Trusting someone to tend to your brows is a delicate choice as I'm sure many fellow lady Yelpers will understand. It's a tumultuous relationship and one wrong move can see you passively aggressively ignoring your former beautician and starting a fresh with someone new.
I decided to put my faith in In Therapy in Brisbane's Red Hill in the hope they'd restore my trust and give me the neat and tidy brows I so longed for after a rather disastrous brow wax some two months ago. With the growing out finally done it was time to put myself back on the market, so to speak. Their service menu claimed they "specialise in fabulous brows" and I eagerly set off to see just how fabulous my brows would be.
I'm greeted by my technician and ushered into a therapy room and it's not unlike any other brow waxing experience of the past 12 or more years. Before long my technician has spent some 20 minutes working her magic on my brows and when I see them in the small hand mirror she provides to me I am proud to say, "Why yes, don't you two look fabulous." Back in their trim and tidy shape I happily pay $24 for the experience.
Of course, brows isn't the only treatment In Therapy offers. They are a full-service beauty salon offering massage, facials, spray tan, mani and pedis. Perhaps the best thing that my sensitive skin praised them for was their use of organic strawberry wax. There was no extremely redden skin afterwards or strange looks from onlookers as I walked back to the office.
With this being my second visit to In Therapy (the previous for a file and polish of the ol' fingernails) I can say that each time I walk in I feel instantly calm and like I'm away from the hustle of city life. I can't wait to go back and try more from their service menu.
