Then I was greeted by the person who took my order and made my food... he was very friendly. I've been to several Peruvian places and I enjoy their rotisserie chicken. The chicken was season well and the string beans had just enough taste that they weren't too bland. I was very shocked by the rice which was a bit over cooked and had zero flavor. I decided to try this place after hearing about it and driving past it for months. I placed my order online and went to pick it up. When I arrived there was an issue with my order not being in the system, but the manager handled it and my order was put together very fast. As I headed home I could smell the spices through the bag. Everything was delicious! The chicken and green beans were seasoned perfectly and this was my first time having yuca and I really liked it with the sauces. I've always loved good rotisserie chicken and this Peruvian place is one of the ones I keep coming back to. They don't try to do a million different sides, so the ones they have are all excellent and fresh. I love the plantains, the string beans are phenomenal and their black beans and rice are a great staple. Black beans and rice are two separate sides, but if you ask they will put a little black bean on top of your rice. The chicken is seasoned really well moist and delicious. Second day in a row here at this joint for lunch. I love the way the chicken is seasoned and is cooked over crackling charcoal. The sides to choose from are flavorful and very filling for the portion size they give you is large. The guy working could tell it was my first time there and he added a few extra sides with sauces for me to try. The potato wedges were incredible. Also, the place is very clean. The chicken is hot, flavorful and fresh, there is a good choice of sides (I always have to get the plantains as one of mine), the side servings are generously sized, and the place is clean and convenient. I did find out that if you order through Yelp, you pay higher prices which I think is bullshit and super unethical but clearly Yelp isn't going to stop them, so just order in the store or call. I got the quarter chicken and two sides. They do chicken justice here. For a bird that can be so boring, you'll find tons of flavor and character. Really, really good stuff. It was sooo yummy, I ordered half chicken with 2 sides and the chicken was perfectly broiled, juicy succulent. Reliably fast and delicious. You can walk in and out with perfectly roasted, irresistibly seasoned chicken and the sides of your choice in ten minutes or less. My personal favorite sides are the plaintains, fries, green beans, and yucca, but I've tried pretty much all of them except the fried rice and they're all solid. Green sauce is spicy and fresh and yellow sauce is creamy and garlicky...both are delicious. I've seen this place many times. Didn't think anything of it because I thought it was an extension of the liquor store. I've been to OTHER Peruvian Chicken places in Highlandtown and though they are not bad, it wasn't fantastic. I did my usual Y-search for what I want to eat and saw Inca Chicken. Saw the great reviews and figured - it's time to give it a try. I'm a bit picky with food, so I expected from the reviews that this was the place to be. I was not disappointed. Thank you to all the other yelpers but definitely thank you to the chef's of Inca. I had the half a chicken with dark meat, fried rice and plantains. I also ordered the Lomo Saltado. The chicken was juicy and had some wonderful flavors, the plantains and rice were a good accompaniment. The flavors from the Lomo Saltado were fantastic - sirloin was juicy and tender and the same flavors continued on to the sauteed onions and tomatoes. The steak fries got a little soggy and since I like my fries crispy, I would have preferred them on the side. Now the menu is only up on the sign with no explanation, so I would have asked for them on the side if I would have known. There is no to go menus that I saw and without knowing what comes with items - I am not one to ask. I like to just read the descriptions and request what I want and how I want it. That's just my thing...guess I don't like to bother anyone. All in all...the place was clean, friendly, and worth my dollars. I will definitely go to Inca's over the others. AWESOME Peruvian chicken...dare I say better than Chicken Rico? Tough call, but what I really enjoyed about Inca is that their seasoning doesn't have the salt-overload that you typically find at other Peruvian chicken spots (and that's coming from a notorious over-salter). I always go with the half chicken so leftovers abound, and I recommend the pinto beans and fried rice. Drizzle the beans on those lovely little grains to soak up all the savory sauce.
