While it's a cool place to workout, this place is THE BEST when it comes to being a sports complex! This place used to be the Millenium Sports Complex before it was taken over by In-Shape, and you can definitely feel the sportiness. The gym has numerous tennis courts, racquetball courts, an indoor basketball court, a heated outdoor Olympic pool, a jacuzzi, saunas, AND towel service! The free-weights area doesn't get as crowded compared to other gyms and there's also a really cool outdoor adult playground for folks to focus on calisthenics. I love the vibe of this gym, the locker rooms are clean, and they have an awesome schedule of classes. (The water aerobics class on weekday mornings is the best for folks looking for mobility workouts.) They'll also occasionally have sports tournaments available for you to sign-up for, as well as Wellness events throughout the month. Don't forget to sign-up for the Fit Club on your app, which gives you points for being active (ie every time you check-in to the gym) that you can redeem for prizes! read more

The gym itself is workable. The increases in membership dues are not. Expect that your dues will be doubled or tripled eventually with no warning and without your consent. Good luck trying to cancel this membership. Mailed it in as instructed and canceled in the location and somehow it has never been processed by Inshape. Had to get my bank involved after proving the membership was cancelled and I'm still being billed. Never again. read more

This club has serious problems, and I don't know why people still use it. 1) The front desk people are extremely rude and condescending. I never get a smile from them, and when you talk to them, they respond to you as if you were a beggar. I canceled my membership because I don't want to see these snobbish faces. 2) I keep my membership in the summer to use the pool. But in one year the pool had no water in it for the entire summer; in another year, it was blocked in most of the days. 3) Lastly, when you cancel your membership, they charge you one extra month membership fee. When you asked why, they showed you that snobbish expression on the face as if that was the most stupid question they have heard in the world. I am done with In-shape at Merced. read more

I am a member of the club. My wife and I went out for a walk today. We decided to stop in at the Yosemite In-Shape. I am active in the pickleball community and wanted to say hello to the group. I scanned my card and went to the restroom. While I was away, someone at the front desk approached my wife demanding to see her membership. (We had just walked in holding hands) My wife explained that she had just walked in with me and we were going to the pickleball area to visit. By the time I returned from the restroom, my wife was ready to leave and never join the club. Why can't the staff at this club simply be kind to people? We weren't trying to get away with anything! So rude to approach people aggressively like that. Now my wife will never join me at the club. It makes no sense to be rude to people who walk in the front door! SMH read more

The gym facilities are nice (essential for my dance training) but unfortunately ruined by staff member Korey, who is a massive stalker and sexual predator. He was the first staff I met and gave me a tour and offered training so I thought he was professional (I would have never talked to him otherwise). He took advantage of this and pretended to be my boyfriend in front of the staff/gym, and sexually harassed me while acting passive-aggressive, and other weird behaviors that made me feel uncomfortable, me out so I blocked him/stopped initiating all contact on June 4 2021 and I do not know him. However, unfortunately he continued to sexually harass, haze, listen to personal convos, spread rumors/create gossip circles with other members and staff, accost, surveil/stalk me, make unwanted comments about me and harass me in other ways to this day. I want to say I like the gym, which would be 5/5 if not for this issue, but I feel drained, disgusted and violated from trying to avoid this harassment. Literally nothing will stop this guy from abusing/watching/harassing you/talking about you once he thinks he "knows" you, so please be careful women/minorities. I love this gym but it's way over packed and you can't get on all of your machines people sit on them and on their phones and don't move. The staff don't seem to stick with the rules they let kids in hot tube and don't say anything when there are rules about it my husband had a kid jump on him a few days ago and he got out. The early morning staff (4am staff) are all awesome! However the pricing of memberships increases as hours of operation decrease. This gym is already packed and decreasing hours is going to make it worse. Their website says it will close at 10 pm on Fridays, yet their IG account says 9pm on Fridays. read more

I am paying over $50/month for a membership at the Millennium Club in Merced, owned by In-Shape. I have two complaints: (a) They do not maintain the equipment (e.g., stretched rubber bands, missing or loose components e.t.c.). (b) Users sit on a machine for 10-20 minutes checking their cell phones and not exercising or they are between rounds. I asked a few of them to let me use the machine for a quick round (my rounds literally last a minute or less as I move quickly from machine to machine) and they would not let me. I talked to the gym personnel a couple of times, including today, and they brushed me off. I told them that an easy fix would be a sign setting a 10-minute limit per machine if other people are waiting to use it, to no avail. I would have given 0 stars if I could for the unprofessional attitude. read more

