You know...the bragger, the…read morepartier, the politico, and of course, the liker -- the person that likes everything anyone and everyone posts. Personally, I'm a lurker. I check it daily but I post minimally. However, I finally lived out the liker lifestyle when I saw my wedding photos taken by Blend. Seriously, I was 'Liking' all over the place! Blend Photography consists of a husband and wife team, whose artistic vision blends (see what I did there!?!) to deliver the perfect results for your event. Together, they were able to create the exact look and feel I was looking for and capture all those important moments of the big day. I found Blend Photography through a simple Yelp search...thanks again, Yelp! I was panicky and frazzled. I just did an engagement session with another photographer, I was less than thrilled. Very, very less than thrilled! So I started searching and calling. Jen from Blend quickly returned my call and called my nerves immediately. Yes, they had my date open and yes, she could meet with me to discuss my event and 'vision.' Already, I was confident in my choice...I loved what I saw online, I loved that she could make me feel comfortable immediately over the phone and I loved that she was willing to work with my hectic schedule. And after a meet and greet, I realized I was very, very confident with Blend. Our engagement session took place during an evening following a super hot day. Unfortunately, we kept having to reschedule because of the heat wave we were having during that time. I so glad we kept on rescheduling...no one wants to look at photos of a sweaty, kissy couple with frizzy hair. Luckily, the evening we took the photos was perfect, even though it was still warm. Jen and Rob had some great ideas in mind for shots and locations but also made sure to capture the spots that my guy and I wanted as well. And then our big day came. Leading up to the wedding day, Jen kept in touch via email to solidify the details of the actual day. She also made sure to find out which shots/poses/locations were most important to me. Both Jen and Rob wielded cameras that day, making sure to capture every moment from multiple angles. They definitely caught some great shots, but made sure to stay unobtrusive during the most important moments. And most importantly, they stayed very respectful of the flow and traditions of the wedding and the synagogue. A few weeks later, I was finally able to see the amazing shots on their website. They also promptly had a disc and a letter granting me rights to reproduce the photos waiting for me as soon as it was ready. Unfortunately, the wedding album did take some time to get to me -- however this was because of some issues with their lab. The wait was long, but in the end it was worth it -- the photobook was great. Just a tip though -- make sure your let them know of every shot you want/need. They are not mind readers and because of that mistake on my part, I feel like I lost out on a shot of an important custom from the ceremony. So yea, I'm definitely happy I chose Blend to be part of my big day. I guess its more than just 'like' -- its 'love' when it comes to the great photos to remind me of that amazing day.

She previously photographed one of…read moreour good friends weddings and we loved her photos so much that we knew we had to interview her when we started to plan our own. She's amazing, responsive, kind, and a generally great human. She flew out to San Francisco to do our engagement photos and it was such a good day! She made us feel comfortable and laugh and the photos turned out amazing. Fast forward to our wedding day, and she was even more amazing! She captured every wonderful part of the day, wrangled our families into group pictures, and in general was just a delight to have with us on our wedding day. She kept everything on time and we couldn't be happier with everything. The photos of course turned out fantastic. She's so great at capturing the perfect light and flattering candids. We almost want to get married again just to have a reason to hire her again!

GREAT decision on our behalf! All of the photos over the course of our package turned out beautiful. She gives each photo a little retouch and/or enhancement which makes them glow. We are currently booked for a maternity session in just a few weeks and will be doing another milestone package for the new baby we are expecting in the next month or so. The good: Holly is excellent on the day of wedding. She is…read morecalm, cheery, creative, directive, and an excellent communicator. One thing that I appreciated hearing from her is that anytime I needed a break, I could let her know. That gave me a lot of ease and I felt comfortable telling her when I needed a break or when things were too much. She's very intuitive in that way. She let the bridal party take breaks and she checked in with me when needed about what was next. She worked well with other vendors. Her close up photography is outstanding with details...ties, jewelry, vows, you name it. Outstanding and incredible. Overall, communication was decent leading up to the wedding. She reliably responded to emails within 24 hrs business day which I appreciated because many of my vendors weren't that way. The not so good: Holly uses a clunky program to communicate via email with her clients. Even though she reliably responded within 24 hours, searching our emails with her and viewing things like our invoice and our contract was a pain. You have to create usernames and passwords, and reading previous emails with her were a mess to search and read. Her program isn't user/client friendly. I am totally 100% for businesses to document things in writing so I get why she uses the program, but it's just a poor program. The best case in point about this is that the program automatically generated an email to my fiance and I about a due final payment to be paid online. At first we thought this was helpful so we faithfully paid the remaining balance online. But then we got a panicked email from Holly saying our contract says we needed to pay cash or check and that there are huge service fees for paying credit card. It ended up being a huge pain for both us and Holly to figure out...we were irritated (as was she!) About the fact that we were asked to pay online by credit card. When I pay...I don't generally look back at the contract and read the fine print about whether to pay cash or check...not when I'm juggling multiple vendors and multiple contracts and payment due dates. The contract in it of itself is not easily accessible without having to dig In a myriad of emails to find the login for the website and then actually login. Finally, Holly's pricing covers up to 8 hours of photography. At the end of the day I kind of wish I went with a photographer that covered whole day photography instead. We had to pay an extra hefty sum to get Holly to stay and take pictures of our reception and our sparkler exit. The reception pictures we had to pay extra for were golden and so treasured because there were things that went on during our reception that we didn't even know but she captured wonderfully. The sparkler photos were kind of a disappointment and didn't look great (people were too spaced out, the framing of the photos were poor). The extra money we had to pay for Holly to stay a couple extra hours were worth it mostly for the dancing photos and group photos she took, but definitely not the sparkler photos...which kind of made me wonder if it would have been better for us to pay for a photographer that included whole day services. Overall we do recommend Holly as she is a great day of photographer. There are a couple things we wished were different but nothing absolutely groundbreaking. We received our photos about 1-2 months after our date and there were about 1,000 photos! Some of them were duds as expected but some will end up on the wall!

HARD PASS. I purchased a Groupon for 2 people to do the cell phone walking tour back on May 3rd…read more There were no dates available to register for the class on the website so that should have been a red flag, however, the rating on Groupon was 4+ stars. I had to email, send messages on the website and call many times before I heard back from someone. When I got a hold of someone, they told me that they only do the class once a month. My friend and I scheduled the class 3 weeks in advance. I got a text message confirming that we could make it on the day of the tour. I confirmed. We showed up at the DIA as instructed at noon and when we arrived, I got a text that the "teacher" was running 30 minutes late. My friend and I waited over an hour and no one showed up. Not the instructor or any other people to take the walking tour. I find it hard to believe that they are promoting this tour on Groupon and only one person a month is trying to schedule the tour. I called the person 2x and she didn't answer and then someone showed up over an hour later as it was going to rain. This is unacceptable. The person that showed up was not wearing any shirt or badge to indicate any affiliation with Photo Sensei. Additionally, when we questioned where the tour would go, she said "she wasn't sure" and she would have to check her phone. She also mentioned driving somewhere, which is a bit fishy as we were prepared to go on a "walking tour" not alone in some strangers car. I also noticed that any positive reviews for this company were from many years ago. Be aware of this.
