I was so sad when Sung told me he and Susan (and Ollie) were moving away. Selfishly, because he is so good at what he does, but also because he is a such good person. A friend was seeing him many years back and when I developed tennis elbow playing golf she suggested I see him. After a few visits the pain went away and I was playing golf again. I didn't "need" to see him any longer. But then I starting thinking about chronic issues I had for as long as I could remember, so I asked him if he could help. I have been seeing Sung regularly over the past 6-7 years and I must say, his treatments just keep getting better! Not only have I been able to manage my stress and anxiety so much better but my sleep quality has definitely improved as a result of acupucture. About a year ago, I mentioned to Sung that I was concerned about my respiratory system since for more than 10 years every time I even get a minor cold it will turn into a sinus infection, bronchitis or even worse pneumonia and requires antibiotics. Because I have some allergies to antibiotics I tend to need broad-spectrum antibiotics which cause a lot fo digestive issues for months after taking them. He suggested a course of treatment with some supplements that may help and I have to say I was a bit skeptical at first but I recently had the flu and even though my cough lingered for a bit, I did NOT need any antibiotics this time! Awesome place. I am a new patient but am very pleased with the level of patient care and attentiveness Dr. Sung provides. The office is calming and clean and even comes complete with a super affectionate, sweet, and therapeutic dog - who would have thought?! Other than the Doctor, my favorite aspect. I have used In Balance for an herbs and nutrition consultation and will return for more nutrition consultations. Acupuncture has not been prescribed yet, but I will absolutely use his services once/if I am in need of this treatment. Dr. Sung is friendly, listens well, is compassionate and not self-serving. He comes across as very aware of the role and thoughts of the patient with prescriptions and his analysis. He wants to be forthright with you but also considerate of what you are going through and have tried. Dr Sung is the best, I went in with a sciatica pain that wouldn't allow me to walk. There were days that the pain would last all day leaving me with no movement, some other times the pain would come and go but it was constant. I thought I was too young to suffer so much. I've been seeing JB once a week since November and I am going skiing this weekend. I haven't even considered taking up my favorite sport since I broke my back. I realized yesterday during my treatment that I hadn't even hesitated to plan my trip to Tahoe. I wish I could communicate this breakthrough more eloquently... but JB f-ing rocks. I started at In Balance Acpuncture with JB Baranzini, and then moved to Sung Kim, as JB relocated his practice to Tracy, CA. I find both acupuncturist's very suitable for my ailments. In choosing an Acupuncturist I visited two that were covered by my insurance to see who might be a better fit for me. After today's visit it is so clear that it is Susan. What I think deserves recognition is the amount of time that Susan first took with me to understand me and my Medical History. She is also excellent at answering my questions in great detail.