This place is not worth it if you plan on working out at night .. First they start mopping all the weight areas about 40 mins before closing. Second they turn the sauna off about 30 minutes before closing. Third the lights just shut off randomly in the locker rooms about five mins before closing and I mean pitch black I almost broke my leg q slipping coming out of shower .. It never was like this but this is what happens when you get the night crew who doesn't want to work .. if I can't use the gym up until closing then why would I want to pay full membership fees? Make sure you guys like my comment up cuz I'm not the first person to mention this .. horrible In-Shape in Yosemite in Merced ... This is the worst In-Shape in Merced as of now .. read more

have been paying $20 a month for a locker at the G street IN-Shape and also the Yosemite In-shape. Both places cut the lock off my locker and supposedly threw all my stuff in the trash!!! I had fins, goggles, swim caps, earplugs, swim suit cover, lots of expensive soap, lotion and toiletries back pack toiletry bag, kick board, etc all organized neatly in each locker. I don't buy cheep products. All my sports equipment came from McNamara Sporting goods store and all my soaps shampoos etc are not grocery store brands. They threw all my things away on G street during covid claiming it was what all In Shapes did, which was a lie because during covid Yosemite Inshape did NOT throw my stuff away! Those people don't do a damn thing to compensate. They did this before covid only I caught them at it and each time I caught them (3 times) they would claim it wasn't in the computer and then they would claim they fixed the computer and I would have no more problems! All a bunch of lies! When I went to that place on Yosemite on Friday I checked my locker and all my things were gone lock cut off my locker! The guy at the front desk told me he didn't know why they cut off my lock and threw my stuff away because it clearly says in the computer that I rent that locker! Another thing they painted that place a terrible shade of blue UGLY! and I noticed the locker toilet area was filthy! I want that place to pay me for all the things they have thrown away!!! The G street place was a nightmare and kept making excuses!! I will see if the Yosemite place compensates if not I will be back on Yelp to tell the rest of this ugly story. As far as I am concerned they broke into my locker and stole all of my things. I don't know if they threw my things away or kept what they wanted and threw away the stuff they didn't want? What ever they did it is a violation of ethics, responsibility and the worst customer service I have ever gotten in my life. 02/15/23 If I could rate this place as a 0 I would!! Today the manager at In Shape on on Yosemite finally called me! She said that her staff took the locks off lockers in July but my locker was not one that they took off. (Yeah right) She said that she is not responsible and that she doesn't know what happened to my things. I asked her, "Well aren't you the manager? She said, "Yes" I retorted, "Well then that makes you responsible for everything that goes on in that gym, and you should compensate me for all of the things that were stollen out of my locker." She said she could compensate me for anything. She acted horribly, that place is a joke, just like many people have told me!! She told me I could email Sharon the area manager at Sharon.lindenberger@inshape.com to complain to her. I said I wanted her phone number and that little do nothing irresponsible manager said she couldn't give me the area managers phone number that I could email her. It's called pass the buck. I have emailed their CEO and haven't had any phone call or email back so I guess these childish good for nothing people aren't going to do anything about this matter. That so called manager got very defensive. I told her I used to be a. manager and I was responsible for what happened even if I didn't do it. There's a lot to like about this gym: extremely friendly employees, good variety of equipment, generally clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is that the upstairs cardio room -- the one that faces the pools -- gets very warm and bright during certain hours of the day. If you're using the cardio machines, the sun might be shining directly in your face, an extremely unpleasant experience. Moreover, the direct sunlight makes the room much warmer than it should be (see photo of thermostat showing actually temperature of 76 degrees, when the room is set at 72). This could be easily remedied by installing window shades; in fact, the windows facing other directions have shades installed. I've complained about this to the staff, but as far as I can tell no steps have been taken to fix the problem. Come on, In Shape, shape up! read more

I joined this club when they first opened in Los Banos and left the Raquet Club for this peace of garbage club which I regret. When covid hit I stopped going but always paid my dues every month , in 2021 I had a major car accident that left me disabled and when I tried going to inshape they had moved my membership to Merced because they closed the club, 45 min away. I kept paying every month hoping that they would reopen but never did. I tried going to the one in Stockton because my therapy is in Stockton and to my surprise they wanted to charge me full price and didn't honor my membership which I paid extra money to obtain a $10 month fee a few years back , they didn't even allow me to use the premises without paying , all they cared about was money. I have been attending this gym for about 2 years now, mainly for the timed circuit, and the treadmills with the personal TVs. As such, I have noticed more than a few inconveniences, of which I discussed all of them with the manager Sharon, and I feel heard, and that what I have noticed is being addressed. I CENCELLED my membership here because lady who commented below my first review never tried to get the kids club hours changed or even make an attempt to go out of way, I personally think she just comments below to make it look like she will so that way when people see our reviews they'll see her response but never actually tries it. So I left, their kids club hours just weren't working with my hours, this is especially in reference to their friday hours closing earlier than 1 and not re-opening till 4:30 and 5pm and closed on sundays. Those hours didn't work for me, nor seemed fair to me since I was shelling out $79 a month. I've had better experience at 24 hours fitness. read more

