As good as it gets in central indiana. I have been on many occasions for the lunch buffet and this is mostly a good exchange of what ends up being $12.00 for unlimited very good food and service. My servers have always been attentive with the water and bread. One time, my stomach was upset but I still went to the lunch buffet thinking that it would subside after I had eaten a bit. I did not, and after a few bites I needed to leave for how uncomfortable I felt. I explained the situation to the manager and he insisted that I leave with a to go box full of food and fresh nan bread. I have ordered the dosa and veg biryani as a la cart entrees and they were excellent. Dosa was crisp and full of fresh ingredients while the biryani was HOT in the best of ways. read more

I try to go here at least once a week because the food is delicious and the price is incredibly fair. I usually eat dinner (not the buffet at lunch) and I am a big fan of their malai kofta (vegetarian dumplings in a spicy cream sauce). I had the buffet once and it was really good, I prefer sitting down at dinner though. worth every star. I cannot think of any negative critical points to mention. So I've been here twice: once for the chicken tikki, once for the chana masala. I'm not even a vegetarian but it was DELICIOUS!! Will definitely be back for a third time. If you are eating Indian anywhere else in the city, you are doing it wrong. The spices stand out here and make everything else seem bland. The decor is warm and rich unlike the thrown together remnants of failed restaurants other Indian places have going on. They have a great selection for vegans, so I go home full and happy. read more

My daughter has been craving Indian food since we moved here and I decided to take her to check out the lunch buffet before she started at her new school. The service was great. We we're greeted and seated immediately. Our drinks were filled and the check came quickly when we finished. The variety of foods to try was great but the food was just okay. For the price I can't complain because with tip it was only $20 but I think we'll keep looking for a local favorite. read more

MY FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT I always eat at the lunch buffet because it is the best deal for the price. My 2 favorite items on the buffet are the palak paneer (Indian cheese with spinach), and the paneer marsala (Indian cheese in a delicious marsala sauce). Another good thing is that they bring freshly baked naan (Indian flatbread) to your table over the course of your meal. Great Indian food locally! Great naan! Order a variety, and order often! As good as the best Indian food restaurants I've been to in North America. Doesn't hit the "gold standard", but that requires a 17-hour flight across 12 time zones! Buffet has a wide selection and each dish properly reflects characteristics of its type. Lots of choices for naan, and it's delicious! If you like Indian food and live locally, this is your spot. I'm not a big tandoori fan, but the paneer and marsala are excellent. read more

3.5- I really enjoy the decor at India sizzling. It creates a fun atmosphere. The have a really detailed menu. My husband enjoyed his tandoori combo. I got the sash paneer and found it a bit bland. However, the small side of tikka masala that came with his order was flavorful. The naan was standard. We got the chickpea fried spicy paneer and it was and interesting texture/ flavor combo. They service was the only thing that was truly lacking. There were issues in communication with the order and it took them forever to even begin helping us. I would be interested in going to the lunch buffet to kind of eliminate the whole service interaction. read more

This is the best and thee MOST authentic Indian food anywhere in Indianapolis!! I love love love this place. India Sizzling has a menu that almost covers most of the major cuisines from India. As a former owner I can only say the present owners have made us more proud by improving the cuisine and service many times over. Keep up the good work guys. For people who cant take too much spice try the lunch Buffets. You will get to try a lot of different dishes and stick with sweet and creamy ones like their Veg korma and Naan, plain rice with chicken tikka masala etc. They have good service and will readily answer any questions. Definitely the best Indian restaurant withing Indy, Carmel and Fishers area. Pros - Buffet is great. Food is almost always tasty - there have been few misses but thats acceptable. Cons - Service is generally bad. There are few good servers and if they are working on the day you visit - then you are lucky. Else just enjoy the food :). Finally found an Indian place on the northeast side that we like. We tend to hit up Indian restaurants on Sundays for the buffet, and we stopped by here for the first time today. The buffet was one of the best I've had in the $8-$9 range, although it wasn't huge. Spice levels were very good -- some Indian buffets sometimes water stuff down for the lunch crowd. Good decor in the place too, and the staff was very friendly. Also, we saw an Indian family eating there. That's always a good sign :) read more

This is a great place to have excellent Indian food. A beautiful room is draped with cloth and feels very soft and peaceful. The music is good as well. The wait staff is very helpful with selecting dishes if you are not familiar or cannot recall the name of that dish you love. Definitely do not miss the Crispy Spinach - it melts in your mouth! Gets me my quota of Indian food, especially when I don't have the time to cook my own, which is pretty often, given my schedule! What I like about the place - - The dishes are quite close to how they would have been made in India. many restaurants in the US tend to adapt the dishes (temper them down a lot) and the fun in them is lost... - The copper artistry of the Mumbai skyline on the walls of the restaurant is very original. I like Mumbai a lot and this makes it even special. - very friendly staff! read more

I live in Fishers and regularly come here on weekends for the delicious buffet, which usually has about 8-10 hot entrees, including at least 2-3 vegetarian choices. There are the usual Indian foods like tandoori chicken, various dals, vegetable curries, biryani and chicken tikka masala. More unusual offerings such as goat curry or fried spicy fish nuggets appear occasionally. You usually get a complimentary basket of hot naan (I usually ask for garlic naan). Sometimes they give out a free dosa as well (last weekend there was curry potatoes in the dosa). There is usually a spicy vegetable soup with lentil doughnuts for dunking, and a deep fried veggie snack. My only complaint is that the staff is rather slow with water refills and the check. This place was recently closed for awhile for renovations, but is now back as usual. Lots of extended Indian families come here after 1pm on weekends so its good to get in early. I've been here a handful of times for the lunch buffet and it never disappoints. Wide variety of flavors/dishes and a lot of vegetarian options as well. They bring out fresh naan to your table to go with the buffet. Everything I've tried has been great! The lunch buffet is very well priced and is a great way to try a variety of Indian food. I can't speak to the dinner service, but if you're in the area for lunch, don't sleep on India Sizzling. I would come here more but I always eat too much because it's so good. read more

I think the food is ok but not great, but the service is so so so slow. I think they need to have the food come out quicker because my family losses it when we go in the restaurant and the restaurant is like a ghost town like it's not hopping and they should put in a tv. If they put in a tv or have the food come out quicker. Also they should stop running out of things. read more

Went for lunch on Saturday- we were planning on visiting the Mediterranean restaurant next door, but decided to peek into this place to see if they had a take-out menu for another time. It smelled so good that we decided to eat here instead! Lots of South Indian choices. Friendly service, the waiter helped me at the buffet by pointing out the vegan items. I ended up ordering off the menu, they were able to accommodated my request of mattar gobi (not on the menu, but I prefer the peas to potatoes of aloo gobi). Refilled my water several times, which always goes a long way in how I feel about a place. My husband went for the buffet and enjoyed several of the dishes. Be warned, the buffet food was a little bit spicier. My husband liked he naan that was served. He normally doesn't comment on bread, but he said how soft it was several times and ate 3 pieces, so I know it was really good! The sambar was excellent. He also enjoyed the chicken biryani on the buffet. He said he would come back just to order that. My recommendation for vegans is to order off the menu instead of going with the buffet, since there isn't a lot of variety. If you eat meat, try the chicken biryani. read more
