This family owned establishment is truly lovely! This is my 3rd time dining here with close friends I have here in Buffalo! I always make a point of stopping for Jassa's delicious cuisine. His chicken wings are crispy, beautifully spiced & the sauce is divine. His chai is the real deal, highly recommend. I love the chicken korma & garlic naan. Tell your friends.

This was my first visit here and WOW! I was impressed! My husband and I had movie tickets to see Pee Wee's Big Adventure at the North Park Theater to honor the recent passing of Mr. Paul Reubens so I said let's make a night of it and try India Gate right down the street. I adore Indian and he likes it too. So we made reservations for 7pm on a Sunday. When we got there it was obvious we didn't need a reservation as the place wasn't very busy but the gentleman who greeted us knew my name as soon as I said while looking around "we have a reservation-- not that I think we needed one but hey--" lol We decided to sit on the patio and I'm glad we did. It was such a nice evening and we watched the cars and bicycles go by. We had quite a bit of time before our movie so we started with cocktails. A Heineken for him and a strawberry Lassi martini for me. YUM!! When it came to the food, we started with an order of beef samosas, which were very good. We also sprang for a plate of chicken pakora. My husband had never had pakora before and he didn't like it, but he liked the samosa quite a bit. For our entrees he went with the beef curry and I stepped out of my usual and went with the chicken vindaloo. I almost always get Makhani-- unless I go with saag alu, but I decided to branch out and I'm glad I did. It was great. Of course I had to have some garlic naan and a small side of raita, and when I was about to order some mango chutney, our server asked if he could make a suggestion and then easily talked me into trying the spicy pickles. WOW!! They were so good!! We I should add that we asked for our dishes to be made spicy and boy oh boy did we get spicy! Don't get me wrong, my husband and I wanted it spicy-- it's just that we usually don't get it. If we order delivery and ask for spicy, it comes spicy. If we go in person and ask for spicy, we get something closer to mild. I have come to the conclusion that people who look like us who THINK they like spicy food, actually don't. WELL, WE DO! When I go to Vietnamese restaurants I get often have to get a dish of chopped Thai chilis on the side of whatever I've ordered because it usually isn't hot enough. But this place accommodated us right out the gate!! Phew!! This is the first place I've been to in the Buffalo area that actually made the food hot enough for us the first time! My super picky husband was very impressed and said he'd be happy to come back here with me often! Now that's a stamp of approval! Thank you, IG Hertel! We loved everything and we'll see you soon!

The food is amazing. It is very authentic, always fresh and tasty. The staff is helpful with making decisions and super friendly. Value to portion is spot on. They have tons of naan bread choices, all good! You won't leave hungry or unsatisfied.

Cute intimate spot with great hospitality. I suggest the Thursday buffet where you can try out an assortment of things.

*Taste of Buffalo review* Festival food can sometimes be subpar just due to the pace and quantity at which they have to make it but this was delicious! The flavor was very well seasoned - I personally like a tomato-ey sauce and this was perfect. The only thing I would change is to make it spicier. I added the restaurant to my list to visit because I'm sure it will be even better. And they gave a giant portion for what it cost.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in the whole of USA hands down . The flavors are very rich , dishes are authentic and service is class apart. Amazing ambience and nice atmosphere. Jaspal took special care of us and made the best Punjabi food we have ever had in USA