Wow. I thought I was the only one. C T is so right! Yoga Jane makes the class SUPER uncomfortable. She does like to flirt. My boyfriend and I (I'm male) are switching classes. Her flirting with us and other men in the class is NOT relaxing. I just hope the other yoga instructors aren't like her. Totally uncomfortable. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, we brought this up to her. Nice size building. I love the aquatic classes, 3 pools. They have a sauna and hot tub. The hours are great and the staff is friendly. They have a trainer to help you if needed. There are different excercise classes that they offer. There are so many different types of equipment to choose from to keep up the level of workout you want and to keep you motivated. read more

This places looks high-end, but it's the same management as any other In-Shape. The showers randomly turn ice-cold, and employees don't enforce club rules. I don't pay $59/month to police the club. I suggest you save your money and go to the other In-Shape in town, or go elsewhere. Being a member during the remodeling was a nightmare-- they should have offered gift cards or discounted rates at the height of it, because there was so little to do. I had better and faster results at The Studio without having to put up with the stuff I did at this place, so I'm quitting In-Shape. read more

This is definitely a higher end gym. It has tennis courts, racquetball, a ping pong table, pool, standard cardio and weight machines. I come here because my boyfriend is part of this gym and he loves it, so when I am in town I get a guest pass for the gym. He has personal training sessions and his trainers are all great and he is seeing improvements. There are a lot of different types of equipment to use at this gym and you can definitely get a good workout in. Whenever I talk to the staff they all seem nice and helpful. read more

I'm generally very pleased with the recent upgrades to the club. There were much needed changes and I feel they did a good job. However the length of time it took to finish the job was frustrating, especially in the locker rooms where the floors were really gross! Where I think their biggest failure is in communication. It is almost non-existent. Even though they have everyone's email address, there is nothing sent out informing members about the activities, updates, or schedules. There is a new club opening on R Street in a week's time and I know nothing about it. It is useless asking the front desk. Often they are as clueless as we are. Whoever is in charge of communications is really falling down on the job. I just checked the web site today for hours, since it was Labor Day. It says that they were opened as of 5:00 this morning. When I went there, it was posted not open until 8:00. Another wasted trip! Get your act together people! read more

The gym is great. But the lap pool is absolutely filthy. On several occasions there have been dead roaches floating around on the bottom, and there is often trash, hair and dirt in the pool. The water is ALWAYS murky. In a clean pool, you should be able to put your head under water on one end, and see clear to the other end of the pool. That is NEVER been the case in this pool. And the most disgusting thing is that the water has a smell. Pool water should either smell like chlorine, or nothing. This pool's water smells like pond water. If they don't clean it properly, the city health department will be contacted. read more

i joined In Shape July 1015. I signed up for two personal training sessions per week with Callah. I have been very pleased with her approach to training, her knowlledge and enthusiasm. My sessions are challenging, fun, and never boring. The gym itself is usually quiet when I train, I rarely have to wait to use equipment. The staff is friendly and professional. The pools, spa, and suana are clean. I look forward to all of my workouts. There could be more classes, but my membership allows me to take classes at the G St. facility which is fine. LOVE it! I just joined my young family up and we already love it! The facilities are very well set up (you don't need to walk past all the Meat Heads to get where you want), the amenities are well sized (weighing scales in the bathroom so noone has to see your numbers), and the STAFF!!! It's still hard for me to believe that I'm going to a gym and that I actually LIKE it! I love Marie at the front entrance, always feels like I'm saying hello to my mom;) love Verdie in the childcare who comes up with all her own crafting ideas for our precious babies, wow!, and love my trainer Callah, red hair or blonde, she's so creative with our sessions. She can make a machine do things you never thought it could without compromising my safety;) I love going to the gym, almost more than running. The results have been wonderful thus far. I have been a member at In-Shape Yosemite Ave for just over two months now. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The trainer I work with once a week, Callah, has been great. Not only has she taught me how to use the various pieces of equipment safely (I find some of the equipment intimidating!) and to construct a workout I can then replicate on my own time (and at home), she was able to discuss a healthy eating plan with me and set up realistic, attainable goals. She is a strong motivator, without being over the top. The staff is courteous and helpful, and welcome you by name when you arrive. The indoor facility is clean and well kept. The only complaint I can muster at this point is other patrons occasionally leave equipment in the wrong places. I highly recommend In-Shape Yosemite Ave. read more
