!!MASSAGE DAY.... is my favorite day of the week!! This weekend we decided to get away for our mini vacation and my husband mentioned a little town in Mid Cali Bishop ...my first reaction was to look up to get a massage of course ...I chose In the Zone! 5* I can tell you this was the best decision I made. Steve came out to greet me after even me with my moon boot (sprained tendon) and he asked questions and made me feel so welcomed! Once the session started I felt so relaxed and pain free from head to toes! Now i have experienced some good massages (Vegas & celebrities masseuse) in the past but I can tell you Steve definitely relieved my stress, pain on my torn tendon and muscle tension on my neck and now i am walking pain free. The therapist made me feel very comfortable and was respectful of privacy while giving the massage which is something I always worry about. I suggest getting the 90 minute massage! I was in town to climb Boundary Peak, and was having a lot of hip pain/issues. I had gotten two massages before I left that didn't really help. I went to Steve the day before the climb, and after a massage that included a lot of ROM/stretching, I left almost completely pain free and was able to climb without any discomfort. In fact, I'm still mostly pain free. He uses a unique technique that really works well for athletes. I will definitely stop by again when I'm climbing in that area. I was a little nervous as a tourist, not having word-of-mouth personal references, but I selected this place based on the Yelp reviews and the business' website and I was not disappointed. If anything, I think the massage therapist out-performs the reviews here. I wish he lived/worked in my home town! Steve is excellent about communicating through modern means (which many massage therapists are not, they insist on voice mail only) - e.g., confirming an appointment via text message. Steve is highly skilled and very dedicated to what he does, and adaptable to the needs of the client. Steve is the BEST! I kinked something in my neck/shoulder and, not only was he able to get me in right away, he did his absolute best to relieve my pain (not at all easy with that type of injury). I work in the outdoors hiking with a heavy pack and tools all day. So it's safe to say I put some stress on my body. My back and shoulders get really tight and stretching can only do so much so I decided to get a massage. I found Steven after doing some research and could not be more satisfied. I got a 90 minute massage and felt absolutely amazing afterwards. He also incorporated an exfoliating back scrub which was a very pleasant treat. He really worked my traps which get really tight and knotted up with my work and they felt loosey goosey afterwards. I'll definitely be seeing Steven throughout the summer when I'm not out in the backcountry to make sure my body has some recovery time and stays injury free. Would definitely recommend seeing him if you're an outdoors enthusiast looking to take care of yourself for the long haul or if you just want to treat yourself.