Beautiful restauraunt. Lovely, clean, lavish feel. staff was great. Everyone was quick, friendly and attentive. My drink was okay, but I really was excited that they had a cocktail menu. They had a separate drink menu that included tea, smoothies, cocktails and wine (and maybe beer? I dont remember). I always appreciate a good drink menu! The food menu was also extensive, well organized, and felt like a nice book! All sorts of options, including vegetarian. This was my first time eating Indian food so i loved how everything had a description. Food came out hot and in large portions. Everything was also very reasonably priced. I ended up getting garlic naan (delicious) and chicken butter masala. This was my first time eating indian food, and i'm not sure if its for me, but i'm glad I tried it (i'm just not super into spicy food, but of you love lots of seasonings and spice, you'll enjoy it!) They also have mild or hot options for most things, which is cool. Overall great experience. I recommend if this is a cuisine that you typically enjoy.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place before! Hands down, my number one option for Indian cuisine. Conveniently located on Hertel, they have their own parking lot and generally aren't too busy. The waiter is always super friendly and inviting. Anything you want, he will try his best to cater to you! The lamb kabobs are delicious and served with a perfect brown sauce to top it off. The brown sauce has a bit of a sweet aspect to it. The butter chicken tikka masala is my favorite dish. The chicken is tender with a creamy sauce. The chicken tikka masala is a bit spicy and has a lot of onions, tomatoes and peppers. Nonetheless, a wonderful experience everyone should try!

My mom, dad, and I were searching for Indian restaurants and we found India Gate. It has great reviews and for good reason! It totally lived up to the reviews! The food, service, and ambiance/decorations were all incredible! Next time, we will bring my grandparents and my sister! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

Stormin' Crab offers their blue crabs one of two ways: Either added as a side to any boil (topped with your favorite seasonings), or served as a fried crab basket. The oyster appetizer (sold as six or twelve) can be raw or grilled. I adore them raw, and these are Bluepoints! They were plump, glistening, and had a great sweet and briney flavor. My husband's gumbo was thick with rice and andouille sausage, with baby shrimp. It also had a powerful black pepper kick. Very tasty! The boil arrived on a stainless steel platter in a large plastic bag, ballooned out with steam. We had chosen the butter, medium spicy. I thought the saltiness overpowered the flavor of the seafood, but your mileage may vary. Combo C had so much food we took a third of it home! We really enjoyed our meal here!

We ordered the cajun mix for crawfish and snow crab and garlic butter snow crab. All the boils are doused full of butter flavored oil (not real butter) which didn't allow for any flavor to reach your tongue or the meat. I may be spoiled with real Louisiana and Texas crawfish and seafood boils but the oil was so unpleasant. The crawfish was oily, flavorless, and tasted dirty. The crab was probably presalted and just reheated in the boil. I asked for some cajun seasoning and salt to sprinkle on top but there was just too much oil. I am disappointed with this type of boil and hope I can find a more traditional type with no oil somewhere in Buffalo.

I'd call this a little below decent and terrible variety. The buffet has less choices than a hotel breakfast. There was one small table and both sides has the same thing. There were pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, chicken nuggets, some type of cake thing I didn't eat, plain yogurt, jello, rice pudding and toast. Again it was ok. I had the waffle and French toast. Soggy. The sausage was not very good. Bacon, have to find the good pieces. Same with the eggs. Toast was strange rice pudding was good as well as the little Greek bun things. All in all would probably not return. If the dinner was cheaper maybe try that but if it's anything like the breakfast quality I would say not worth $26 and not cheaper than other options around. Service was friendly though.

We wanted to go to iHop or Dennys, but decided to give the local breakfast buffet a chance, horrible idea. The food was hard and stale. They were nice but definitely rushing us, even to pay. Ambiance was okay. Bright and peaceful. Also, I did not check the reviews before going.

Still Friendly, after all these years, and a very good Chinese buffet. What was really different this time was some menu changes to the lunch buffet. They had eggplant in garlic sauce-- delicious. They had egg fu yung, with pork gravy at hand. Also very good. Have never seen either of those at a Chinese buffet before. We were there a week ago, so not surprising that I don't remember the third item that was new to the buffet scene. But I have to mention that the green beans, a buffet staple, were perfect. The only fish, however, was a fried fish, tilapia, I think. Frank, a mostly vegan guy, enjoyed a lot of shrimp, but missed mussels and clams. I'm not going to tell him, but if the eggplant in garlic sauce was instead of mussels, I was happy. Every hot dish was hot enough and every cold dish cold enough. There are a lot of good Chinese buffets in the Buffalo area. Friendly is one of the best.
