I hope those prices stay the same as I am keen to stock up on some for presents for the many female family members later in the year. Now that I know they actually have their own store,and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

I haven't bought any clothing from here (...yet) but I did buy some beautiful Turkish towels that I gifted to my Dad's partner for Christmas. She loved them so much she's already been back in store to buy more. The café is also a treat. The coffee is strong and rich - best black in my opinion - and the owner, Drew is a delight. They also sell Tokyo Bikes at the café (the only stockists in NZ) and some really cool leather bike accessories! If only I was confident enough to ride a bike around Auckland! If you haven't been to The Shelter it is well-worth checking out and even though it's high end all of the staff are lovely - no snobbery here!

For starters, I should probably state that I am not Kilt's target customer. Their clothing is definitely geared towards the older generation of Ponsonby dwellers as it stocks a wide range of to-the-knee dresses, flattering diaphanous tops and well cut trousers in a variety of prints and styles and lots of bags, jewellery and belts to go with them. Some of the clothes are actually really lovely; they have some gorgeous prints and it's obvious they are very well made and designed. I just hate the way all of the clothing is displayed side-facing in two long lines from the front to the back of the shop. It gives the place a real op-shop vibe that does absolutely nothing to showcase the items of gorgeous clothing hidden in the queue. The same applies to the stark white walls and lack of any sort of character in the shop. I just wish the décor reflected the clothing more and did a little bit more to entice you in there.

The best thing about the place, is that it stocks a lot of brands you don't see around the place. Mostly American labels, but others thrown in too. They're going to be getting in Rachel Zoe's range. Other highlights? Their cashmere and bags. My mother bought a dress from there recently, a navy shift. The pricing is on the higher end - this is nice stuff. I can imagine Remuera moms coming here and blowing a tonne of cash. Little Stitch is situated right next to Dry & Tea in that pocket of Newmarket behind Rialto that seems to be upwardly mobile of late. The store is pretty small but very clean and light and they've used their space really well. There are ample mirrors for those who are vain. Kidding. Kind of.
