet located right by the kitchen doors. The stuffed mushrooms are also a favorite but are only on the lunchtime buffet. Sometimes for the dinner buffet they put out a pork roast but only occasionally. Super friendly service and reasonably priced. My only complaint would be the temperature of a couple of the hot items but if you tell them they take care of it right away. Highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and btw, I do not care that the pan of crab legs is empty so often. There isn't enough meat in snow crab legs for me to bother with them. My husband used to make us COLOSSAL king crab legs. We've been going to Imperial Buffet since it opened but quality has declined. The General Tsau's Chicken has gotten a katsup style flavor, so we don't order this any more. This weekend pushed us over the edge. We ordered Orange Beef, which was inedible. It seemed like batter covered strips of fat, and tasted greasy. I was hard pressed to find something that looked like beef in the pile on my plate. It takes us alot for us to go out of our way to return something but my wife did and the hostess was rude and essentially told her there was "no problem", that it was our fault that we picked it up (10 minutes) late. Does the beef disappear ot turn to fat if you don't eat it quick enough??? She was unwilling to consider any ammends, even though she recognized my wife based on our frequenting of this place. Tried this place for the first time last week and I will never go back again. These people were rude to us and we've been in there for 20 minutes and already bringing us our bill. We only had one plate and they where ready to kick us out. The cups they give you are very small and they had food on the ground. I been going for years including the one in southington. They never post the price and the rules constantly change. They used to charge 9.99 for dinner unless you eat crab legs then they charged you more. Tonight they charged us 15.99 and me and my daughter didn't eat the crab legs. Although there was good service, I did not like how I was robbed. I was given a receipt originally saying that my total was 14 dollars for dining in. I gave my card and was under the impression that it would be exactly 14 dollars, turns out the bill was actually 51 dollars and I was unaware of it. The place is a bit small. They do not have a large seafood selection for lunch. But the food we really good not greasy like other places. I actually ate and wasn't immediately hungry after. My wife and I went here for dinner one evening and were very disappointed the food was cold and dry like it had been sitting out for a very long time. They did not replenish the food too often and when they did it was just a little bit and was mixed up with the old food . I have three reasons why I like it in the book. You should go to the Imperial Buffet someday. One reason is that they have good food choices. One of the good foods are Chinese donuts. I like them because they have a lot of sugar. Another reason is that they have pizza. They have small pieces and they are hot. Another reason is that they have dessert. For dessert, they have cookies and ice cream and pudding. The second reason is they have quick service. It does not take long for you to get your drinks. At the front desk there is always someone there to give you a seat. As soon as someone takes your order for drinks you can go up to the buffet and they have foods from two countries. The countries are America and China. The third reason is that it has a nice atmosphere. The seats look like a queen or king throne. Another reason is that the ceiling is pretty. It has stars on it and it looks like outer space. The last reason is the floor is nice. It has really pretty tiles. read more

The sushi here is pretty good and definitely a good deal. My go too is the eel roll, yum! The buffet looks pretty fresh and entrees are at a good temperature. It is also maintained well so that when food runs low, there is always a new fresh batch to come. The buffet table also looks clean and is well kept. This is the best chinese buffet i have ever eaten at in CT. there is a huge variety. i love the salad bar with all of the delicous fresh fruits- honeydew, cantelope, watermelon, kiwi and more! They also have delicious sesame chicken. On top of that they have a raw bar with steak and shrimp and vegtables and noodles and such that they will cook for you. This is the only chinese buffet I will eat at and its an hour away from where i live. its worth the trip once in awhile. read more

Avoid this place. Sadly, this establishment has fallen below the standards post covid. And it was barely average prior. The rice is bland and stale, and the food had definitely been sitting a while. I got a coke, which was flat, and was given another flat soda after I asked for a replacement, kindly. When she returned she slopped soda across my table, clearly perturbed. Then started pouring soda from my old cup to my new cup, which was already full, spilling again. Then brought me a tiny unopened bottle of cola and a foam cup with ice and proceeded to dump the soda upside down into the cup, fizzing and making a mess. It was clear they were serving from warm flat 2 liter bottles before I made issue. She stormed off finally and left my daughter and I in peace. She was extremely rude, and immediately started speaking loudly in her native tongue as soon as she walked away from the table. My 11 year old just stared at me in total shock. I've eaten hear 3 times and every time the crab leg tray is empty with one tentacle leg floating at the bottom. When they FINALLY put a few crab legs in the old people attack the station.. They pile on as many legs as they can onto their little plate and within seconds all that is left is that one tentacle leg floating around again. You can ask the lady who scoops out old muck and puts it on top of new muck in the buffet dishes until you're blue in the face for more crab legs and she just says ok and they don't come out for hours.... I drive past this place at least once a day and never stop. Don't look behind out back either... Gross stuff comes out of the back door. read more

