A restaurant for ALPACA. In September, we went to try Inca Paisa. A fusion Peruvian/Columbian restaurant (21-19 Broadway). We had read several articles about them online in several Facebook groups, including Give Me Astoria and East Something New in Queens. I first noticed Inca Paisa when I went to the Bel Aire diner and told my partner we needed to review them. They were swamped with patrons at that time, and we decided to go at lunchtime on a Saturday when it was less busy. We ordered the lomode de cerdo a la plancha (skirt steak, white rice, beans, sweet potatoes, and salad) and the house special calamari. Their dessert menu is very limited, so we ordered the torta de almojabana (cheese bread pudding with guava sauce and ice cream). Our dishes were excellent, perfectly cooked, and delicious. The skirt steak was cooked exactly the way I liked it, medium well done! In the process of dining, we found our waitress very helpful and attentive, giving us lots of recommendations. We also noticed how carefully they had thought out the layout and interior design of the restaurant, creating a relaxed ambiance. On the walls, for example, they had carved images of native animals found in Peru and Colombia, even an Alpaca. Yes, an Alpaca (see website for image). The food is mad good. Ceviche is bangin and the Meat is awesome...BUT wish the service was better. We asked twice for them to lower the music bc it was so loud and the restaurant was empty! Just me and my guest and we could barely speak. Instead of putting the music down THEY RAISED it. Then one waitress just grabbed our food to clear the table before asking if we were done too. I don't know...normally this place is awesome but lately the service has been weird. OH! And they forgot to bring chimichurri sauce on both our orders. read more

I met a friend at this place in a strip mall in Astoria. The servers spoke mostly spanish but they were great. When my friend came, we sat at a table and our server recommended some dishes which we ordered: empanadas and lomo saltado which were both great. Food was salty (arroz chaufa with vegetables), pechuga en salsa de champiñones (chicken with mushroom sauce), not enough sauce -and the chicken portion was tiny and thin, entraña a las parrilla (grilled steak) also salty- Our waiter was nice but might have been new to the restaurant as every question we had he had to go ask what appear to be the manager (who was at the bar having drinks with friends and kept on calling all the waiters to have a shot with them). We were a group of 4 and we all felt the same. If the food wasn't decent, they would get no stars. The service is absolute trash. The waitress is extremely rude and you can't even reflect the service in the tip because they already add it in the total. They're also incredibly forgetful and you have to flag them down for the same thing multiple times. read more

Went a week or so ago. The food was absolutely delish. I'd otherwise rate lower but that would take away from the kitchen. The lower rating comes from the service. It was horrible. The staff gave attitudes and were not attentive. My friend accidentally spilled her water. The staff handed her napkins to deal with it herself. It was only until I reacted that they decided to take action themselves. The cocktails were served long after the food even with an empty restaurant. I've worked in fine dining and the service industry most my life. The attitudes and lack of service were disappointing and even more so with such great food. The restaurant has immense potential but the service does not match the effort of the kitchen. Kudos to the chef read more

I was here last friday with my husband, for our surprise they had live music that day, a band of Latin jazz, wich my husband being Dominican loved! We ordered the lomo saltado and bandeja paisa, everything was delicious, full of flavor, my husband loved the chicharron. our server was friendly, and recommended the best options, food took a bit of time since restaurant was full, but had some cocktails while waiting. will be definitely comming back soon. read more

I just moved to Astoria and is blessed to live walking distance from this beautiful gem. Don't worry they have a parking lot! Went here for the first time 3 weeks ago and been eating once a week since then. All the dishes I've tried have been delicious especially the chicken breast with special mushroom sauce (ordered 2x), jalea peruana, lomo saltado and entrana a la parilla! Yummy food, great portions and a variety of sauces. Drinks are on point: passionfruit sangria and Inca paisa mule! Shoutout to Paula & Sergio for giving my friends a great time. Loved the music too! 1st and foremost the ambiance is beautiful! It really exudes serenity and combined with the lighting. It puts you in a mellow and relaxing state to enjoy your meal! There is a lot of attention to detail in the design! When picking out a spot that's important and Inca Paisa creates that ideal atmosphere! From the entrance, through the dining room and the bathroom. The service was prompt, greeted an seated right away! Server always checked in to see that we were alright! The food is out of this world! Extremely delicious! Particularly, the rotisserie chicken is juicy with no oil. The Papa en salsa Huancaina was a great start! The sauce was rich! The Lomo Saltado De Carne o Pollo was mouthwatering!
