Indian Flavours in Palm occupies a small footprint along the Gold Coast Highway which has been the spot of many failed ventures before it: burger joints, breakfast nooks, cocktail lounges, among others. We had never been before, it's relatively new, but given it's about a two minute walk from our house and with a need for an Indian feed, we decided to give it a shot to quell our sate. We chose the classics to compare them to our favourites. The Chicken Tikka Masala ($19.99) , boneless chicken tikka cooked in masala gravy with capsicums and onions, was sublime, a thick umami gravy and nice, tender chunks of chicken. Being a goat fan, next up was Goat Korma ($21.99) with bones attached (which I love) cooked in cashew nut and onion gravy with cream. Again, the gravy was rich and delicious, the goat tender and gamy. We paired the two dishes with yellow rice ($4.49) and were, indeed, pleasantly sated. Our only comment was the gravy, in both dishes, was a bit on the sweet side, yet it didn't taste sugary so not sure what they're adding to the mix. We ordered takeout but there are a few tables inside if that's your preference and the place is fully licensed too with beer, wine and spirits. We'll be back to try the other Indian flavours on the menu. Enjoy! read more