I just really want to say something here because it amazes me at how rude some people can be. I went in, and it was me and my family. I was just celebrating my birthday, and my parents being the coupon fanatics they are, brought in a 10% off coupon that they clipped a while ago (it was a long time, but there was no expiration date). We asked kindly if they would take the coupon, and they said they were no longer accepting them. My Dad was like whatever, and paid for the meal. While they were out smoking, I grabbed the coupon, and went up to the front desk to ask what looked to be the lady in charge why they were unable to take our coupon. She was very snippy, and said that "we stopped taking those when the price went up". I asked her why she had to be so rude, and I began to say that we eat there all the time, and to lose a customer over $4 was just plain silly. She said, in the rudest voice I ever heard, "well you don't have to eat here if you don't want to". To be perfectly honest with you, my parents rave about this place to other people. The food is good, and we've told so many people about this place, it's really disappointing that I wont eat there ever again. Food is pretty good for a buffet, except the desert is really blend and tasteless. The price is a bit high too. The wait staff is a bit annoying really standing close by at all times and the worst thing is the check. They calculate the tip for you at 15%, 18% and 20%. They have special under 6 pricing (unsure of the next age group) for $5.95. They have made-to-order sushi, crab legs, and the hibachi area. Very family oriented, casual, clean--and a big sell for kids is an indoor Coi(?) pond. They're big and they're hungry... you can buy $.25 food pellets to feed them, as "eat your dinner" incentive. I enjoy Chinese buffet because I like the quantity and variety. But it helps if there is some quality included. This is a typical Chinese buffet - not much better or worse than others. So maybe that would give it three stars; right? Not so fast. It's a small buffet so the variety isn't nearly as good as, let's say, Vernon Super Buffet. So, 3 stars for being a Chinese buffet minus one for low variety = 2. The squid was good. And why can't Chinese buffet's make a decent dessert. There is only one reason, I gave this 1 star. I am a senior disabled widow,and I went alone to dine at this buffet. The manager tapped me on the back with a wine menu, and said to follow him. We have done my family reunion for the past two years in there. Sunday July 3, 2017, the treatment that we receive was of untruthfulness. We were a party of more of 20 people and they decided to put the bill all together instead paying one by one like we always do. We usually make a line and pay one by one, since some bring cash and other credit cards. We stood up and left very disappointed. We try to talk to the manager but they say that he was not there. Oh well, we have a whole year to find another restaurant. 22 people at $20.00=$440.00 plus tips that we usually leave at the table. Cute little Chinese Buffet. Like all others, their food can be left out a bit and a few times it gave me the runs.... Seems like a lot of buffets do this to me so I will try not to let that effect my stars. What will effect them is the price. It cost 2 of us $30 for lunch. I know sushi was included, but $30 for some flavored chicken and rice?! It was a special treat. They have a nice koi pond in the front and large isles loaded with food. American, Chinese, and sometimes things in between. Desert was always changed up too. The chocolate cake was so rich, I needed an entire glass of water to rinse out the headache. The place was often crowded, but there is so much seating an so many isles you would never notice. Parking lot is huge with a home depot right next door so there was no issue with parking. Staff seemed a little snooty and inattentive at times, but other times they were right there in a jiffy to refill my drink and ask if we needed anything. So customer service is a tweener star. If you don't mind the price and want to take a chance with the staff and quality of food (how long it has been left out), take a chance and try out the Imperial buffet. Better to make it there on a weekend with a crowd so that the food will be constantly refreshed. read more

An excellent value. I'm not a big crab legs fan, but they had them. Lots of seafood dishes, and many Asian food dishes on the buffet. I thought it was an excellent choice for a large group with some differing food restrictions for various members of the party, because everyone could choose what he liked best.
